  1. As a bare minimum I need a block and crankshaft, but would consider a short block if the price is right.
  2. Is there any difference in the head? I was thinking TT head so I can run the TT intake mani and keep the classic 2JZ form factor, purely from a cosmetic factor.
  3. Ok buddy, I'll see if I can find it again. If you see the post, could you do us a favour and tag me in it, please?
  4. I recall seeing one on FB, but thought it might have got snapped up to be used as a table?
  5. If you have a link I'll buy it now.
  6. I'm considering swapping a 2J into my Z and have been weighing up options. I've seen complete 2JZ GTE engines for sale at around 2.5k, but I was wondering if it would be more logical to buy a 2JZGE from an aristo for £250 and swap the head over. I'll be running it as a single turbo also which would do away with a lot of the twin sequential gubbings anyway and would want to build the engine from scratch with new bearings, oil and water pump, etc.
  7. I think it was SPG who recommended shiply.com to me. It's a really good site mate - lots of reliable haulage companies competing for the work.
  8. No probs dude. It would be for my Z so turbo only. Worst case scenario, I'm interested.
  9. I might be interested in the turbo and wastegate alone if you get stuck and want to split mate.
  10. Good to hear buddy. Are you changing the colour or just refreshing? Air brushing?
  11. Car is looking really good Axl. You must be really chuffed with it.
  12. You said it buddy. Looks wise, I love black so once the engine is out, I will prep the whole car for paint and a good friend of mine will come over and spray it for me. I'm going for something along these lines, without the oil cooler hanging out of the front. Something Axl may approve of. I am happy to have helped with the logical decision mate. It's really easy to get caught up with a car you own and love, but just as easy to ruin it in a time where they are reaching legendary status.
  13. After a lot of investigating and trying to source parts, it's looking like I am going to pull the engine from the spares car and build it over the winter. The VG series looks to be a great little engine that's well put together and has plenty of performance potential. The plan is to go for a built VG33det that will be good for 700+bhp, but run a smaller turbo for somewhere between 550 and 600bhp. It should be quite lively.
  14. Thanks for the heads up mate. I've yet to investigate the offset differences between the Z and the Supra, but I'll find out soon enough when I swap one over.
  15. Ouch dude. Definitely perform a leak down to further investigate the internals. Once you've done that, ditch the oil and examine. Also, you're going to want to wash out your FMIC. It'll no doubt be carrying oil residue. Pour in some petrol, give it a shake around and rinse it out.
  16. Pmsl Jacky, you might want to check your floor pans are still intact.
  17. Was the car originally black? Looks nice.
  18. You might have fried your piston rings causing excessive crank case pressure which, in turn, blew your oil cap off.
  19. Just took delivery of the second Z (spares car). Still not sure what to do with it. The chassis is in pretty good condition and she was made a month after my current car in the same factory (both UK cars). I think it would be a shame to let it rot and take the occasional part of it (that I could probably source online anyway). I might up end going RB25 or 1JZ.
  20. Great to hear you have taken him in, Chris. Castration made a big difference to my GSD. He's a lot more calm and generally happier.
