  1. Hi guys, I'm in the process of choosing a gearbox for my manual conversion and I have decided to go down the BMW route. The two options I am considering are the e46 M3 6sp getrag and the 330d gearbox. Ideally, I want to get as close to the OE 6sp gearbox on the Supra, but before I commit to buy anything, I'd just like to run it by the gurus as I'm not too versed in ratios. 6 Speed (V160) / (V161) 3.827 / 3.724 2.360 / 2.246 1.685 / 1.541 1.312 / 1.205 1.000 / 1.000 0.793 / 0.818 3.280 / 3.192 3.266(all TT) Looking at the comparisons, I think the obvious choice would be the M3 6sp as the ratios are quite similar, but am I right in thinking the final drive ratio on the 330d would be geared too high, making it quite difficult to make power lower down the rev range?
  2. Some VERY NICE upgrades going on there.
  3. Great, thanks. I will pass on the details to a friend who is looking.
  4. Thanks for the letting us know Simon. Regarding the other car, I'd just like to warn people that it looks like it could be a scam. The owner is asking for a deposit via PP before he gives any details about the vehicle out.
  5. Thanks for the PM Simon, I've passed all the details on And another: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/used-cars/toyota/supra/used-toyota-supra-3-0-3dr-leeds-fpa-201601260424385 Anyone know this car?
  6. When I looked into it, all I could find was people saying it was good for big power. Thankfully I decided against it as I want an OE 6sp.
  7. I've heard people run big bhp on these boxes with no issues at all.
  8. Hi Simon, thanks for touching base. Are you serious about selling the car still? If you could give some history and some more details I can forward it onto him. Was this car converted back to NA from TT? The reason I ask is because I noticed you had a NA-TT.
  9. A good friend of mine is interested in it. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/281914589721?_trkparms=aid=222007&algo=SIC.MBE&ao=1&asc=20150313114020&meid=8797c39b0134473380708dd59a00b483&pid=100338&rk=1&rkt=18&sd=181961875619&_trksid=p2141725.c100338.m3726&_mwBanner=1 Cheers
  10. Is your car your daily? Moisture can build up over time when its sat around. Whenever I run my car up I hit the AC on recirc to get rid of the moisture while keeping the AC healthy.
  11. I've seen a few members cars on Facebook recently and, unless they've been sold to someone else, they seem to be posted under a different profile name than to who I know owns the car? Initially I went to call them out and say "Hey, that's not your car mate.", then after thinking about it, I wondered if it was something people are doing intentionally...? I'm confused.
  12. Interesting. I read somewhere that some of the Top Gear team have already walked from the show as they're not onboard with Evans's way of doing things.
  13. Sorry mate, I would help, but my car is in hibernation in my mothers garage which is a couple of miles away. When I'm there next I'll have a look if someone else hasn't helped.
  14. Nice Jake and you get a big YES to restoring the dash panels to their original colours.
  15. Thanks for the advice mate, I'll bare that in mind. I think this is true, but only to a degree. Damp is mainly caused by condensation so a simple ventilation fix should make a big difference. I will carry out a before & after test on the humidity so we should have a good idea if it works or not. Single garage.
  16. Evening chaps, As it's that time of year again, I've been thinking about damp/humidity in my garage. Luckily it's not too bad in there, but I did notice my rear bumper was a little wet when I brought it outside to run up last weekend. My current plan is to swap out a few bricks for vented bricks and attach a small fan to blow air out of the garage, drawing in fresh out from outside through my cat flap and possibly an additional vented brick. Has anyone done anthing similar to this? I've considered a dehumidifier, but I'm not sure who effective it would be in comparison. Any other thoughts on this?
  17. Had a do-luck type 2 fumper and it had to go in the bin it was so poorly made.
  18. I think he means 5k extra would get you a mint import TT6 and not a UK. Import prices have gone crazy over the last year... so much so, current Supra owners really need to be careful not to let them go too cheaply.
  19. Mine comes out for shows and nice weekends in the summer. During the winter he pretty much just gets brought out of the garage to be ran up every other weekend.
  20. Go desktop if possible. You'll get more bang for buck.
