I'd be surprised if it was the turbo as, isn't the oil pressure reduced via banjo bolts to prevent oil seals from being popped? The reason I ask is because this used to be the case, but I'm not sure if it has changed.

Hi mate, I started with a new company a few months ago and they're slowly moving me into the office so I'm not on the tools as much anymore, but I'll always be passionate about wrapping. It's an art form. It's just a shame there are so many cowboys out there these days. I haven't used Suntek or Xpel before, but I'll keep them in mind should I ever do any homers.

Yes, it has a soft (quite sexual) feel to it. Someone would really need the car for a week to do a proper job on it. No rubber would be covered, but headlights aren't a problem.

That's a real shame Dunk. It definitely sounds like poor fitting, but I'm unsure as to why it looked dull. This M3 was done by myself and a former work colleague last year. As you can see from the pictures, the finish is very high quality. One to show the door and rear quarter finished. Side skirt undergoing application. Lastly, the bonnet.

Oh dear. Venture shield is good stuff, but it's EXTREMELY difficult to fit. I've seen some of the best vehicle wrappers I have worked with screw it up.

I haven't driven anything with the T56, neither have I operated a v160 or v161. I can only go on word of mouth and car reviews, but it has to be said, I have yet to see any reviews where the T56 is being slated. A lot of people seem to be praising it. Regarding diff ratios, I am currently looking at options, but either a US spec auto diff thrown in the box or an NA diff until it pops (although I don't visit the drag strip) should bring the T56 more in alignment with the V160. Looking at the pictures in the link in my first post, the gearstick position looks spot on. The v160/v161 would be able to handle what I'd be throwing at it with ease, but that's not to say it hasn't had a crunchtastic life being in the wrong hands. All it would take is a knackered syncro and it's good night. This is what really concerns me.

You cannot use heat on venture shield as it will 'white-out' if over stretched. Generally it is either hand cut on a bench using templates and applied to a vehicle or a vehicle outline is downloaded and used to create a kit that is cut via a plotter.

Paint is cured using an oven using heat in the first place. 90 degrees (post heating temperature during application) won't do any damage at all. Cars in other countries get hotter just being parked in the sun!

Sorry mate, but that's nonsense. I've fitted tons of wraps and also removed my fair share to know that factory paint/sound respray will not be damaged by vinyl.

Apparently the single plate clutch is good for 600bhp. I can't imagine it being too harsh. That being said, if I was too concerned about comfort, I'd keep the auto box. I've thought long and hard about not molesting the car and I've come to the conclusion: As long as it can be restored (undone) to it's original state e.g. no wide-body kits, then it gets a green light. I still have the original head unit, exhaust system and suspension. Haha, yes, it would be rude not to write up the whole conversion on the T56. The points you've raised regarding the OE 6sp boxes are all valid and definitely a big cause for concern.

It is. I opted for an SMG as it will (theoretically) have taken less abuse from the elimination of driver error in changing gears. Converting it to manual is very straight forward.

It's certainly been reviewed... I have a 420g currently sat in my lounge. I guess I need to see more of the conversion to make an informed decision. All of the custom parts that are required put me off, if I'm honest, and GyroDrift didn't want to discuss the conversion in depth with me as they were worried about information leaking. Personally, I know 90% of what is entailed, but when it comes to leaving my car with someone, I require 100% confidence in their knowhow and what is going to be undertaken (not to say they don't know what they're doing). Ok mate. Let me ponder on this and I'll come back to you. Did the seller guarantee customer satisfaction once the box has been installed? If you could let me know your best price on the lot, I'll definitely consider it.

Damn you Chris. I'm could be tempted if you would be willing to negotiate a reasonable deal (not sure if I would require the diff). TBH Frank, I've struggle for years to part with anything over £3000 for a 20 year old box that has more than likely had a lot of abuse. I can't even begin to imagine the levels of anger and frustration if it shat itself a year or two down the line...

This was my line of thinking as well. Apparently, it's a really nice gearbox to operate as well. Hmm... I'm feeling more confident about going in this direction...

I hear you, Chris. As much as I respect, and would enjoy a built auto, the good old stick shifter is just something I can't be without. Yep. All of the above. Let's be honest though... 6k is still a lot of money for a gearbox...

Hi peeps, I'm having trouble deciding which route to take between a V160 conversion and the T56 Magnum. The V160 offers the OE factor, but then again, I do not have any plans to sell the car. It's also very expensive for a 20 year old box and with parts becoming scarce. Having been quoted £3500 - £4500 for the box alone (no shifter) this leads me to the next option... The T56 Magnum Supra conversion kit offers a brand new gearbox that is stronger than the V160 and can be delivered to my door (complete conversion kit) for just over 6k. Parts are readily available should I encounter any issues years on down the line. I have no idea which way to go...

For anyone who enjoyed Batman vs Superman, I wholeheartedly recommend the Ultimate Edition. What on earth were Warner Brothers thinking releasing their version of the final cut compared to this?! Not only does it flesh out more of the subplots, it adds context to the entire premise of the conflict between the two lead characters! My initial rating for BvS was a solid 7/10. The Ultimate Edition (Director's Cut), I'd give 9/10.
