  1. 9 seems to be the general consensus on the HKS mate.
  2. Wise man. My NA had a bodykit and looked pretty awesome. I too picked my races.
  3. Yeah, I still have a lot of time for the NA and don't want to come across as someone out to bash it for the sake of it being an NA. Funnily enough, I nearly bought one again instead of my TT (with the intention of NA-t), but was still more than happy to drive it around of a year or so on standard NA power. I'm just giving my honest account of the NA for the benefit of the thread. It's quite a heavy old lump to move and it feels that way when you're trying to give it a kick up the arse. It does to me anyway. Good luck with the NA-t dude.
  4. I didn't say "out do", I said "struggle against" and I stand by that. An NA will be making a right ole song 'n dance against modern day sales rep cars too. As it's a supposed sports car/grand tourer, I would say its slow within its bracket.
  5. I've been in this trap since owning my UK spec, but have decided to stop thinking about the resale value as I'll be taking it to the grave. That doesn't mean to say that I'll be fitting a full veilside kit though.
  6. Sounds like you're hitting fuel cut which kinda confirms what I've been thinking. I reckon the UK spec is ok up to 1.1 bar of boost, but when you exceed that, it'll hit the fuel cut. I'm surprised there isn't a hard n fast conclusion on this to hand, tbh.
  7. I guess it really depends on what you define as slow. An NA will struggle against some modern turbo diesel vans, and that's no joke. There's certainly room for 'slow' argument.
  8. Boost controller has just arrived so I guess it's time to fit it, turn the boost up and find out if the FCD is needed. . .
  9. I was considering changing my tail lights to facelift, but I actually prefer the pre-facelift lights nowadays. Something about the grey surround on the facelift lights looks like a Halfords sticker kit.
  10. Looks pretty perfect as it is, if you ask me.
  11. Sorry guys, going to have to pull out. Just got off the phone to the mother and was reminded about my cousin coming over to hers for an extended Xmas meal/together this sat. Effin Skint Eastwood until payday, as well. Next month is looking good if peeps fancy another meet.
  12. Ok, cheers for the info dudes. I'll keep it handy until I turn the boost up (just in case), but it'll more than likely go back to the supplier if not needed.
  13. Just to confirm guys, will I need the FCD when I fit my boost controller and run 1.2 bar?
  14. Maybe mate, but not mine. It had just over 40k on the clock and never missed a beat.
  15. Hmmmm, I'm suspecting an element of deception in this thread. http://cakedufortin.nl/backup/Images/hmm-meme-i14.jpg
  16. I did wonder perpy as I never hit fuel cut after changing the exhaust and decat-ing. Have you increased the boost or are you running stock boost on a decat system?
  17. Providing we're not talking about a complete retard here, there's no hidden trick as to selecting the appropriate gear, planting the accelerator and shifting when the power curve has peaked. My NA ran like a dream, but I couldn't shake type r civics, seat leons, moderately tuned Renault 5 GTT's, etc on public roads. I wouldn't even start talking about going up against M3's. I'm not one to bash the NA's... a Supra is still a Supra, but I just can't bring myself to say they're quick in common street scenarios.
  18. Track days is a whole different argument. Normally, people don't drive on public roads as they do on a race track. Sure, the NA handles well and can be competitive, but in relation to normal road use (what I gathered the OP was referring to), it will get shown up by moderately-fast (at best) sports cars in terms of power/acceleration.
  19. Pull out the stool, quick drink of water, spray down, then back in the mix. Hardcore.
  20. ..ck it! Nevermind... next time, dude. 1. Ripped_fear 2. james_cbr 3. Axl 4. Big Supes 5. Sabrina 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.
  21. I never had any problems in general, but trying to get there with a moderately-fast sports car stuck to my behind used to get frustrating.
  22. After following a guide, I later found out the wiring is different on my UK spec (load of warning lights). I can't seem to find a guide for a UK or US spec anywhere. Anyone have any links or know what goes where? Cheers.
  23. Must resist NA/downhill jokes.
