  1. Thanks mate. Thanks imi, I've recently replaced the rear pads and don't fancy doing them again for a while (), but I'll definitely invest in a complete set for the future. I find myself torn between keeping everything as Toyota intended as don't intend to sell it and I'd like to put my stamp on it. The main reason I hunted for such a mint example was to have a solid base to build on. It's a tricky one for sure... whatever happens, I'm not going to rush into anything. Thanks bud. I honestly never thought I could love an auto so much, but I'd be only be lying to myself if I said it's on par with manual. Boost is hopefully going up this weekend... and yes, I can't fricken wait.
  2. Fuckin 'ell, just when you think you've seen it all. As Havard has said, hand this video over to the local press and shame the little prick.... ....but, of course...wait it out and knock his teeth out first.
  3. Thanks mate, looking forward to turning up the boost. Yeah, I think I had intentions to leave this thread to die, but I may as well use it to document the story. Maybe a mod can kindly move it to Supra Chat. Thanks mate. 6 speed will be first dude. Hampshire is wearing thin on nice areas these days!
  4. Thought I'd give this thread some loving instead of starting a new one. Ditched the car cover for a garage. Whifbitz 3" system and decats have been installed along with the HKS FCD and NGK iridium spark plugs. Hopefully will get around to fitting the boost controller at the weekend: ICE is in. Got a hold of some SRD speaker brackets (worked a treat) and some Focal PC165 speakers for the doors. I have a Kicker 10" sub in the boot and Kicker amp to power it. Opted for a Kenwood double-din head unit. Lastly, managed to lower the ride height 30mm. There's still work in progress so I don't have any other pictures, but I'll be sure to post them up when it's all done... and more importantly, after I've cleaned it.
  5. Something else I was thinking, as well.
  6. Absolutely (no colour/light correction):
  7. Looks like the standard silver that's had a mop, combined with some post picture light/contrast tweaks.
  8. Hope you didn't smack your face into the steering wheel with that kind of acceleration being shut off... it's bad enough in an NA!

  10. How do the terminals look on the starter J? I would whip them off irrespective of visual appearance and clean them up with some sand paper. Definitely the next port of call, IMO.
  11. Battery swap is a good idea. If no joy, check the terminals on the starter motor for corrosion. Disconnect the battery and take off the terminals on the starter and clean up the connections. Sandpaper works. Pop them back on, connect the battery and cross your fingers.
  12. Get a multimeter on your battery J to check its ok. Also, check for any corroded or bad connections around the battery and on the starter motor. Sounds like the starter isn't getting enough juice for some reason.
  13. 9 seems to be the general consensus on the HKS mate.
  14. Wise man. My NA had a bodykit and looked pretty awesome. I too picked my races.
  15. Yeah, I still have a lot of time for the NA and don't want to come across as someone out to bash it for the sake of it being an NA. Funnily enough, I nearly bought one again instead of my TT (with the intention of NA-t), but was still more than happy to drive it around of a year or so on standard NA power. I'm just giving my honest account of the NA for the benefit of the thread. It's quite a heavy old lump to move and it feels that way when you're trying to give it a kick up the arse. It does to me anyway. Good luck with the NA-t dude.
  16. I didn't say "out do", I said "struggle against" and I stand by that. An NA will be making a right ole song 'n dance against modern day sales rep cars too. As it's a supposed sports car/grand tourer, I would say its slow within its bracket.
  17. I've been in this trap since owning my UK spec, but have decided to stop thinking about the resale value as I'll be taking it to the grave. That doesn't mean to say that I'll be fitting a full veilside kit though.
  18. Sounds like you're hitting fuel cut which kinda confirms what I've been thinking. I reckon the UK spec is ok up to 1.1 bar of boost, but when you exceed that, it'll hit the fuel cut. I'm surprised there isn't a hard n fast conclusion on this to hand, tbh.
