Not good! Some arse put a pole through mine last night! Is it worth going through insurance as will it not affect your claim history and increase premiums?

Hey Y'all, My Seatbelt has bitten the proverbial bullet and no longer wants to play. It's refused to rewind for a while but now it won't move in or out of its home. Has anyone ever tried to take it apart and refresh a seatbelt tensioner? I'm guessing that there are compressed gubbings inside that will try and evacuate if I open it up so i'm not jumping into the task. If it's easier to replace, i might just do that. (Keron, if reading this, can you please PM me a price if you have one in stock - or anybody else if you have one) Cheers

North East - Weekly Wednesday Meet (6:00pm - 8:00pm)
Reaver replied to qwarrior's topic in England - North East
Hey guys, A chap flagged me down the other night along the coast road coming back from Whitley Bay and told me about the local meet. I'll try and get down to the next one to say hi -
Ordinarily i'd be very very up for this, but i'm pulling an R33 engine in the morning then heading to Manchester in the afternoon I'm just down the road from hinckley or bosworth water too so next time im in. Also for all the other Midland owners, I'm looking to re-establish the Japmids monthly meets very shortly moving from Six Hills in Leicester and the Bubble Inn to somewhere more central. Ideas for locations welcome at this point. If you've not been to the forum before please check out www.japmids.com. We have over 1000 members with all manner of jap cars from starlets to an NSX or two, and would welcome a few more supra owners into the fold

I absolutely love this game. Graphically it is stunning, the DTS surround sound is first class and the gameplay draws you in nicely. Ive played about half of the campaign, and its very well put together. As well as the usual linear paths filled with bad guys, there are a lot of set pieces that work really well - at times it feels as though you are right there being overrun and shooting for your life! For me the online game is the big draw. Ive played hours and hours online since Friday and it keeps getting better. The new abilites and character options as you rank up keep the matches fresh and makes you want to keep playing that bit longer to reach Captain or Major. The maps are well designed and most are pretty much symmetrical - removing any bias to one side or another. They can be set to large, medium or small versions - removing or adding areas dependant on number of players - but even the larger maps place you in gunfight almost immediately with no running around aimlessly looking for someone to shoot! As well as ranking up to achieve your new weapons and character classes, Sony award the top 1, 3, 6 & 10% of players a citation every week which is displayed with your rank for all to see that you kick as or play way too much (the latter in my case i think as i somehow ended up in the 10% this week!). All in all the game is truly amazing, and its nice to have a game that lives up to most of the hype it recieves. Its not quite the 10 out of 10 game predicted a few months ago, and probably isnt the greatest FPS ever ( i still slightly prefer GOW2 & Halo3 ) but it is one of the best shooters around and probably the best game on the PS3 so far. Anyone who has the ps3 should buy it without question, and anyone who doesnt have a ps3 should seriously start considering the purchase!

haven't tried the vred's but i've got 452's on mine and am quite happy with them. Havent pushed the car yet with them on, crap weather and all, but they already seem to be gripping well compared to the aging proxies on my stock wheels.

I bought both the 360 and ps3 on launch and although i think the ps3 is the more reliable and more powerful machine, i find myself on the xbox a lot more than the ps3. I use both for hd content, with the hd-dvd add on for the 360 and the BD player with the ps3. (granted hddvd is a dead media, but with 20 movies to play on it and others priced at £3 on ebay and in gamestation, its still alive in my house ) I stream a lot of content from the pc and both play the files well, and both play pics and music as you would expect. I think the option of what to buy comes down to three things... 1) what machines your friends have for system link/online play/borrowing games perhaps 2) If you want to pay £40 a year for online gaming (superior though it is to the free PSN) 3) What games you want to play! While most tend to be multiplatform, the exclusives such as halo 3 or killzone 2 will be a factor. Personally my mates have a mix of both consoles and i like being able to play any good game regardless of machine so got both If i am pushed, i would say i prefer the cross box as a gaming machine. In fact most games i buy are on that format (gamerpoint whore lol), i prefer the controller and the lack of constant firmware updates. BUT with very few xbox exclusives left to be released, I would buy the PS3 in anticipation of killzone 2, GT5 and god of war 3. Plus the blu ray player is a major bonus seeing as buying dvd's is pretty much as pointless as buying VHS tapes, and you'll have to cross over to HD eventually. Might as well get that collection started now rather than later. So to sum up, much like most top gear reviews.... The Xbox is better but buy the PS3

