  1. i once bought a front bumper off of them when i needed a replacement when my TOM's one got damaged and iv got to say it was totally S*#%!!!! when it arrived it had chunks missing out of it on the corners and the piece that meets up with the bonnet needed flexing so much that it started to crack as i put i bolted it on. it was all under so much stress and i only unwrapped it for 5 mins. when i phoned to complain they said i had to pay for all the charges for reshipping and restocking! i was proper p'ed off so i payed them a visit with it and there they tried for about an hour explaining that this was perfectly fine and that the very fin layer of fibre glass could take lots of bending and stress to make it fit. i ended up getting my money back and went and bought a second hand bumper of a member on here. safe to say i wouldnt recomened them to anyone. even if i hated the person i wouldnt let them go their.

    Supra!

welcome to the v8 club Jamie and its good to see the thor v8 still live and kicking. though half the fun of the v8 swap is doing the swap yaself i sure do wish at times that i had bought one alreadfy done, saying that though when i started mine their was only 2 others, one being thor's. if you havnt already, join up to lextreme, theirs loads of info on their.
  9. My thoughts exactly Jamie. thats why i took up the challenge.
  10. cheers. currently got my eyes on a supercharger over in the states. though this wont be charged until after iv had the summer (whats left of it) running around as an NA
  11. yea im still not convinced myself but i thought it would be different to doing them black. plus it cost sod all as i had the red pearl in the garage.
  12. i am aware of a few tt v8's on one forum pushing around 1300. with what done i couldnt say but their are some extremely high bhp v8's on their.
  13. happy to stand corrected jamie, but from what i have read about this engine in both a magazine and through the lextreme and toyota-v8 forums is that the v8 is a much stronger engine. by all means their can be 1000rwhp stock tt's but how much strain is that putting on the engine? i cant really comment on it myself as never owning a tt but one of the main reasons i went for the v8 swap was due to the concerns i had about straining the engine to much if i wanted to go for more power. saying that though the fabrication work and getting the parts for the v8 is a hell of a lot harder (thinking forced induction).
  14. that video looks like its outside the lakeside tesco's
  15. from what i have read a little less then stock tt but with more torque. though the v8 can take a lot more power without having to fart around with internals and having to worry about putting it under strain.
  16. learn something new every day.
  17. i thought he still owned it. i know Rogar who did a lot of work on it had a couple of other motors lined up for the v8 swap.
  18. Jamie i have a list of companies NOT to go to that do wrapping if you want them pm'ed to you. these are from friends of mine who have been there and when taking the wrap off have found stanley blade cuts in their paintwork.
  19. from what i beleive when looking into it myself it was case of soarer belhousing, t5 box and welding a plate on to get it to all meet up. most important thing though is their will need to be a change in the management as well. happy to stand corrected though. if you like a have a copy of practical car tuning magazine which goes into great details about the v8 engine and gearboxes for it. would be happy to send it to you if your happy to sort out some money for p&p. a very useful mag
  20. yea the wholes kit is the original Tom's kit. the front bumper was damaged when i first got it so have been driving around with the blitz one on. this will be the first time the full kits been on properly.
  21. since my last update progress has been slow. i have had to fit a new tacho to get a accurate rev reading (sorry no pic) also yesterday saw the completion of the boot build. very plain, no audio gear just 2 pieces of mdf cut to fit into the boot area nice and tight, wrapped in fake leather with just the nitrous can taking centre stage. i personally think it looks amazing, the edges are perfect. the rear of the back seats where also given a trimming with some real carbon fibre. i wish i could say that was me doing it but im rubbish when it comes to wood and i have to say a big thanks to my friend who spent nearly 4 hours ensuring it was a perfect fit.
  22. To do it yourself require a workshop space or large ventilated garage, compressor, 2 spray guns (one with a 2.2 jet and the other for cleaning) and then probably the most expensive part a electrostatic fabricator. As well as resins, pigments, thinners and of corse the flock itself. Costs about £1000 - £1300 for all the gear to get started.
  23. would also have to do some work on the bulk head to get that to fit as well come to think of it
  24. cheers for the info. might well look into that option then as nos as a cooling addictive isnt cheap.
  25. yea they are a straight swap. only thing that needs real work is the wiring and propshaft
