  1. Some nice bits gone on this. Any updates?
  2. Holy smokes. That's crazy! Anyone comes to my door in a tux is getting the dog set on them. LOL
  3. What in the fffffff?! I'm not sure if this is a movie reference or if you're being for real?!! 12 years old... where dreams are made! My mates dad's Z31 got paint stripper poured over it by a scorned ex girlfriend of his. I was devastated, but it came back from the paint shop looking as beautiful as ever.
  4. Managed to source a full rear brake set up from a R33 Skyline. They will do the job nicely. I'll more than likely paint the calipes red. I will be keeping an eye out for the Z32 brakes for the fronts.
  5. Sounds like we were both struck down by the Z when we were kids.
  6. I'm not sure on the numbers released in the UK, but I only ever knew of one when I was a kid. A mate's dad owned one around 1990 and I fell in love with it. It was simply nothing like any other car I had seen... plus, it had 180mph on the clock, which was a pretty big deal back then.
  7. Thanks mate. I've just gone and ordered a new compressor, a mig welder, some extra tools and some fender extensions for the old girl. I'm off to put my bank card in a tub of water and into the freezer now...
  8. Order placed. Thanks for the recommendation Wilkinson!
  9. Good to hear positive feedback about the Clarke range of welders. I've just placed an order for the the Clarke 151TE. Looking forward to getting stuck in with it.
  10. I've just got off the phone to a chap at MM Southampton and he said I won't be eligible for VAT free unless I already have the voucher. He was pretty useless, TBH. Your classic "computer says no" order taker. I think I may have to chew pillow and allow Mr VAT man to do his thing... I'll pick up a set of the of the Clarke welding gloves and definitely agreed on the auto dimming visor... especially in tight spaces under cars! Thanks for the advice mate. We must get all us local peeps out for a mini meet at some point. It's been a while!
  11. Haven't settled on wheels yet Jim, but those do look sexy, indeed! Once the S13 subframe is on, it will throw out the wheel fitment. I also have fender extensions to go on so, what that in mind, I've decided to work out the fitment first then choose a set based on what offsets are available.
  12. Yeah, I'll definitely grab a few fittings from eBay or if they have some down at Machine Mart when I'm over there tomorrow. I'll definitely get a moisture trap for the time being. When it comes to purchasing the spraying equipment I'll look into what is the best set up for the job.
  13. That's worth knowing, thanks. I only have an air blower tool, but I don't think it's difficult to change the fitting.
  14. Yep. Most people seem to think 12-14 cfm is adequate for spraying for a car.
  15. Looks pretty decent for the money, indeed. Those specs will be good enough to respray a car for sure. Thanks mate.
  16. It's starting to look like the 150TE or 151TE is the way forward. Regarding the wheel drum unwinding and getting tangled, I've experienced this before with a reel drum that was driven and couldn't work out why it would happen. It must be something to do with the tension in the reel from when it was first produced. Thanks for the feedback guys, I think I'm going to go with either the 150TE or 151TE.
  17. Sorry... didn't want to start another thread, but felt the two items I am asking for advice on needed to be kept separate. I'm after a compressor for my garage to power the odd air tool but to, ultimately, be able to respray a car with no issues. Anyone out there with something ideal?
  18. Ok, thanks. I'll bare that in mind. I am limited by 240v so 13a plug would be my limit.
  19. That actually looks ideal and not bad on price either!
  20. Looking for an entry level mig welder for my Fairlady project. Something that is easy to work with and will get the job done. Any recommendations?
  21. Just waiting on the S13 LSD and poly bushes for the control arms and then I can paint the rest and get it fitted!
