  1. I've still got Supra too, though she's developed some engine problems in the last week so she'll be off the road while I figure out and sort that
  2. Yup, that's the one. The torque app reffered to it as that when I had it disconnected.
  3. I finally managed to get to the bottom of this. Turns out it was a faulty Oil Control Valve (OCV). It never appeared as a fault but after finding a lot of information on the clublexus forums about the VVTi, there were quite a few people with similar problems and all had solved it by replacing this. Replaced it tonight after picking up the part and its idling exactly as it should be!
  4. Update... Tried it again and this time in worked, however, I still have the high idle when its warm. Every time I clear the error codes from the ECU, when the high revs start its the same error (P1346 VVT system) that flags up. I'm guessing not much is known about fault finding on the VVTi? I also spoke to the local Toyota garage and they said they could have a look at it, unless someone can suggest a respected garage around central Scotland I would be better going to?
  5. Last week my supra developed a high idle problem once it was up to temp (sat at just over 1000rpm). Now this was only when warm, couple of times I tried it, it would idle as it should while cold/warming up but once it was upto temp it would idle at 1000rpm and feel rough. After having a wee nosey on here, yesterday I disconnected the battery to reset the ECU and since connecting it back up things are worse. Struggles to catch and looks like its now miss-firing. All I have done is disconnect the battery for couple of hours, reconnected and started. I let it run for briefly to see if it would clear in case it was the ECU re-learning but it never. Also there have been no warning lights come on, however, I used the torque app yesterday to see if there were any error codes and there were 2 showing, P1346 and P1349 both of which seem to be faults with the VVT. Im not sure how accurate the app/error codes are or if these occured with the high idle or not (last time I checked a year or so ago it was clear). Have I done something I shouldnt have? could there be a common problem causing both symptoms? Any advice or thoughts are much appreciated.
