  1. I have a 1997 manual TT two years now and it always clunked changing to second when cold,I had a 5 speed N/A before and the gear change was much smoother and more positive but then it only had 220hp to handle. I agree with what other members claim it`s a bit agricultural but strong. It sounds like a rare car VVTI and Manual. Good Luck with it. Frank.
  2. Thanks all for your replys,I intend to change the filter and oil this weekend before I take it to a Garage. Toyota main dealers in Dublin won`t service or quote parts for imports.Big Deal as I know that Toyota Supra sales in Ireland totaled 2(Both in 1994)UK type. Anyway thanks for interest and I will post the results. Regards, Frank.
  3. Thanks for your comments,I just hate RED Lights. I have the supra nearly two years now and It has 28,000 miles on the clock.I am sure this warning light used to go out immediately on startup. I was told today that if the oil filter anti-Drain back valve is knackered it will take a couple of seconds for oil pressure to build up when starting!. I intend to put 10W-40 in this weekend any change the oil filter again. Any more ideas, Frank.
  4. Hi all, I have noticed recently that the red oil warning light stays on for a couply of seconds when starting the engine from cold the yellow goes out immediately. Is this normal or should i get it checked out.New filter and Mobil 1, 0W-40 fitted. Any help welcome. Frank 97 Jap manual TT.
  5. Hi all, I read somewhere that when the Jap Supra has the Speed Limiter removed or speedo converted to MPH that this has an effect on the way the Power Steering works. Any info appreciated. Frank.
  6. Hi Rob I had the same problem ,speedo was reading 15mph over right through the range when checked with GPS.All I needed to do was re-locate the needle back by 15mph.This sounds easy but you cant do it while the car is stopped as the needle was up against the stop.Fixing was tricky had to do it while on the move and it has stayed in the correct position since. Hope this is of some help Frank Jap 1997 MkIV 4 6sp
  7. Paul, I noticed that I had no ABS 2 fuse but when I looked at where the fuse would locate there were no metal contacts at ABS 2 in the fuse box. My car is a Jap 1997 TT manual with UK spec Brakes and the ABS is working ok. Hope this is some help. Regards Frank.
