  1. Will you be amping them as well? If not I'd say £150 is a waste on non-amped speakers. 6.5" will fit in with the speaker brackets
  2. You've got the Muckleburgh collection, I've done that before on a car meet, but it's not that good for meeting people as you all end up separating looking round! Ian, you've got to bring the soop up!
  3. Pah, that's nothing compared to Zymol Solaris http://www.zymol.co.uk/zymolsolaris.aspx £40k for some wax, bargain!! I guess if you have multi-thousand pound cars, then it's not too much trouble to get a very expensive detail. Personally the most expensive waxes I own are only £30 a pot and still give a great finish

    Possible meet up

actually I have no idea why I put those dates down as they aren't the weekend! I've started a new thread to get down some definite ideas etc: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=2728724#post2728724
  5. Starting a new thread to get something organised properly Looking at meeting on sunday 13th of June Any ideas for what to do? I've normally done afternoon meets on yarmo seafront, but I'm open to ideas. I don't mind doing a convoy from the Norwich area if people wanna come with other supras or aren't sure where they're going. So get some ideas down peeps!
  6. If you're stripping your supra will you have other bits available too? I could do with getting a few bits and can pick them up if you're not too far away

    Possible meet up

Well if you wanna set a date, either the 15th or 16th of June then? I dunno what is best for people, I suppose sundays??

    Possible meet up

I am! If we can all set a date that'd be good, but I'd like to get my car finished before showing it off and with work commitments it looks like 15th or 16th June is the earliest I'm free at a weekend

    Preludes?

I had one before the supra for 4 years and loved it to bits, and still do (it's gone to another guy in the prelude owners club and I hate seeing him put pics up ) Has to be a 2.2vtec though, 200bhp (with a few breathing mods) if you get the JDM version, and the best dash ever Find one without the rear arch or sunroof rust and you're laughing. Here was mine: http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/9043/1003514zn8.jpg http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/4966/1003505sy2.jpg http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/4213/1003510bt9.jpg
  10. Good stuff, we're going in December for our 3rd trip in 3 years.... you don't realise how addictive it is until you go (yes I'm a big kid at heart), I'm a total disneyworld-geek now, I spend more time reading disney forums than I do anything else Hope you have lots of fun, maybe see you out there
  11. The biggest thing I've 'won' was 3 crates of carling for getting a letter published in FHM, must have been about 1996! Apart from that I won a copy of TMNT on VHS from a Sun newspaper competition, that was 1990 No other major wins though
  12. That's a lot of money for what is essentially a regular plate, you can get a nice private plate for £2k (with no year letter - as opposed to one you mention with a year letter, which is technically a personalised registration) and then you can put that on any car
  13. I have a goatee as I'm a bit of a porker and it gives the illusion of a chin

    Possible meet up

Yarmo is good for parking up and having a looksee at the other motors, it's easy to park on the front (normally!) Only annoying bit is getting there on the acle straight

    Possible meet up

Since there seems to be quite a few of us wanting to meet up then, how about we set a date for something? Needs to be in May though cos I wanna try and get my bootbuild done

    911 Alloys

I think the PCD is 5x130 which is wrong, as the supra is 5x114 so they won't fit
  17. Alpine do some really good cameras for their systems, although they probably come at a price since the upgrade (front) camera (HCE-C200F) is about £270 and the normal control box with their rear view camera (HCE-C200R) is about £300 More info on the front camera: http://www.alpine-electronics.co.uk/products/details/camera/hce-c200f.html
  18. Was that in Redline, it looks familiar?
  19. I just gave my garage the sandwich plate and sensors (had pressure and temp put on at same time) and they charged me 3 hours labour, so depending on how much you wanna spend, you can get someone else to do it for ya!!
  20. Your problem here is all that wax you put on before, you are removing with your polish. The basic steps to getting a good finish is clay/polish until the paintwork is nice and smooth, and swirl free. Then you just need to wax it to protect it, and keep waxing it again after washing (no more polishing - otherwise it removes your protective wax layer) If you are looking for a simple cheap method to keep your paint looking good, go with the following: Wash with a good shampoo (meguiars gold class) Autoglym super resin polish to polish and hide swirls Meguiars stage 2 polish - this is actually a glaze which adds 'wetness' to the finish (or Autoglym ultra deep shine is an alternative) Then once you have done these 3 steps, just go with a wax, if you get your stuff from hellfrauds then maybe meguiars gold class wax or autoglym extra gloss protection Then wash and rewax after you have done all this. Of course you can repolish if your paint gets really bad but remember to wax again after, but really polishing shouldn't be done that often
  21. That stuff is a pig to work with and remove, although to be fair I have heard that megs have improved the mixture a bit now compared to their first batches. Admittedly if you can remove it all it does give a good finish, it's just too much hard work for me I'd say get a decent paste wax, if peter is a dodo retailer then definitely buy some of that, it's good stuff!
  22. I would say don't stick to one brand, and also join detailing world and prepare to spend hours (and lots of money) discovering what you need Out of that lot you listed, I'd only purchase the following megs products: Megs gold class shampoo and conditioner (can't see why AG is recommended over this, it's not bad really, better than their NXT stuff) Megs nxt metal polish (although autosol is a classic!) Megs hot shine tyre spray Megs quick interior detailer (ideal for quick wipe overs) Megs applicator pad (generally good for applying stuff!) Then just bulk buy microfibre cloths from ebay or wherever, ideal for putting on and taking off products. The megs 3 stage stuff isn't that good as a whole, i.e. their wax is awful and the stage 1 is a chemical cleaner as opposed to a abrasive cleaner. Stage 2 is good if used as a glaze though. What you need to remember when it comes to paintwork is thoroughly clean and clay the paint so you get a mirror smooth finish. Once you have your ideal look, you can enhance it (with a glaze) then you must protect it with a decent wax and/or sealant. After the initial application of wax, you will only need to lightly wash the car to bring it up to a good shine, and top the wax up every couple of weeks or so. Waxes, you're talking £10 up to thousands of pounds, so it's whatever fits your budget really
  23. The closest place to you really! Otherwise that saving of 50p/£1 per pound doesn't make it worth travelling further.
