Afternoon Ladies & Gents,
My dear ole brother popped over after work on Friday to show off his motor. The New CRZ. Well, I say his motor, he was only allowed to have it for one day. It's so that when he's queried on it by customers he can show some understanding.
I must admit it was a fine machine. It's the first cool looking Hybrid, my understanding is the main lump is 1.5 L Petrol engine and he advises me it is faster than the (now let me get this right...) DIESEL Civic Type S. 0-60 in 9 seconds which I think you would have to agree is quite respectable for a Hybrid. It does have some funky quirks. I draw your attention to the fin on the roof. Very sharky. There's slivers of carbon fibre all over it.
At first when I started the engine and you get that almost silent start that you get with most hybrids but give it a blip and it 'sounds' surprisingly throaty.
Retrospectively I wish I had the foresight to take a picture of the engine bay, but I didn't - silly me.
I think the sad thing is they are only bringing about 3,000 of these in the UK (the excuse I was told by bro and his wife, who both work for Honda is the exchange rate is unfavourable). The one in the picture is the top of the line, all bells and whistles and costs arround £24k.
Anyway, I thought some people here would be interested to see it before it releases in late August 2010.
