  1. Does anyone know of any car meets/events on NYE? I honestly haven't even thought about it before, but this year I fancy a change from a crap night in town paying ridiculous prices for entry/drinks...
  2. Nice little read. Love hearing the story behind the car and its great to see someone's p&j being restored to it's former glory/potential. Thanks for sharing Lee. Good luck with it all John. Will look forward to updates.
  3. Awesome Lee. Coming along nicely mate.
  4. Nice!! And, welcome.
  5. The emulsification on the oil cap could just be due to condensation from it being sat around. Not really following this part: "We think its passing by the water oil cooling in the block where filter makes up."
  6. Probably around 1ish? Will confirm, but I'm not really a morning person....
  7. Me and Sabrina are going to this. Will probably take both Supra's along. Up for convoying over if you fancy it.
  8. I was only joking. I have no idea mate. It would be handy if we had a decent meet around the corner though.
  9. Make sure you replace all of your wheel nuts with the locking variety. I could be up for it, but won't be able to stay until the evening. Can't miss the boxing!
  10. I could do with one of these for next years events.... something to chuck my blow up bed on. Sod the tent.
  11. Don't worry. They're nothing like Nissan's. If you find a clean one, it'll be that way for a while.
  12. Indeed! Looks like a nice bit of kit Andrew. Kudos on your workmanship. I have an electric passenger seat base to fit so I'll run the feed for this at the same time.
  13. I guess so... I'll have a good look at it when it's out and maybe take it to a friend who can tig it, then on to another friend who can pressure check it. The fins are in reasonable order.
  14. Welcome to the club. Get some piccies up.
  15. Thanks for confirming mellonman. Either way, its going in the bin... I don't have faith in the build quality.
  16. Thanks mate. I'd be surprised if it was an uprated IC, but as I have never seen another in the flesh, I wouldn't know what to compare it to. One thing for certain is that you can see from the quality of the weld where it has failed, it looks like it has been patched here before. I didn't want to take any chances attempting to salvage it so it'll be going in the bin.
  17. Nothing too exciting to report, but thought I'd give this thread a little update.... After replacing the front nearside wheel bearing, I managed to destroy the ABS sensor so both have been replaced. It was a £130 (new ABS sensor) lesson learned from diving straight in. A few other parts that have been replaced when searching for a boost issue... Replacing O2 sensors: Uprated inlet pipes: Popping on the pipes at JAE Cause of the boost issue (cracked weld on the standard SMIC): .... I have some Chris Wilson goodness coming to take it's place. Something to tinker with in the mean time... Looking good after a day of pampering: I'm back in the daily now the shite weather is here so it's time to go through the winter job list: Change rear upper arms Reseal offside headlight Change tyre Replace front offside wheel bearing Fit Chris Wilson SMIC I wanted to get the auto to manual conversion done this winter, but maintenance has had to come first from my budget. It can wait.
  18. If you're planning on buying to convert to manual, do it sooner rather than later; people are starting to ask stupid money for the gearbox and accompanying ancillaries. My car will be going manual in the future, but with the way second hand gearbox prices are going, I'll more than likely import a new one.
  19. Invest your money into engine management and the map. Forged internals won't compensate for the former being off.
  20. I can take some this evening if need be mate.
  21. Is there really a need for a new block? Unless there has been an issue with the engine, a hone and new set of rings should see it within the Mr T's tolerances. Failing that, you could bore and go with over sized pistons... I certainly wouldn't be purchasing a new block.
