  1. All mk4 Supras have aluminium bonnets (except the factory built trd3000gt cars).
  2. Whether this thing wears a Gazoo / Toyota / Supra badge or not, this is the nearest thing to a Supra replacement that we will be getting. There won't be some super coupe coming after this wearing a Supra badge I'm afraid. This is the new Supra, in the same way that the Supra line (especially the mk4) was the new 2000GT. The latest nurburgring videos seem to suggest the test car has a turbocharged straight six, so all is not lost
  3. E90 335i seems like the nearest thing to a modern day Supra in terms of tuneability. Available with a strong 6 speed manual, a dct, and an auto gearbox, and in saloon, estate and coupe bodies. Bolt on a single turbo and make 700hp on stock internals. And they're pretty affordable, and coming down in price. Seems like a winning combination to me Think a clean, stock, low miles E46 M3 would be a good buy at the moment too, can see the prices for those soaring soon.
  4. Replacing the balljoint is not possible. Took one into work today and confirmed that as the arm itself forms part of the balljoint, removing one would be without damaging the arm, and fitting a new one would probably destroy the new balljoint.
  5. This is the problem with all of them. They are VERY durable gearboxes, but you just dont know how its been treated. There are plenty of cases of people buying supposed low miles getrag boxes (funny how all the ones that come up for sale are low mileage...), only to have them whine and crunch when installed. I would have to drive the donor car before I'd even consider forking out £4k on a used one.
  6. 700 what? There are countless Corvettes, Mustangs, Vipers, Camaros etc in the states running FAR in excess of 700hp / 700lb/ft through the t56 magnum. You can even buy uprated parts off the shelf is the stock magnum isnt up to the job. And if you do break one? They can be rebuilt easily, and parts are relatively cheap. A brand new magnum is cheaper than a used v161.
  7. You can buy two 6 speed Adton Martin DB9 manual gearboxes for the price of a Supra one Thankfully these prices won't last long now, the various gearbox conversions have come on a long way, and the new ring and pinion gears will mean the T56 finally becomes suitable for these cars.
  8. I've had this recently, pull needle off gauge, brim the tank, turn ignition to position 2, wait a couple of minutes then put needle back carefully (only push it just over half way on) on tank full line. My fuel light now comes on when the needle hits the bottom bar, which i reckon is about right.

    Valuation help

That facelift aero has to be worth more than £10k. Its a very rare car in great condition and a great colour. If i were selling it i think my starting price would be something like £15k.
  10. Not quite, the change came with vvti, not facelift. These are suitable for pre vvti (although they could be used on a vvti with a standalone ecu and some wiring) so these are the same as found on facelift, pre vvti cars. Vvti use only 3 coilpacks, different to these as they utilise wasted spark.
  11. I dont disagree with you, I haven't called it a scam and i dont think it is, but the recent gains (and falls) are a result of speculation and hype, not 'mining', and as such it qualifies as gambling IMO. I only have a basic understanding of crypto currencies, and the moral issues with it are enough to stop me using it In addition to the aforementioned issues, how much tax is being avoided by *some* users of this? Quite a lot I'd wager. Also, those naysayers in the early days of the internet were somewhat proved correct by the '.com' bubble. Bursting
  12. I wonder how many people lost hige sums of money this week, and all they have to show for it is a similar screen grab? You've been lucky thats all. Many won't be as lucky, and due to overhype in the media, and threads like this, there will be a lot of people who have destroyed large amounts of their savings. It is not a tangible asset, it is not something that is valued by true market forces, its recent 'success' is merely due to speculation, as is its more recent collapse. Warning people to be careful with such a volatile "investment" isn't foolish. Merry Christmas
  13. The recent fluctuations are just a symptom of what "crypto currencies" actually are - gambling. They aren't currencies, as they can't be used in any practical sense, and they aren't invrstments, as they aren't founded on anything tangible. I suspect they will go back up (to what level I have no idea), but these are not safe investments, and should be treated like any other form of gambling. IE; only spend what you can comfortably afford to lose.
  14. Give them a call. Quite a few businesses are open today so you never know.
  15. See if whifbitz (enfield) are open? Not too far from you, and might keep those in stock?

    Cheap head units

Seen these start appearing on classic 911's on the market, probably not very cheap at all, but a nice retro looking unti with modern functionality for anyone with a classic or modern classic. https://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/classic/genuineparts/producthighlights/navi/
  17. Theres a thread on here somewhere about a forum member buying a car from him, in which he both ripped him off and tried to hide a lot, and actually palmed him off with a different car, which had a dodgy MOT (brakes were dangerous iirc) Another well respected forum member and trader viewed another one of his cars, and if I remember right the rrader said "it was one of the worst i have seen", while restless were trying to palm it off as a good condition car. I think it was also cat d, which he hadnt declared. A quick look over the cars he sells tells you his stock is generally overpriced tat, thoughim sure he does end up with the occasional good one. But all the signs are there that he is buying poor examples, tarting them up in dishonest manner, and asking market value for them. Strangely enough, dodgy car traders often come across as nice and straightforward people.
  18. Cyamans are lovely things, but IMO while there are exceptions, a flat six can't match the sound and character of a straight six. (very little can) Especially when combined with a decent RWD platform.
  19. He does, and hes also on here in some capacity at least.
  20. God knows how bad the paint must be if hes leaving the wrap on in that condition
  21. Quick update I still have the Supra, and although I will probably still sell it at some point next year, things have developed which means the urgency has gone... Been at college since September now studying mechanics, and it turns out that I absolutely love it I had 3 exams a few weeks back, and got 93%, 100% and 100%, which according to one of my tutors is the highest they can recall any student having got, ever Anyway, an apprenticeship opportunity came up with Volvo, and I'm glad to say that I fought off the competition and got the job, which I start on Monday. Instead of me having to pay to attend college, Volvo pay for all my tuition, and i obviously get paid for working there too, so its really a game changer for me. I've been using my Supra as a daily , even at college, but im not going to put loads of miles on the Supra sat in local traffic, so I'll be buying a cheap diesel run about in the next week or so, and putting the Supra away for a few months. Except for the fuel economy (which is actually very reasonable for the sort of car it is), she has been a perfect daily drive for the last few months. 100% Reliable, responsive, fast, and comfortable. Quite incredible really for a 20 year old, modified car making almost twice the factory power and torque!
  22. I seem to remember an old club member (cant remember his name, had a gorgeous blue do luck aerotop, and was some sort of aero engineer) fitted evo calipers to his, and had to machine brackets for them. Edit: Supradibbs / Wayne I think.
  23. So the evo rear brembos have the same bolt offsets, the same disc hat heights, and the same disc diameter offsets? Not impossible, but highly doubtful. I would also guess that using Evo rear calipers would be dangerous with oem jdm front calipers, as it will likely throw the bias to the rear. What pads will fit? They may be okay with the k sports, but you would really need to discuss that with k sport.
