They were also delighted to quote me £617 for my Is200, when I rang them to ask why it was that they are wanting more this year for a group 13 Uk car than they did last year for a group 17 import Supra they said that there had been a 40 % price rise. Although I do miss my Supra I was looking forward to hassle free car insurance where I could get a cheap quote anywhere for my boring family saloon, seems thats not the case. Says it all here really http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews88578.html

Plastic headlights from my 94 N/A, good condition, no snapped brackets or bits missing, most probably could do with a refurd due to yellowing, no bulbs fitted. £50 collected only from Sidcup in Kent during the day or Blackheath evenings. I have 4 pictures I can e mail on request, first come first served, if you dibb them they need to be collected within a week please.

Have you checked to make sure the dashpot has enough oil in ? If not the piston will be flapping up and down like a flappy thing. -
Blue 1994 Supra Automatic Non Turbo. Rare Blue, I have only ever seen one other this color on the road. First registered in the UK 26.07.2005 with 5 former keepers. Current mot until Jan 2012, taxed to end of 07.11 and I have all the Mot certificates since import. Also fitted with a Toad Cat 1 alarm which I have the certificate for. Odo currently reads 170,000 but the first 2 Mots I have say KM in the box next to the mileage written in biro, speedo reads in MPH but no idea when converter fitted, I assume that the first 2 mots it had were before the speedo converter was fitted and it says Mph on the dials now so I’m thinking on the first 2 mots the tester has written Km as the speedo was still in Km up to that point but I have no way of being sure. I am NOT selling this because there is anything wrong with it, I just don’t want it any more, though at the same time I do ! Never failed to start or ever gone wrong, only had to top the oil up twice since I have owned it. I have had 2 services done, one each February at Mot time. Last year had oil and filter change, brake fluid change, auto fluid change, new dizzy cap and rotor arm, plugs, rear pads, 4 new tyres etc. This year serviced in February, oil change etc and new Ht leads and 2 new rear tyres. Some other odd bills from previous owners plus the Bimta certificate from when it was imported. Recently fitted with new front discs and pads, new anti roll bar bushes front and rear and new drop links front and rear, and brake hoses. Nice set of wheels on it ( I think ) 18 inch Ssrs with 265s on the rear and 235s on the front, also has UK glass headlights I fitted and came with UK front brakes and a Blitz Nurspec R exhaust and k and n panel filter. Also has ripspeed cd player and 4 x infinity kappa speakers. The good bits, it’s a Supra. The rest, going round the car, offside front lower spoiler / bumper slightly pushed in. I have the new alloy strip to fit to bring it back to shape in case the existing cannot be bent back, but have never bothered to fit it. The electric aerial doesn’t go up and down properly. The front pads also click, a common thing with the Uk calipers I understand, it isn’t a problem but its somewhat annoying, never did it before I had the pads replaced last month. Has rear number plate surround thing and fog light in the light cluster in place of one of the reverse lights, I have a set of un-used recently re-gassed boot struts for it, plus a new gear lever top as they tend to wear. Apart from that and a few scratches and one small car shopping trolley ding it’s pretty straight for its age. Interior wise, gear change worn like they do, got the new one but not fitted, electric seat works fine, air con fine as well, has carbon dash cover fitted. Also has rear luggage blind. Loads of pics here http://rides.webshots.com/album/580036027xyHwFR Car is located in Blackheath SE3 postcode, easy to get to from A2, A20 etc, possible viewing during the day in Sidcup. Tax runs out the end of this month, £1800 if I don’t tax it, £1900 if I do

I think they are illegal as retrofit anyway, always have been, even with a headlight with projector beam design 1. The headlamp unit (outer lens, reflector, bulb) shall be type approved to ECE 98 and be "e-marked" to demonstrate this. That can only be done by the headlamp supplier - Hella, Valeo etc. who must test the headlamp in an independent laboratory. 2. Once fitted to the vehicle it must have headlamp cleaning and self-levelling (which can be for the headlamp or can be in the vehicle suspension - some expensive estate cars have "self-levelling suspension" and that is adequate). Also the dipped beam must stay on with the main beam. 3. The headlamp must be maintained in good working order, kept clean, and aligned/adjusted correctly like any other headlamp. Under the Road Traffic Act 1988 it is an offence to supply, fit or use vehicle parts which are not legal. In summary it is not permitted to convert an existing halogen headlamp unit for use with HID bulbs. The entire headlamp unit must be replaced with one designed and approved for use with HID bulbs and it must be installed in accordance with the rules stated above.

