  1. Bit of an update... Lee @ SRD hooked me up with some brand new OE coil packs and coil pack clips. The clips fit like a dream and were easy to solder onto the harness. The difference it has made is quite astonishing tbh which tells me the old ignition system was a bit tired. Also picked up and fitted one their aluminium bumper undertrays. Really pleased with the fitment and quality of the kit. In the process of ordering up a LinkG4X plug 'n play ECU. As I'm going to be running the single set up on the stock UK-Spec fuelling for a bit, I've taken Lee's advice to get the ECU on before hand instead of risking melting a piston or two. I figure I may as well get it on sooner rather than later while I wait for the manifold and turbo to arrive.
  2. The RS2000 looks a lot of fun. I do love an old Ford. Grew up idolising the iconic British Ford scene.
  3. That Cossie is drool...
  4. That's pretty much exactly what I'm after mate, cheers. The good old cable mechanism works for me.
  5. It's not much more than an R34 these days. It'll go for that money.
  6. Not too difficult to go back if you have a welder.
  7. I'd be interested in hearing some sound clips once it's installed.
  8. He was doing 45mph in a 50 with his daughter and baby seat strapped in the front. They pulled him for the plate, but as the copper was a jobsworth prick he decided he'd do him for the exhaust as well, which seems to be backfiring (pun intended) on the Facebook post.
  9. Pair of UK Spec front seats, black leather, heated (comes with switch), electric driver. Decent condition. Talk to me.
  10. He's going to wait for the paperwork to arrive to see what the offence was, but I have a feeling the car might have passed the decibel test, but because he showed the officer the bung, he was then done for something else. I think I need to get familiar with the current laws as these cars are from a time when the police stuck to catching actual criminals and car enthusiasts were allowed to go about their business.
  11. It made the police Facebook page... No mention of the front plate. As suspected they were mainly concerned about the exhaust. Given what they have stated as the offence, does a 25 year old Supra need a "Type Approved" exhaust and if so, where can I get one?
  12. It's certainly an option buddy, thanks
  13. I'm an advocate for civil disobedience, but yes... another day. Yes, the latter. Noise reducing for early morning starts and overzealous police officers.
  14. That's a shame. I've seen a couple I'm interested in, but they seem more like bypass valves that divert the exhaust gas either directly out (for noise) are close off so the gas goes through the silencers. That's not really what I'm looking for, tbh...
  15. I think there's a lot to be said for a stern warning, but to fine for the plate and then fine for the exhaust aswell, I think the constable is a tosser, but hey ho, that's why I'm not a copper. Are most of the valves no good in your experience?
  16. Can anyone recommend an exhaust butterfly valve that'll fit a 4" system? A friend got pulled yesterday for no front plate and the copper also slapped another £100 fine on him for his car being too loud. As I'll be running a similar set up, I'd like to avoid this and, tbh, it might be a good option as a matter of courtesy for my neighbours.
  17. I'd be interested in buying the boards.
  18. Forum diagnosises are a bit of a lottery so I'll add my 2p... Try unplugging and cleaning the connections on the crank and cam sensors. It's worth checking the resistances are within range while you're there. Also worth checking for a bad earth (remove and clean). With the age of these cars I've seen badly corroded battery trays and earth cables hanging off which had caused a variety of red herrings.
  19. Does it hot start on your ECU?
  20. If you still can't make boost on TTC mode, have done all the checks Mike has listed, the next steps I'd take is to check the turbo link pipe for internal collapse and the rest of the IC pipes for boost leaks. I remember on mine a while back I couldn't make over a bar of boost and it turned out to be failing welds on my OE SMIC. Boost leaks of that nature are normally indicative of running rich though. I've attached a pic of where the link pipe is located. If yours is stock, it'll be an orcadian style pipe. They're known to collapse internally so they look ok from the outside. Whifbitz sell replacements.
  21. Thanks matey, I'm pretty in love with this car again right now. I keep finding excuses to do stuff on it. Hopefully the manifold and turbo will be here in the not too far future so I can start wrenching the twins off.
