  1. Yeah, I share the same disbelief at how their stuff isn't out there more, although their GR700 kits are pretty popular these days and, for that reason, maybe people see them as more of gearbox swap shop when they've got a lot more R&D and experience to offer. No idea on the wastegate position, but it's worth sending Joel a message. He's a super helpful dude.
  2. Joel has confirmed the 60mm wastegate version fits on RHD cars with no problems. They're going to test fit twin wastegate next.
  3. The Grannas Racing manifold is a serious contender for me. They run the same style on Orange Man Bad. Enough said. https://www.grannasracing.com/collections/exhaust-manifolds/products/grannas-racing-2jz-gte-gen-r-t4-divided-twin-scroll-exhaust-manifold
  4. No probs buddy. If I can confirm it's the same, I'll take it if it's still available.
  5. Anyone got these kicking around? Don't have to be in the best condition.
  6. Thanks peeps, sorted now.
  7. Must have done a bit of a whoopsie and drove off with it on the tailgate as it's no longer there. I guess it was bound to happen when my daily doesn't have one to begin with.
  8. Welcome and best of luck with the build.
  9. It'll be tight getting it out from under the car on the ramps. The ramps might also be in the way as you'll want to drag it out under one of the front arches as that's the highest point. I did my manual swap on axle stands using two jacks to make life easier. If I were to remove or install a gearbox again with the same set up, I'd 100% use a trans jack for ease. My days of bench pressing transmissions are officially over.
  10. I honestly cannot recommend a carcoon highly enough over a car cover if you have funds. It'll save your paint, your battery and prevent any corrosion taking place over any long winters. I currently have paint damage on my roof from high winds + a car cover. It also caused micro blistering due to holding moisture on the paint for too long. I kicked myself that I didn't get a carcoon sooner when I pulled my car out of hibernation last spring. Anyhow... I prob sound like I'm on commission by now so I'll shut up.
  11. I recall Whiftbitz stating on their website that their manifold brought the boost on X amount of rpm earlier compared to other manifolds on the dyno. Don't quote me on the actual wording, but I remember thinking fair play Paul for throwing down.
  12. Perfect, thanks for clarifying re the manifold. I was thinking the manifold is going to be crucial to achieving the sound I want. I've been looking at the RPS remake by SP Racing with the F1 manifold. With a large muffler like the greddy PE I think I'll be someway sorted. Stock UK fuel system will be in place until the next step which will be ECU, cams and fuel system. Sounds awesome Burna. Would like to hear more of it off the dyno.
  13. Just read through your old thread with @Nozdeveloping the headlight demist kit. Did you try one of these kits out of curiosity? BTW, I'm going to ceramic coat the inside of my lens before putting them back together just incase any condensation wants to build up on the glass.
  14. Yeah, that's true, but I find cams give more of an engine characteristic that then gets changed by the above. I'll try and find some audio of an RS-R.
  15. Sorry if this has been discussed a million times. I found old threads on the subject, but all the links to soundbites and videos had expired. When considering my single build for next year I really want to get the sound right and need the help of those who have been through different exhausts, manifolds and turbos to steer me in the right direction for what I'm after. I'd like to get as close as possible to the older set ups people used to run. The deeper burble, chewbacca sound like the Greddy Power Extreme in the video attached. I know the turbo and manifold have quite a big effect on this too and I'd imagine the better flowing/newer manifolds probably decrease that unequal length chewbacca noise. There used to be a video of Dude's old silver auto that ran a T88 playing on an airstrip with other jap cars for a top speed challenge. It sounded immense.
  16. Found a decent location for the Real Street catch can. This is out of the way from extreme heat, maintains cruise control and also doesn't mean I have to delete my charcoal canister (which I really didn't want to have to do). I just need to either modify the bracket or use the bolt hole in the back or the inlet where the EGR was to mount a fixed jubilee and secure it that way. Just waiting on the ally bosses to arrive and then the cam covers can go off to the welders, then it's a case of getting the hoses made.
  17. Ah, ok. Fair enough. I'll no doubt find lots of other jobs to knock out of the meter I've bought to recoup the money.
  18. That's a good call. When the car is ready to be set up, I'll see if I can speak with him prior to get a better understanding of what I desire from the car. That course at Millbrook looks absolutely spot on. Once the car is single (and my wallet recovers) I'll be giving them a shout.
  19. Looks pretty decent. I opted for the Real Street catch can and have found a nice location to mount it while maintaining my cruise control and charcoal canister.
  20. Ended up redoing the light clusters three times to realise that they need fully stripping back to begin with before any wrapping can commence. I tried different techniques to preserve the chrome, but it still ends up getting pulled off. It's super fragile. After experimenting with chrome paint, I've ended up buying a meter of Avery silver wrapping chrome to finish the rings as the chrome paint just looked silver. One meter of silver chrome = £150 delivered. #shafted Opted for a lil carbon accent to add a little bit of flare. Looks pretty decent if I don't mind saying so myself. For the record, this still isn't finished as the rings are just mocked up out of old swatch samples I had kicking around.
  21. I think your post pretty much summarises the sensible approach to upping the power. In a nutshell, make sure the car is set up correctly and get some experience whether it's on a track, driver course etc. I guess I was more interested in the cause and effect of why something is happening. I'm going to look into geometry as an interest, but have my car set up by a specialist to my requirements. I haven't spoken to Chris. It's a real shame he's so far away as I'd drop my car off with him and get it set up. Regarding driver courses, I'd be keen to do some events where you can take your cars on a runway or track with a nice amount of runoff and find the limit of the car in the higher gears. I have no real interest in advanced driver courses that have any element of the road safety. I've done my fair share of driver awareness courses.
  22. Sweet deal. Can you drop me a PM with pic and price?