Just had new front discs, pads, arb bushes front and rear, drop links front and rear, new brake hoses front and rear, new exhaust to gearbox bracket, new heatshield, Cw stainless front caliper pins, subframe bolts checked.. £2000, bargain, would take £1500 without the glass headlights and the wheels that are on it at the moment. I am going to give it a week then sell the headlights and put the plastic ones back in, sell / swap the wheels for Uk standard 17s then put it on ebay if no one on here wants it.

Excellent, it certainly seems to be, there are some on e bay in the Usa with a list of fitments that does say Na, cannot find any for sale in the Uk though.

Import Mileage Conversion Process - Can anyone advise?
Keefred replied to Starbuck's topic in Supra Chat
I don't think you will ever know unless you have the date and the bill for the converter when it was fitted. I have the Bimta certificate for mine which states how many Km it had on if when it left Japan, but I have no idea when the converter was fitted so no real idea of how many miles it has really done. I would be inclined to think it had been done soon after it got here, but no way of really knowing. I believe, though I am not certain, that some speedo converters change the Mph but leave the Odo counting up in Km, if it has one of them on all the mileage it has done will be in Kilometers if you see what I mean. -
Stumbled across this site, has all the pictures with part numbers Like Toyo diy used to, only problem is it's in Russian:( http://www.megazip.ru/ru/auto/toyota/view/452/4041/40776/393394/mode/list Can't quite work out how to find the index yet though.

This has become a bit of an Ocd mission for me, getting this part, even though I know it isn't really needed. I bought 17502-46080 front heat shield which has the nuts fixed to it, and bought the bolts thinking that when the bloke replaced my broken gear box to exhaust bracket it would make the whole job easier as the captive nuts on the sheld would save messing about trying to get the old ones off and he could just cut the old bolts off, put on the new bracket and use the new shield with the captive nuts and the new bolts and gasket 90917-06056 I bought. He told me he couldn't do it as it was the 'wrong size' ? I then assumed the 17502-46080 I had bought must be for a TT which had a bigger bore exhaust. I also assumed that the picture attached which I sent to Steve Manley saying I wanted this part with the ring drawn round it but for an NA was misunderstood and he had sent me one for a TT. It is the assembley 17502b. Having spent literally hours looking to find what the part number of this thing was for an NA I have become more convinced that there is only 1 type which is the 17502-46080 which fits both the TT and the NA and my 'mechanic' said it didn't fit as he didn't fancy doing the job, no idea why as if I had a ramp and the tools I would not hesitate to do the thing myself, with the new shield and the bolts it would be an easy job. On both these pictures it seems to me that the 'downpipe' with the first cat in is obviously different between the TT and the NA, the second section / cat = 17410 is common to both cars, then the rest of the system is different again, so, if that is correct the downpipe / first cat diameter must be the same, making those gaskets shown as 17451 = 90917-06056 common to both TT and NA on that section of the exhaust and part 17502b also the same for both cars ? The one thing that confuses me is that on the picture with the circle on just to the right of that it seems to offer some different options for the NA, the part marked #4. If anyone can confirm what the part number is I would be very grateful as this is the only bit I need before I embark on getting all the bits done to the car that need doing.

Thank you very much.

Searched on here for ages, cannot see the part number for an 1994 NA. Ordered fronts and rears but only got 1 set which are 48815-14090 which I think are the fronts looking at the hole size ? I also ordered a new gear nob but got the overdrive button and wire, a heat sheld but got 2 exhaust gaskets, for a TT ! And the shower is leaking as well, not having a good day today.

I don't think I'm really slating it, just being honest, now they are coming down to the price that someone young might be interested in I didn't want anyone coming to look at it ( fat chance it seems ) and then saying they couldn't get insured or afford the petrol, same reason I've been honest about its faults. I am sure we have all been to look at cars advertised as super but turn out to be nothing like it. I am still kind of undecided, there seems little point spending money on it to get it up to scratch when its unlikely anyone will want to buy it anyway, and if I do I am not sure even then I will still want it, though given the seeming lack of interest in this sort of car these days, It's looking more like I'll have to keep it.

