  1. Saw you on the round between Denham and Uxbridge, wasn't at an angle from which I could wave or give a blip!
  2. Ahhh my bad! Can't keep up with pagan political correctness.
  3. Welcome, good to see another man from Bucks. (Wait...he is a dude right? I mean purple writing and Sam could be Samantha or Samuel!) But big hi from me and my equally non-turbo import!
  4. Ohhh for FFS, really? I was reading in the paper yesterday that the American's were moaning that they were paying more than they've ever had to pay before, for fuel. The thing is the same article stated that on average, they pay 85p per litre of petrol! We seem to enjoy being bent over and jousted and over and over again...fiscally speaking. We need another Guy Fawkes. One that does the job right this time.
  5. Well, I can't get that song "We didn't start the flame war...." out of my head while at work but otherwise I've been listening to Alterbridge for the last month. Although I can't help having a cheesy moment on a sunny day, shades on, roof off and blaring smooth operator while driving along.
  6. I can't believe a Veyron did that. These are meant to be the pinnacle of engineering. What an absolute plank.
  7. Yep, you can get a wireless adaptor. Currently using one. Not had any problems with signal or gameplay. Im using the elite, would recommend it - had it for quite a while. Comes with a nice fat hard drive and the HDMI cable (although I did hear that some of the newer arcades, etc, come with them, too. Worth a check. Frankly, it's the ( o )( o )!
  8. I know someone sort of mentioned it earlier, but you could try Warcraft 3 and let us not forget that timeless classic Starcraft. From what I gather starcraft still has a thriving online community. Starcraft 2 should be out soon. I have to also agree with an earlier comment that C&C/Red Alert although visually impressive has lost the magic that the original C&C's used to have. I still catch myself saying "haha, that was left handed!" - Commando used scream that when he killed an enemy. A very good place to pick up old games quite cheaply is, GOG (Good Old Games): http://www.gog.com/en/frontpage/
  9. Agree with both the above, if we're going with classic games. I would recommend Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2. But both games are about 10 years old. Ohhhh and Mechcommander 1 and 2! They were good strategy games!
  10. Add me. I don't think I added myself on this. Xbox ID in sig. D
  11. I quite liked my one: "Marshall, this is an English and French surname, but one of ultimately pre 7th century Germanic origins. Although generally regarded as deriving from the French word "mareschal", the ultimate origin of the word lies in the Old High German "marah" meaning a horse, plus "scalc", a servant. This indicates that the term "marshal" was originally occupational for one who looked after the horses, a very important function from the most ancient times in history'. By the 11th Century whatever the original meaning and however high or low the status, the word useage had developed to that of the most important person in a noble household, and as the highest office of state 'The Lord Chief Marshall'. In England where the earliest surname recordings are to be found, a good example is that of Rainald le Mareschall in the charters known as "Documents relating to the Danelaw", for the county of Lincolnshire, in the year 1140. There are no less than fifty-eight British coats of arms, and a similar number on the Continent, granted to members of this illustrious 'family'. The first recorded spelling of the family name is believed to be that of Godfridus Marescal. This was dated 1086, in the famous Domesday Book for the county of Wiltshire. Godfridus was a Frenchman, who was granted lands in England by King William 1st, following the successful conquest of 1066." I've heard snippets of this before. There was also a general belief in the family that we're illigitimately linked to the Danish throne, but any information died with my gran as she thought it was a great shame! But glad to hear I'm part of an illustrious family. But what I would say is the whole Horse-marshal stuff hasn't translated into modern day, clearly. Our modern day horses have four wheels and I almost know nothing about them other than how to feed, water and shoe them.
  12. http://baby-names.adoption.com/search/daniel.html My Judge is my lord? Meh, I guess that's true being a Protestant.
  13. Fo'Shizzle ma Wizzle... although I'll wait till it's out in the shop. Loved first ones and 7 and 8. I was over the moon when they came out with 1 & 2 on the PSP. I've also got Final Fantasy Tactics which was a bit...naff. Badly translated. The word "Jape" came up in ever other sentence. I bought the Final Fantasy Crisis Core and that brought back fond memories and I'm still agonising whether to buy Dissidia. My understand is it's another franchise rip off with almost no plot but - hey - it's got Squall and Cloud, right?
  14. A couple of me. The only really half way good ones where I'm not throwing up, look like sh*t or been man handled by a gorilla.

  16. Was it the Italian Job with Michael Cain? It's the kind of thing I'd expect him to say.
  17. If I may add my two cents on the subject, I think it basically comes down to gut feeling. Is the guy worth it. Long distance relationships are a lot more common these days than people think. Long live the internet. Some would say that 3 hours is nothing. It depends whether you can tolerate it and again, whether the guy is worth it. I've been going out with my crazy knife wielding girlfriend for v11 () years now and it takes me a moderate 2 hours to get to her. I see her every other weekend and we talk for at least an hour every night ./deep sigh. In the grand scheme of things, 3 hours isn't that far if he's worth it. If he's worth it, then by all rights it will be a short term thing as you'll eventually move in together, get married, get up the duff, etc. If he's not worth it and your gut feeling is telling you something isn't quite right, then walk away before you're stuck together for the sake of it just being a comfortable relationship. Thats my thoughts.
  18. 1. Shameless 2. Question Time Best of 2000: Very hard for me to say: I'd say Inbetweeners, followed very closely behind Scrubs and Family Guy.
  19. Im having this problem as well, would be interested to know how you resolve this. I have two towels in the car just for these occasions
  20. I looked at the review on Xbox live and from what they were saying, it's going back slightly to Fall Out 1 & 2 mechanics where your reputation also effects how people interact with you and based in the same area as that Fall Out 1 & 2 was set(New California Republic?). Not only that, but like Fall Out 1 and 2, you can now "modify" your weapons. So you don't have to chuck your weapon away so quickly in favour of the "higher" level gun. Hmm...I'm not a Fall Out fan...
  21. The old Xbox did a game called Brotherhood of Steel, part of the fallout series, focusing on the one of three initiates from the BoS. Not to be confused with Fallout Tactics which was really good. It was crap because the camera angle was annoying at times, there was actually very little interaction with anything to do with the BoS, no real customisation compared to the previous versions. You could only play one three characters: A ginger bird who's key skill was dual wielding pistols/subs A big brainless "strong guy" who could carry the heaviest armour and weapons (Win!) or a Ghoul would was resistant to radiation and could heal in it but was really, really weak. I bought it because I did like all the previous incarnations.
  22. I spent absolutely ages on this game, with all the add ons and I still felt it wasn't long enough. Sign of a great game. Just like all the other Fallouts.* *Brotherhood of Steel on Xbox was shit. It doesn't count.
