  1. yea all mods declared. I dont know about a agreed value arrangement. but what I want to find out is at what point do they declare the car a write off. if they reckon the car is worth 12k and theres 8k damage, is there a certain percentage or is it just as long as the damage doesnt exceed the cost of the car?
  2. yea, I smashed into a sign post like an idiot. lol everything is ok thanks mate. im just worried about my car. dont want insurance people to take it. they estimate the car to be worth 12k but its got like 40k worth of mods on it. takes the P*SS
  3. Hey guys, need some advice, im with sky insurance who put my insurance with QBE. I had a bad accident last night in my supra, im worried they might write it off. at what point do they classify a car as a write off, has anyone dealt with QBE insurance. I have loads of mods and a body kit. apparently they cover the mods like for like.
  4. Anyone there that can answer these? with the uprated cams how much more narrower are we talking, im not so worried about traction, I have 355 wide wheels at the back and a stupidly big spoiler. where could I pick up a good used engine from? are there any companies that deal with that? is there anything I can do to get the T88 to spool faster and make it more drivable. Id love to change the turbo I really would, im just tight on cash at the moment, new engine and mapping is going to leave me out of pocket.
  5. Thanks man, I really do need luck how much HP were you running and how much boost did u have? did u have any issues?
  6. with the uprated cams how much more narrower are we talking, im not so worried about traction, I have 355 wide wheels at the back and a stupidly big spoiler. where could I pick up a good used engine from? are there any companies that deal with that? Yes mapping is a must, I got a HKS f-con pro that I will get mapped with Matt from AFR. is there anything I can do to get the T88 to spool faster and make it more drivable. Id love to change the turbo I really would, im just tight on cash at the moment, new engine and mapping is going to leave me out of pocket.
  7. yea thats true, but this is just general advice im asking for. I just want to know how to run 550-600bhp nicely and reliably without spending stupidly. the question is shall I go stock fully, or do I need to change a few things if im running a T88 turbo. Reliability is my key issue, I dont want 600bhp for 3 months then need an engine rebuild, I know its how I drive as well but if u take that out the equation. sorry to be annoying, I am trying hard man, i really am
  8. yea. Im sorry. ur right, but the thing is ive done SOOOO Much searching and ive soo many people say so many different things, some people say u need to change pistons, others say u need to change rods, otheres say u need to change cams, some say u dont need to change anything. Some people say u should keep the T88 as it does spool late but then a lot of power kicks in, some people say get the t67. its very hard to get an answer, so I thought id ask for myself, I know how a turbo works and that, just not familier with the terminology. sorry to be a pain
  9. you what, LOL sorry man I didnt understand that.,im still new to all this., what does top end mean? what do you mean by 'your turbo is known more for its top end grunt and smaller power band thats already high up in the rev range' also can you explain 'the non stock cams may make the power higher but the transition even more severe and hence unmanagable/undrivable/a challenge' cheers
  10. When I indicate left or right and I take the corner the indicator doest click off, it stays on no matter what turn I take, LOLLLLLLLLLL I have to manually switch it off. HOW ANNOYING IS THAT
  11. why wont the car be drivable with the T88 if I put in the uprated cams??
  12. its not that im adamant about keeping the T88 turbo, its jus a matter of cost. I cant afford another 2k or so installing a T67 not just yet anyways. I want to have high power levels but I want to keep the car as reliable as possible. I want to spend only on what is essential on doing up the engine, as far as ive read, I dont really need to put in forged HKS pistons as the stock ones are good enough so thats just a waste of money, I will change whatever needs to be change, but I dont want to spend money on something I dont need to do, this is why im finding out what people recommend to change to the engine to get it running 500-600 bhp reliably
  13. guys any clarification on this, is this recommended to leave the engine stock and just get uprated cams, if so which cams? or do I just leave the whole thing stock and run 550bhp need ur advice
  14. cheers for that info mate, so for 500-600bhp on a stock motor is it recommended I get uprated cams and leave the rest stock?
  15. cheers for that info mate. can I just clarify, to run 600BHP I can use a stock longblock and only change the cams to a higher profile. Ok now with regards to changing the turbo, how much would a T61-T67 cost. cos were talking G's here right? is T88 really that bad, even if its mapped nicely to spool quicker? whats a safe amount of boost to run on a stock engine?
  16. also how much does it cost ??
  17. can someone explain what a 3.4 stroker kit is.. lolol Im such a newwwb but gotta learn
  18. yea im aware:) but in the dry ohhh my what grip :)
  19. can you explain this part a bit more.... just in terms that a newb wud understand
  20. Sorry im confused please note that im a newb. What do you mean by get the head ported? Say I get a clean decent longblock, what would you recommend I change to run 600bhp comfertably, everyone is telling me something different. I just want to clarify if I was going to get a stock engine what I need to change to get it running 600bhp nicely.
  21. appreciate the concern, I know u have to take it real easy in the wet, but sometimes theres that 911 at the traffic lights giving u dirty looks while his girl in the passenger seat is smiling at u, you just gotta race him. Thats why I need to sort out my TC, anyone out there in london u can recommend. As I said my car has TC installed, its just not working, need to get it checked out
  22. So u reckon ill get a stock block and replace the cams and the con rods and ill be good?
  23. Ok. do Toyota supply long blocks, cos as far as I know they only supply short blocks. how much would a new long block cost.? what cams would you recommend I get?
  24. so HKS internals all the way is it going to run reliably? as in do people who have built engines with HKS complain about reliability issues, or is it as reliable as stock, so many people tell me to stick with stock but I wanna hear what u guys have to say about it?
