    cv's

I was made redundant about five months ago, and received plenty of CV building advice, tips and how to construct it. Do you want me to forward any of it to you?
  2. This seems to have generated a lot of interest on the forum - would it be an idea to get everyone's Monopoly username together via a thread on here and then have a "mini league" set up for a bit of friendly competition? I see there is a function on the site to create a leaderboard of your own friends. Obviously it would be of more value after they reset it - so everyone starts from scratch at the same time.
  3. All sorts of stuff - vitamins, minerals, E numbers. Oh wait, hang on... have I gone wrong?
  4. Hasn't Gaz6002 got one that just pivots the number plate into the recess in the front bumper?
  5. They won't be - probably renamed "homosexual meatballs".
  6. What a bunch of richardheads.
  7. I'm quite sure it'd be quicker than that if I was jogging...
  8. Dartford to London E16 - approx 11 miles by road, 8 miles as the crow flies - average an hour and a half each way since I started last Tuesday.
  9. They don't normally have rustproofing because it isn't needed -the Japanese do not use grit or salt on their roads, therefore the rust level is at an absolute minimum, if any.
  10. Welcome aboard. Twelve thousand should get you a very good motor. As outlined above, Jurgen of JM Imports and Paul Whiffin of Whifbitz come highly recommended. If you want to tell someone what you are looking for and let them do the rest, either of those should be your first port of call.
  11. You are as humble as you are kind, Rev. Michael.
  12. Can't we all just get along? Or at the very least, kill it with fire. I've gone wrong again here, haven't I?
  13. Kill it with fire. Oh no, wait - hang on...

Voted - couldn't very well not vote, having seen this car flash past me once.

    Employment

Oh, and it also means that I can start looking for a Supra again. Best change my signature on here... How could I forget the most important point?

    Employment

It isn't what I expected myself doing, but it is in the same industry I've been in for 10 years, so the knowledge base isn't completely wasted. Sorry to hear that - just got to keep at it and something turns up. I start next Tuesday - I've been out of work for four months, so my start date is actually something to look forward to. Exactly my thoughts - 9 hours a week less (on average) for 30 quid a week less. Not a bad compromise. Plus I will actually get paid for overtime, which wasn't the case at my last job. I agree - better to have any sort of job in this climate than none at all. As long as you still have an income, you can fight off the recession for that little bit longer. Relief doesn't even come close. The money will soon tot up, and as mentioned above, I get paid +50% for overtime, which I can do in the first few weeks under the guise of "learning the ropes a bit sooner".
  17. For that very reason, I won't be able to listen to it as of next week. Stuck indoors with the old man (who is an avid listener), I've had no other choice in recent weeks... Had my excuses all lined up already

    Employment

Following on from this thread, in which some of you kindly offered your moral support... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=180548 ...I have finally been offered a job. After four months of hopeless searching and banging of head against wall, it is over at last. It is still within the transport/logistics industry; the difference in travel from my last job is negligible; and the difference in annual salary is minimal (under 1500 quid less p.a). The only downside is that it is a shift-pattern job - twelve hour shifts as follows: four AM shifts, then four days off, four PM shifts then eight days off. It'll take some getting used to, but it works out at just 36 hours per week, compared to 45 hours at my previous job. The relief is tangible - I never expected to feel so differently on receiving an offer of employment. Outburst of joy over
  19. You listen to Radio 2 as well?
  20. I'm just "up the road" in Dartford. I must admit to hearing it before seeing it
  21. What a wally. Mind you, nice start to everyone else's Friday.
  22. Reg R***XKR, just after the toll booths heading from Essex to Kent, about 12.45pm today. Possibly a Veilside front spoiler, but I couldn't be sure as I was pootling along the Bluewater slip road.
  23. You appear to be indecisive. I think...
