  1. Desirable model MKIII's (the 3.0 homologation cars and the late r154 1jz cars) aren't far off mk4 prices in Japan now.
  2. Maybe worth trying to sell it into the Japanese market? As said the UK market isn't quite there for cars of this price point, but there have been a fair few Supras in Japan go up for more than this. These guys should be able to help http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/index_sm.cgi Other RHD markets include South Africa and Australia.
  3. Some scrote has driven into my car, thankfully it looks as if his has borne the brunt of it, and left a load of his paint on mine, so hopefully there's no serious damage, but they have smashed my rear side marker. Thought I'd see if anyone had a spare before buying new
  4. Didn't a club trader melt a forum members engine because of a bad EMU ecu (not emanage ultimate)
  5. If I end up breaking mine, my shell will be available. It will be expensive, but you won't find better.
  6. Look at the number of chasers, soarers, aristos etc on the drift scene running big single setups, and giving them loads of abuse. The only issue with the small case, IMO, is if you are doing lots of aggressive launches from being stationary, and running big power and big tyres. For most, especially those with road cars, the small case is absolutely fine until you start looking at big power, maybe 700ft/lb plus.
  7. True, but mechanical faults are often easier and cheaper to fix than rust buying a car in the UK is no guarantee that it won't blow up on the drive home either, or that the unobtanium 6 speed getrag gearbox won't start crunching within days or weeks. At least if you buy through a dealer you have some sort of comeback.
  8. Both, and the exchange rate is pretty dire which really doesn't help. On the plus side, you can be sure with a fresh import that you're getting something relatively rust free
  9. I would recommend getting in touch with Torque GT http://torque-gt.co.uk But bear in mind that these days importing a Supra is an expensive affair
  10. I believe one sold in the US within the last few years for over $1m. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.carscoops.com/2015/08/toyota-2000gt-hits-auction-block-at.html The R34 (with the exception of the Z tune) will never have to potential of the 2000gt due to the limited numbers of the Toyota built, but these special edition R34s have proven to make excellent investments. Certainly so with the NUR and Z Tune cars.
  11. It is lovely, but that price OTT. A delivery miles NUR sold for less than that recently. Probably a £140k-150k car I'd say. That company is notorious for overpricing though.
  12. No one is blaming you unfortunately the import paperwork on many Japanese imports has been done badly, and a lot are registered to the wrong year. We were just pointing out that it impossible to be a 98 jspec tt6 and for it not to have vvti but the year of manufacture is stamped clearly on the vin plate if you have a look it will more than likely be a 96 car.
  13. Late 97 would make it a vvti too. It's either a 96 or early 97 car, that it may or may not have sold first in 1998 does not make it a 1998 car. Have you checked the vin details?
  14. Again, there is more to this community than just the cars. Start here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/forumdisplay.php?11-Off-Topic
  15. Here's a tip; have a look at your abysmal post history. There is much, much more to this community than buying and selling cars. It's easy. Pick a thread, any thread (not to do with sales or pricing), and contribute something positive.
  16. Yeah I fully admit that (I did a few posts ago), I'm just sick of these constant wanted threads clogging the classifieds, in which all he does is downtalk other people's cars. Anyway, he wont have that to worry about any more.
  17. As said, blocking you now. And good luck getting any help in the future with an attitude like that. I'm yet to see any positive contribution you make to this community.
  18. To be fair, this is for a family member, but if you think it is anything like just pointing at an advert on the internet, you have no idea. Each car takes hours of my time. I shouldn't really have dragged the OP's tread off topic, I'll just treat them with the contempt they deserve and add him to the block list
  19. I've always thought I've been pretty fair and rational when it comes to values, and I factor in many aspects including values in other markets and their bearing on potential future increases / decreases. Don't just take it from me, I've helped many club members value and make adverts for their cars over the years, and had nothing but appreciation gor doing so. I've even advised certain club traders on certain Japanese cars in the past. I also consult on cars as investments on a regular basis, and am currently brokering a deal to bring a very nice limited edition R34 GTR to the uk as a long term investment. I assume you have similar credentials? I've not even put my car up for sale, merely an 'interest' thread with a starting price. I've built a very high spec, high quality car, and my pricing strategy reflects that, and the fact it deserves a decent return.
  20. Can't wait to tune in to next week's thread... "My aunt's dog needs a sex change, so I'm looking for a 1000hp 6 speed for £5k"
  21. Please, not another one of these threads. Hunt down the bargains if you must, but please stop trying to make out that every bargain on the market is the going rate for every car, and spamming the classifieds with wanteds.

    Photobucket

I'm going to leave mine for a while and see if they sort it. If not I'll also get all my pictures off and never use photobucket again.

    Photobucket

Mine is only at 23% of my free allowance according to my photobucket, yet my pictures have stopped showing too. Oh well, only 57 pages worth of countless posts and pictures to sort through to make my build thread work again...
  24. It's a facelift, just been fitted with pre facelift headlights, so as always check for signs of previous front end damage The 'crossover' cars had both wing and bumper repeaters.
  25. Built autobox would be by far the cheapest option, followed by an R154 (but from what I gather these aren't up to much more than 600hp long term).
