  1. According to Lbm, I am indeed last year's winner. I completely forgot about "claiming" the prize though, which I seem to remember was in the form of a monetary donation to a charity.
  2. I learnt today that I have a title to defend in this competition, so I had to make a Schumacher-style comeback and put my entry in. Although the comeback is of a completely different scale to that of Schumacher's. Much, much smaller, for one.

    Been a long time

Have you not considered Kettle Chips? The sea salt and vinegar ones are worth a munch. Did I actually win last time? I forgot all about it. Can I have a link to the final table (purely for gloating purposes, you understand)?

    Been a long time

Well, this is the first time I've been on here for six weeks. Have I missed much?
  5. I saw you sloping past the old Crook Log swimming pool over the festive period (might have been Christmas Eve) - you were at the lights, headed toward Welling, with the music up and the windows half down. I nearly punted into the car in front as I rubbernecked past...
  6. I went to the final last night at Alexandra Palace. Amazing atmosphere.

    New to the Forum

Welcome. Whatever you decide to go, whether that's get an NA now for hold out a bit longer for a TT, make sure you don't rush in and buy the first one you see just so you can have a Supra sooner. Go and view several, get test drives if you can, check that it is mechanically sound, etc. That sounds obvious, but it'll save you having to fork out on unnecessary repairs because you never bought a complete shed. Although if you are prepared to be patient, you can use the extra time to squirrel away some more funds and might be able to stretch to a TT once you've found an example you want.
  9. I had a couple of hours on it last night (PS3 version), and was surprised to see that some of the online players were already at ranks upwards of 30. Do people really play these things solid from the time they get their paws on it? Got to First Class Private (rank 4 or 5) and then gave up because I needed a cup of tea and something to eat. Might go on for a few hours before I start work at six... Footnote: my PS3 gamer tag is Ace-1981 if anyone wants to lock horns.

Some people are rubbish at Jenga.

    Flamer Kit Fun

Damn it, foiled. Damn it twice - foiled again.
  12. The main thing is that driver, car and other road users are unharmed. It just means that you'll be more cautious next time you approach that particular stretch of road, or any similar one; and that can only be a good thing.
  13. Welcome aboard. You'll like it here.
  14. Absolutely - that is the one thing I've learnt; when buying a car of this nature, be patient. Four years ago I bought a GTO on impulse, the day after I first saw it, and very quickly wish I hadn't jumped in blind. One good thing to come from the GTO though - it did give me the taste for turbocharged three litre Japanese cars.
  15. I'm looking for a TT6, '95-on, as close to stock as possible, with all the usual extras - air conditioning, cruise control, leather interior, etc. I realise that it'll take time, the TT6s are quite desirable as it is, and in stock form, even more difficult to come across. I'm prepared to wait it out though; I'd much rather get one that is "just right" rather than rush it, pick up the first one I find, and discover it is a complete hound dog.
  16. Blimey. Another fine Supra has been brought into our world. Congratulations on your find. And well done to Jurgen for sourcing it for you too.
  17. That is a superb example. You've picked up a real gem there, especially for the price you paid too. It provides hope for the rest of us who are currently in the market for a Supra (including yours truly) - if you can find an S-reg aerotop for under 4500GBP, it certainly makes me believe I can find exactly what I'm looking for in time.
  18. Blimey, that is good. That would rival the ownership costs of most hatchbacks. Just to put a different slant on things, your total running costs of just over £20000 was what the GTO cost me, all in, from day one. Oops.
  19. Might as well jump on the bandwagon for this one. Feel free to ask if you aren't sure what colour your car is, I'm certain some of your peers on mkivsupra.net will be able to point you in the right direction.

    Just ordered a PS3

Well, I received the PS3 today, along with the two games mentioned in the first post, and have spent practically all afternoon and evening playing it. And now for a bit of controversy - I already cannot stand COD4: Modern Warfare. The game is extremely unforgiving to newbies. I thought the control system was awkward, and what makes it worse is that it isn't fully customisable (from memory, only four presets for the analog sticks and five different combinations for the rest of the buttons). As for the online mode, it is beyond a joke how many times I was the first one killed by a lucky grenade thrown into the sky from one side of the arena to another. Too many fortunate shots, and too much time spent "spectating" a team member because you were the first one to die. Overall, not impressed. MGS4 looks very promising though...