I just got all giddy like a schoolgirl I was hoping for more from the trailer, but the prospect of the movie is awesome enough ! Especially as its the same cast and production team and shouldnt be just a cash cow sequel (looking at you mummy tomb of dragon emperor)

Sorry to hear this chap, Glad you are okay - looks like someone was watching over you! I know exactly what you are feeling with regards to driving and the constant 'flashbacks'. I had a crash similar to this just before the start of 2008 - an idot pulled out of a blind junction on a country road in front of me and it sent the back end of my skyline into a spin as i swerved. I ended up going down the road completely side on before regaining traction and heading over a ditch into a tree at 40 mph! I had injuries like yours, whiplash (hurts like a bugger looking down doesnt it lol) and the most amazing purple and yellow bruise across my abdomen from the belt. The most problematic was the constant visions of the tree coming towards me day and night. Playing Stuntman ignition that i had got for christmas, lasted 1 minute before i had to turn it off. It takes a few days but it will soon stop. Driving will be an overly cautious duty for a few weeks, but you've got to keep getting behind the wheel. I couldnt even be a passsenger for a week after mine without watching every tree and hedgerow with panic, so youre already ahead of me there! Try and avoid playing any car games on the console and keep driving as much as possible and you'll soon be able to put it behind you mate. Hope things settle down quickly for you and you can just worry about the slow ass insurance payout

Didn't think you'd be able to stay away for long Quite a familiar sight having a red supe back on your driveway eh mate lol

Blu-Ray is the way to go. In a few years DVD's will go the same way as VHS tapes and BD (Blu-ray Disc) will be the common media format. Don't let the price of discs put you off, they are coming down rapidly. You can get a good selection for between £9.99 and £14.99 (which until recently was the standard dvd price) If you have a HD ready tv then jump in, you'll be amazed at the quality in comparison to dvd - in the picture, sound and the extra features it allows. If you don't have a HDTV, then you wont notice a benefit so you might as well get another £15 dvd player. As for choosing between the BD player and PS3, it depends on if you or any family visitors might play games on it. If so then i'd recommend the console, and unless you are going to store loads of movies and about 1000 CD albums on there, the 40GB hard drive size will be ample. If gaming isn't likely to feature, then the BD player is the cheaper option.

Problem with banning things is that you dont cure the "human" element of the problem. They ban the activity without addressing the behaviour or attitude that lead to the person undertaking the action in the first place. Taking hunting as an example, if people, and i'm afraid this must mean children, were educated properly we would not see this problem. If they were taught more effective and less cruel ways of separating human existance and wildlife the problem would be cured. Not overnight but the long term benefits would be huge. It's like the debate on guns. A gun does not pick itself up and shoot twenty people, the human element did that. Banning the weapon does not stop the human element harming someone. They will either find a knife to perform the same act or illegally obtain a firearm. Same with speeding, wrong approach. The government fines people for breaking the speed limit. What they should be doing is educating drivers to a higher standard so that they know what speeds are appropriate in a given area/circumstance and act accordingly. In this manner I think you will find that automotive accidents are reduced, pedestrian deaths are reduced and traffic flow overall is benefitted due to more thoughtful driving. The lowest common denominator in life is the human factor. Alter it and you alter society.

You should run for office, you'd get my vote mate.

Ban hunting, but give us back our shooting sports and everyone is happy. (I enjoy shooting paper targets by the way, never fired a shot against a living creature. I also dissaprove of hunting.) The hunters can now hunt with rifles, even from horseback if they so wish. Rifles are far more humane, when used effectively, than a pack of dogs. (A hunter would have to pass some form of shooting assessment in order to be given a hunting permit. This would be to ensure you were accurate enough to kill what you were firing without causing suffering.) Now this will spark up the gun saga again... As far as the gun debate goes, guns are banned in this country and people are still being shot... The people perpetrating these acts are criminals, they break the law, if they are the kind of person that will kill another human being in cold blood, they are likely to care little about a ban on guns. Ergo, the ban on guns is ineffective by the very nature of the people they are trying to stop using them. And last time I checked, an Ingram Mac-10 or AK47 have never been legal firearms in this country. Just my two pennies.
