  1. there is more to it than that. I have made a lot of moulds of bodykits both originals and copies over the years and there was no reason to do this to it. I dont want to get into an argument about which looks better (the so called 'original' does in my opinion anyway however the more I look at this red one the more I like it) but I can tell you right now someone has spent a hell of a lot of time reworking certain aspects of this kit and it wasn't 'just because its a copy'. The time involved in making these changes is massive- not to mention the symmetry involved etc. Still there must be a valid reason unless someone had frankensteined two kits- that is a more likely possibility. It has always been a two piece front bumper so there was never any need to make these changes 'jus to make a copy'- I know as I myself have had to make one piece bumpers two pieces in the past to mould them properly- that in itself is not easy either but it is much much more than that.
  2. I have this same front bar and it is different to the standard veilside c2 kit. I dont know why this is but if you look closely it is actually quite a bit different- the front nose is flattened, the actual 'mouth' is smaller and the section below the main vents is filled in more- does anyone know why this has been done? it is actually similiar in some ways to the MR2 C2 kit in the last pic http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107534&stc=1&d=1270048221 http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107535&stc=1&d=1270048221 http://mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=107536&stc=1&d=1270048454
  3. oops sorry man... tbh I was jesting in good fun though. down boy down... hear me roar...meow... **edit.. damn Geo that looks a clean 93...mines a 99 and if it looks that good when I am done I will be a very happy camper
  4. Because - A: I dont need new brakes- I never said I did- I merely said if someone buys them and they turn out to be good let me know.. B: I wouldn't be driving towards a wall if i was testing new *unknown* brakes (but its good idea why dont you buy them and give it a go? make sure you brake late though.. C: If you do buy them and you dont hit the wall and they work out ok let me know.. as previously said: flame away... gollee gee batman I love internet forums...
  5. that and the fact the only thing the guy has sold previously is one set of VW brakes and a heap of PS3 games....
  6. I think you may have missed the rest of my post: "I would just be a little more careful when driving spiritedly until I was 100% happy with their operation" or "but I do understand and stated earlier your life depends on your brakes so keep that in mind" and then in a subsequent post: "I suppose at the end of the day you have to realise its a 50/50 gamble- and with brakes, yes, it probably inst worth that gamble.." And I believe you are running toyota japan brakes that were standard fitment to UK supra's- or maybe yours are speshal and made by toyota in England- mine are Japanese Toyota brakes..- then again I dont know very much.. I run Nascar spec outlaw racing brakes on my other ride - I dont like the insinuation that I would like to gamble with my life or anyone elses... My point was simply dont dismisss something just because : A: its made in another asian country other than Japan B: you dont know much about it (every company has to start somewhere) and C: because they are cheaper than others... that said as I believe I inferred by my posts it probably isnt worth risking with brakes but if you are willing to do a little R&D yourself maybe they would be ok- maybe they would be cr*p.. maybe with a change of pads they would be as good as toyota UK brakes... flame away people...
  7. Actually I agree totally, but on the other hand I have seen a hell of a lot of good copies of *SOME* stuff come out of asia. Then again I have seen some bad stuff (chinese wastegates get stuck open - seats as you said just fold up in a crash etc). I suppose at the end of the day you have to realise its a 50/50 gamble- and with brakes, yes, it probably inst worth that gamble..

