  1. Nevermind - ordered a new one from Toyota (Grimsby). £400 lighter. [sAD][/sAD] [sHOCK][/sHOCK] Could have been worse. Was ironically cheaper than anything I could typically find.
  2. Alrighty if no one's got one going spare - could anyone make a good recommendation for a source?
  3. Hello boys and girls, I just failed my MOT (Wahoo?) I need a new backbox apparently. Pretty sharpish, like in the next week or two. What I know is my current one is a stainless steel one, and held in place by two bolts. My mechanic says if I can get a gasket to go with it - bonus. So if anyone has one knocking arround in good condition or can put me in touch with someone, do let me know. So long as it fits and passes the MOT, that's all that matters to me. Cheers, Dan
  4. Afternoon Ladies & Gents, My dear ole brother popped over after work on Friday to show off his motor. The New CRZ. Well, I say his motor, he was only allowed to have it for one day. It's so that when he's queried on it by customers he can show some understanding. I must admit it was a fine machine. It's the first cool looking Hybrid, my understanding is the main lump is 1.5 L Petrol engine and he advises me it is faster than the (now let me get this right...) DIESEL Civic Type S. 0-60 in 9 seconds which I think you would have to agree is quite respectable for a Hybrid. It does have some funky quirks. I draw your attention to the fin on the roof. Very sharky. There's slivers of carbon fibre all over it. At first when I started the engine and you get that almost silent start that you get with most hybrids but give it a blip and it 'sounds' surprisingly throaty. Retrospectively I wish I had the foresight to take a picture of the engine bay, but I didn't - silly me. I think the sad thing is they are only bringing about 3,000 of these in the UK (the excuse I was told by bro and his wife, who both work for Honda is the exchange rate is unfavourable). The one in the picture is the top of the line, all bells and whistles and costs arround £24k. Anyway, I thought some people here would be interested to see it before it releases in late August 2010. I was on my way home...over took me on the slip road and must have scared the living sh*t out of anyone he overtook. There was a moment when I could see nothing but dust. Loud. Fast. Amazing. But obviously driving well within the speed limit and driving consensciously....or however you spell it.
  6. Great Night Lui. Was there on my ownsome but a fantastic line up of cars and quite the crowd. What the hell was up that white transit van!?!
  7. No wait, I take back what I said earlier. I'm waiting for this guy to say: 'Hold on Blud, ma badz it's a TT, innit - Twin Turbo, like - ei iz such a busta, I was on about wevver it woz Totally Tooled, I fink.' *Shudders at the self inflicted bad grammar & feels street cred slipping away*
  8. I'm just waiting for someone on here to sell the poor guy a couple of coke cans sexed up as mint twin turbos for a modest £1,500.
  9. Try the Best Western Moathouse. Its pretty much next door to the terminals. Don't go for the Mercure next door. Although it is slightly cheaper,it is SH*T!

Yeah, sticking super in the tank comes to about £50 a week for the daily commute.

I pay just over £600 for 3rd party fire and theft on my imported NA with Sky. 3 years no claims bonus and aged 27. I have declared my modifications and live in an 'ok' area. The general consensus sounds to be adrian flux or sky. I have heard good things about Bell. The good thing about an import, although you pay higher insurance than a uk spec, you pay less road tax. Loophole FTW

  13. I'd be interested in the front shocks.
  14. Most definately thanks
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, but... 1st post. Not too keen, scuffed and looks like someone else is going to buy them. 2nd post. Beaten to the punch somewhat dodgily. I've got first dibbs if it falls through. 3rd post. Seen those too but I'd like to find something cheaper. Doesn't necessarily have to be glass. Currently enquiring with Supraloopy about his buy and swap lights. Fingers crossed. But thanks for the suggestions.
  16. *Bump* I still need a set of headlights suitable for a Jspec in time for an MOT in June. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll go to Steve Manley. So if you got a suitable pair of non-misting/yellowing pair of headlights LET ME KNOW! Dan
  17. Personally, I think something more than just a namebadge, but not something so full on (and expensive) as a jacket. Something in between. It's been said a couple of times, but I think namebadges are abit 'officey/geeky' and jackets would be perhaps too keen. Especially if they look sh*t. I reckon an arm or even wrist band would be cool, may be a T-shirt, too. Could have the site on the sleeve, the logo on the back and the username / real name on your tit/back of the neck.
  18. Likewise. It's something I've been keen to do, too.
  19. That looks like the carpark in the Westfield Shopping Centre?
  20. Very nice - my old man had one of these, too. It was the greatest fun you can get at such a great price. Excellent price, mate. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a buyer for it. Dan
  21. I agree that it's 30 for a reason, but if you feel strongly about it I'm sure you can get out of it based on a technicality. There's a guy ("Mr Loophole") who has got people out of more outrageous & damning situations based on technicalities where police officers have missed out on carrying out procedural requirements or not filled in the forms correctly.
  22. Hi guys, I've spent kitty this month for car repairs but need to source some new headlights with a view to purchasing them by the end of May. I stumbled on a link on here a week ago with instructions to talk to some guy at Toyota who does a discount to members. Anyone able to direct to said link or even offer a set of new/newish/good condition headlights, suitable for a Jspec? Cheers Gents, Dan