£2250 anyone ?

Just had new front discs, pads, arb bushes front and rear, drop links front and rear, new brake hoses front and rear, new exhaust to gearbox bracket, new heatshield, Cw stainless front caliper pins. £2000, bargain, would take £1500 without the glass headlights and the wheels that are on it at the moment. I am going to give it a week then sell the headlights and put the plastic ones back in, sell / swap the wheels for Uk standard 17s then put it on ebay if no one on here wants it. Worlds most crappest and longest advert I'm sure but here goes. Not overly regrettable sale of my Supra, rocks and hard places etc, I want it, and then I don’t. I think I am just bored with it, owned it since Feb 2009 and it’s by far the longest I’ve ever owned a car by about 18 months. I have to accept I’m never going to get to do any of the minor bits I want to do to it due to lack of time and nowhere to work on it. All I have done pretty much since I’ve owned it is drive it every day, only had a look to see if it had a spare wheel the other day, and it does……. Has the bonking over bumps syndrome but have got new ARB bushes on their way. I was planning to give it one last chance, get all the bits fitted plus subframe bolts checked for tightness and new droplinks all round, but to be honest even after than I’m not convinced I’ll want it, so better to give someone who knows about these things or has a passion for a Supra like I used to think I had to had to sort out. The expense of running the thing as a daily driver just isn’t paid back by the enjoyment I get, or don’t get from the car anymore, the insurance is dear and its pretty crap on petrol and completely useless if you want more than 2 people in it, all of which I could happily put up with if I was actually enjoying the car. If you have never had one before make sure you get an insurance quote before even thinking of buying one, though I seem to suffer from high insurance prices even given my age and 100 years no claims etc and prepare for sub 20 Mpg if you drive it even moderately hard, that said, if you are keeping it under 70 and light on the accelerator it is surprisingly economical on a run. My work journey now is about 35 miles a day, most of which is spent sitting in a traffic jam. If I had the option of getting another car and keeping this in a garage to tinker with and just use at weekends I would keep it and do all the bits needed doing. I know once it has gone every time I see one I’ll be thinking ‘wow, look at that, I used to have one of those’ and will want another one, the more I think about it the less I want to sell it, but I don’t have the option of having 2 cars and what I want to drive is something I can just get in and drive rather than thinking I must do this or that to it. When I bought it I thought I would never ever sell it. Have new gearnob top, new passenger grab handle, set of new boot struts on order, speaker brackets, dynamat stuff, fuel filter, spare set of new headlight bulbs, all of which never fitted ! First registered in the UK 26.07.2005 with 5 former keepers. Current mot until Jan 2012, taxed to 07.11 and I have all the Mot certificates since import. Also fitted with a Toad Cat 1 alarm which I have the certificate for. Not too sure about the mileage, currently reads 170,000 but the first 2 Mots I have say KM in the box next to the mileage written in biro, haven’t got the bill for the speedo converter, clock says MPH on it but no idea when converter fitted, could have been from day one and the clock not changed to read MPH until later so tester assumed still in kilometres or left reading KM for years, really no idea. If it was miles from day one of import its done 108,000 Kilometers which is 67,000 miles, plus 62,000 miles = 129,000 miles, seems there or thereabouts to me. Never failed to start or ever gone wrong apart from drivers window motor and aerial, only had to top the oil up once since I have owned it. I have had 2 services done, one each Febuary at Mot time. Last year had oil and filter change, brake fluid change, auto fluid change, new dizzy cap and rotor arm, plugs, rear pads, 4 new tyres etc. This year serviced in Febuary, oil change etc and new ht leads and 2 new rear tyres. Some other odd bills from previous owners. The rest, going round the car, offside lower spoiler / bumper slightly pushed in. I have the new alloy strip to fit to bring it back to shape in case the existing cannot be bent back, a year later not fitted ! I had to change the drivers door window motor and when I refited it I have left the window slightly high so sometimes catches on the roof gutter, literally 2 mm would see it miss but I didn’t factor this in when I fitted the new motor. I do have 2 sets of proper speaker brackets and some Dynamat type stuff which I had planned to fit and re-adjust the window at the same time, yet another thing a year later I haven’t done. New set of brake hoses, not fitted ! Has led