    twin turbo power

Well around here if you want to be taken seriously make sure you use correct spelling and grammar- this can be forgiven if english is your second langauge but I have noticed the people on this forum will take a lot more time for your questions and offer advice if you use correct spelling etc. jus something i have noticed... and read all the time. There is a hell of a lot of knowledgable people on this forum who I know for a fact have better things to do but they consistently help us all out when asked- no matter how big or small the questions.. BTW welcome to the forum and as was said pay the membership- if you own a supra it will be the best money you ever spend. Personally I bought the 20+ years coz' I plan on having one supra or another for a very very long time.. **edit** I think I just figured out why they are all so particular around here about spelling etc- its because they are all english on this forum (well mostly) and it is after all the "english" language- so they must take it personal when we bastardise it... food for thought
  9. For that money bugger it i would give am a crack TBH. hell it isn't rocket science with brakes- I know I am gonna get flamed but they are simply hydraulic pistons which need to withstand ceratin amounts of generated heat. (granted if I was tracking I would definately NOT use these but for general everyday driving and bling status why not?). That said I know people who have cooked brembo's on the track and the seals then leaked- admittedly the bloody discs looked like a turbo manifold after a hard run when this happened (glowing red like you see some of them race car pictures are).. I would just be a little more careful when driving spiritedly until I was 100% happy with their operation. Your life depends on your brakes when driving I know but I am just saying in all probability they will be fine- hell he even says in the listing you can use Brembo pads in them- all the asians do is buy one set of high spec brakes etc and reverse engineer them so in all likelyhood they are pretty close copy's of some other big name brand. Just my 02c and as I said I know I am gonna get flamed over it- but I do understand and stated earlier your life depends on your brakes so keep that in mind. But if you get some and find them ok PM me so I can get some lol- go the guinea pig...!! Does anyone know would these rattle like the reports I have heard about other cheaper 2 piece rotor kits?
  10. Hey j80leo I dont suppose you could tell me the exact width end to end of that bar?
  11. Excellent. Thanks for the idea, photos n info- helped me too.
  12. I have one of these arriving next week- I will be doing what j80leo suggests.
  13. the fastest NA supra is the one with the biggest turbo fitted to it obvioulsy its no longer NA but it is the fastest. You can't have both- N/A and fastest I mean...
  14. -I got them from a local rubber and foam shop- I guess they are not really 'special' - I should have said "adhesive backed high density foam that can handle heat" but it was a bit to much to type. Any sort of high quality foam strips or even possible rubber pads on all four corners- just to stop the two coolers from coming into contact and wearing a hole in either one / each other. I actually have to disconnect the factory one again myself as i had hooked it back up after buying the car as I hated the sound of the HKS BV.. Ill give some more feedback when I get this going but I am 99.98% sure it will be fine (not least of because the car had the hks one on before and the fact I have done and know many people who are running atmo BV's)
  15. I dont think I will have any trouble as the BV that was fitted when I got the car was an atmo venting hks one about 5 inches before the T/B and it was fine with that (just sounded silly the whistling sound it made)
  16. You can see in these pics the room still left between the oil cooler and intercooler. I mounted the oil cooler hard up against the air con condensor (radiator) because I used special foam strips about 1.5cm thick and as long as the cooler is wide on the top and bottom on the oil cooler- this way its in there very secure and won't wear against anything.
  17. There is ample room for the oil cooler between the intercooler and the air con rad.- I put it there because it is a 30 row cooler there is no way it would fit in the passenger side in front of the wheel and it was very simple to fab a flat plate aluminium bar bracket to mount it there.. it couldnt go on the drivers side because that is where my P/S cooler is - plus it wouldn't fit there either and with it located where it is now I can have my remote oil filter mounted in front of the passenger wheel. Pudsey- as for the AFMU with BV it doesn't cause a problem on any other car i have done this on (all nissans tbh- but still 3 litre straight six motors very similiar to the 2jz in basic princiapals) and I dont see how, other than overfuelling, it will cause any problem..
  18. cheers. I searched ebay.com not uk- Im in australia so I bet shipping on those would be killer
  19. hmmm... now here I didnt think it would pose a problem... but from what I know it should be fine- I havent actually had the car running with them yet but when I bought the car it had a HKS ssqv BV on it. From my undertanding even though it has AFMU and not MAF it doesnt matter- the throttle is closed at this stage so the air flow being registered passing the AFMU doent matter- it may dump fuel into the cylinders (which on my nissan motors setup like this causes a very nice flame out the exhaust) but other than that it doesn make any difference does it? someone weigh in on this please... as for Dibbs asking "cant understand why you went with 2 BOVs with the power you are running" - I dont plan on staying at this power forever and am merely doing all these things first before I go single - or maybe some of the JDM hybrids speed for sale sell... either way I just think it looks better with two and it sounds better also if they are running different spring rates as one opens then the other opens.. I guess it really comes own to its just the way I wanted it- also so you can see them through the vents I think it looks better with two... **EDIT DIbbs your car is sex.... damn... my dream supra... aerotop - manual - single and blue (I love rsp & I think that looks hot in that colour blue) !!!
  20. does anyone know if you can / where to get 2 piece rotors for a TT with standard big brakes?
  21. thats been for sale before- looks like its painted with watercolours and a paint brush.. poor car.
  22. Just finished fitting my new intercooler with 50mm tial blow off valves, my power steering cooler and my 30 row oil cooler. I must say i am quite happy- I wanted the B/v's just visible through the front bar side vents and they sit quite nicely and are just visible. I'm not 100% happy with where I have the oil cooler located- its sitting a bit high but I figure as I dont do any track work, and its a 30 row of which the bottom 10 rows are low enough to be getting direct air flow from the front 'mouth' of the bumper but behind th IC it will be ok... You can see the BV's in this pic and the oil cooler poking up in the centre behind the intercooler: Power steering cooler sitting behind the drivers side I/C piping BV just visible below and behind the indicator not very good lighting but you can just make out the BV's poking up inside the side vents

I can give you a link for a company in china that makes these TS style bonnest that will fit with standard latches and no bonnet pins- HOWEVER the standard latches need slight modifications- the tiniest bit of metal needs to be removed from the latching mechanisms. One other thing to note is the bonnets these guys do dont have the extra vent over the turbos- I had one on my previous supra, I have takn it off before selling and will be fitting to my new supra. Hit me with a PM if you want the info.
  24. touche' hehehe- >walks off to stand by car in a "james dean" style...