strips on the doors for when they are open, one missing from when I bought it, have 2 new ones, guess where they are ? still in the box from 18 months ago when I bought them ! Has rear number plate surround thing and fog light in the light cluster in place of one of the reverse lights, recent second hand aerial fitted, boot struts are knacked but I do have a new set coming, again not fitted, also have a new set of boot rubber stops, again not fitted. Exhaust rattles, I have the new and improved version of the gearbox to exhaust bracket, the old one has snapped and was welded up last Mot but broke 2 weeks later, yet another part I haven’t fitted. I also have a new fuel filter, again, guess what ! Not fitted. Apart from that and a few scratches and one small car park dent its pretty straight for its age, has large scratch on bonnet which looks like someone once carved cnut on there with a key but you can only see part of the C really in a certain light. Interior wise, gear change worn like they do, got the new one on its way, electric seat works fine, air con fine as well, dash a bit split in normal place, slight lifting of trim by gear lever due to mishap with calor gas bottle, right hand engine lights don’t work, didn’t even know it had any until I read a thread on here about dry joint issue ! In my opinion, for the money it’s still a pretty good car, someone who does have the time and the facilities could I’m pretty sure bring it back up to top notch with minimal effort. I’d like to see £3500 for the car, but back in the real world of the prices of these cars now £2500 would see it gone, any club member or friend of one is more than welcome to come and look at it. I am in Blackheath London Se3 postcode, near the Blackwall tunnel, easy to get to from M2, M20 etc. Would consider deal with similar priced car, no 2 seaters, want IS200 or Celica or E36 coupe, NO imports of any sort. Would not be able to let car go until firm sale agreed and other vehicle sorted so please bear that in mind if you are thinking of travelling any distance to see it. No idea how they would re gas them, sounds dangerous, but they do offer to have a go, though maybe 'some' struts are a bit rare Thank you for your enquiry. New gas struts are available at a cost of £107.76 for the pair delivered (£41.75 per strut plus £6.30 carriage and VAT), are covered by a two year guarantee and are available on next day delivery. Yes, we need the original struts in to swap the brackets over on to the new struts and new fixings. Some struts can be re-gassed depending on their condition so a visual inspection by us must be made in order to assess your struts, which is free of charge. If you try a re-gas and it is not successful within the warranty period we will discount the cost of the re-gas from new gas struts purchased from SGS Engineering. A re-gas is £49.56 delivered for the pair (£17.50 per strut plus £6.30 carriage and VAT) and struts are usually turned around within three working days. Payment can be made via credit/debit card and you will be contacted for payment once your struts have been tested and are ready for dispatch
-
There is a place called sgs-engineering.com that will put the ends off the existing ones on to new struts for £107 a pair, or do a regass for £50 for the pair. They are expensive new from Toyota, dont know why, if you look on e bay it seems pretty much any gas strut can be got for pretty much any car for about 1/4 of the cost of Supra ones.
-
If that is an Na its a shield for the Exhaust temperature sensor not the O2 sensor. You don't really need it, mine did the same and I just took it off, it might in some case stop the cable for the sensor being ripped out over rough terrain though. I belive on a TT its the same design, though not the same part number or size as I bought one for a TT by mistake and it didn't fit my Na. I am still trying to find the right part number for an Na one.
-
I have spent hours looking for these, that Dox 0110 one on e bay is a universal one, I only found these ones 2009 Denso book, according to that the only 2 listed are. 89465-19605 = Dox-0228 89465-19595 = Dox-0227 The Dox-0110 seems to be a universal one as it says it fits a supra (nato) 3.0 and Carina e, celica, Rav 4 etc

I can't remember the link, search on here for epc and it's somewhere in the thread with the most replies. I think it was originally hosted or is still by nic. I don't know if i've not downloaded it all or installed it wrongly but there seems to be loads missing from it.
-
Excellent, it now works thank you.
-
Downloaded it and installed it, as per the instructions on the 'read me' bit. I assume where is says copy folders TMEPCW2 etc to the root directory it means copy and paste them in to the C drive ? as it comes up with 'do you want to replace these folders' so I assume I've put them in the correct place ? Done that, but I can't see a desktop shortcut or how you actually get the thing to run ?
