    Keep it clean!

You need a garage, then you can get out of control (I have 2 shelves full of stuff I need to use up!!)
  5. Was just thinking of ideas for something to do really but I'm quite happy parking up to show the motors off then going for a drive, at least it's (minus petrol costs ) free!
  6. So are we agreeing on the Sunday? If so I'll PM everyone who was interested in the other thread to get them into this one and we can finalise what we're doing lamboyello - the muckleburgh collection is a big collection of tanks/planes/guns etc from the war, quite cool if you like that sort of thing.
  7. Yeah it is, haven't really played with it too much yet, waiting to install the rest of my ICE before I set it up properly. The pulsetouch is weird as well
  8. First up, big thanks to Heckler for supplying all the parts done for me so I just had to fit them! and I hope he doesn't mind me posting this either, I'm sure it won't do his LED conversion business no harm Anyway, I noticed when installing the bulbs for the speedo cluster, that there were bright spots on the sides and dim spots on top of the dials. This is because there are only 4 bulbs lighting up the entire cluster, and the diffusion isn't great. You can see what I mean on Hecklers pic: http://www.internetwork.org.uk/led_guide/dash2.jpg Bright spots are on the 20mph, 1000rpm, 7000rpm and 'C' areas. This is directly where the bulbs fit in. So I thought I'd have a go at modding the gauges to get a better light distribution The bulbs heckler supplies for the dials are 3x 501 bulbs, and a T5 bulb. The 501 bulb looks like this: http://img689.imageshack.us/img689/6078/img3175g.jpg You can see that the light will predominantly shine upwards, which is why you get the bright spots in the dials. After a bit of searching on ebay, I found that you can get other LED bulbs that have a better light distribution: http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/2669/img3177.jpg These are known as 'flux' or 'refractor' LEDs, and you will want the 501 size (also can be found if you search for W5W or 194 bulbs - they are the same) Now as these are slightly bigger than the holes on the back of the dials so won't go in from the back, so you need to take your dials apart to fit the bulbs: http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/5528/img3179w.jpg Once I installed these, I saw that were are bits of plastic that would block where the light shines - so I cut away a lot of the plastic to allow more of the light to shine through: http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/8130/img3181r.jpg So once you have cut the plastic away and put your bulbs in, test them in the car before replacing the dials to make sure they are the right way round, cos you won't be able to change them once the dials are back! http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/8523/img3183a.jpg This looks like a better distribution of lights, so now you can replace the dials and marvel at your handiwork! http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/5871/img3198g.jpg And the rest of the car done: http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/4041/img3190l.jpg http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/8843/img3193q.jpg

  10. How do you mean? Embalming pretty much makes a person look how they'd look in life and stops any further decay of the body until the funeral. So I can't see how you think it should be illegal? Or do you mean they way he has been posed on the bike? At the end of the day, if it is the families wishes then it should be done, that is the way I treat my job and what I'd expect anyone in the funeral profession to do
  11. I live just off the A140 in Long Stratton. I'm around saturday but not sunday Try clicking the links

    Nickelback

Linkin park were brilliant when Hybrid Theory came out, to me it just seemed like something so completely different to what I'm used to. They did go a bit crap, but then with the release of Minutes to Midnight they brought it all back round to the start. Given Up is classic LP (c'mon, an 18 second scream?? I don't think even Richard Patrick from Filter can scream like that, and he can scream) Good point about Theory for a Deadman, that do sound like Nickelback, but then that is probably because they are canadian and on roadrunner I suppose if you want rock-by-numbers then you can't go far wrong with Nickelback
  13. Got these as a winter set just sitting in the garage, and due to getting another set of alloys soon, I need some room! These haven't been used since I brought the supra 2 years ago, so as a result one tyre has gone flat, so just need pumping up. Front 2 wheels have 235/45/17 kumhos on, rears have 255/40/17 star milleniums on. Tread on the front is between 5-6mm and the rears have between 4-5mm, so plenty of life left in them There is slight curbing only around the rim (as in pics) I've been told that these are more silver than normal (not too sure what normal ones look like??) and that the centre caps are different. So what you see is what you get! front front back back offers? Pickup only as well please.

    Nickelback

I quite like Nickelback, even if Chad does look like Jesus The trouble is, all the songs they seem to choose for singles sound exactly the same, insomuch as you can sing other lyrics by them over the riffs, even the tempos seem to be the same (maybe it's just me??) The other songs on their albums aren't half bad, he does know how to write a good melody, even if he repeats the formula over the rest of the albums. The only other thing that annoys me was that I was into them when they had The State out, then they got famous. Doesn't happen so much nowadays with bands cos of the internet being so prevalent for releasing songs etc, but you thought of felt 'exclusive' when you were into a band that not a lot of people had heard of
  15. I've got a Hello Kitty guitar
  16. If it says 'conlight' on it then it'll be one of these, if not then I dunno!
  17. Seems to be either £30 or £60 fine if the police stop you, not endorsable, but possibly up to £1000 fine in court. I did some research and also found this article:
  18. Usually if it has either I or Z in the letters then it is irish http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom#Northern_Ireland
  19. I think he meant the plate A1 on it's own, not something like A1 SUP or something. According to the numberplate site I looked at these plates came into force in January 1904, which is when they started allocating cars registration numbers (under the Motor Car Act 1903) So although these are still just technically a regular number plate, they are worth more due to their 'age' and the less letters/numbers, the better! This is partly due to the fact that a lot of the cars at the time were scrapped, and I believe you can't 'get back' the plate from a scrapped vehicle As for the irish plates being expensive, I think they are going up in price as people realise you can make money out of them, but I've seen them starting at around £80 plus transfer fee for the ones that are like TZI 6018.
  20. Jumping in late, but you are correct (geeky, but I'm a big fan of autonumerology. Check out Noel Woodalls books if you want more info). A private plate has no year letter, and although this includes irish plates, I don't consider them 'true' private plates, as they are relatively cheap in comparison. A personalised plate has a year letter(s), either at the start or the end. These are often cheaper, unless they can be made to spell out something. Also, to be termed a personalised plate, the number combination on the plate usually has to be from 1-20, or doubles/triples i.e. 55 or 777, but this is less rare. To reply to the OP, I have a private plate on my car as I was given to me by my grandad when he passed away, although a lot of people assume I'm called Roy as that is what the letter say
  21. I had osteomyelitis as a kid, which is a pathological disease that affects your bone. Had to have it debrided and was in hospital for 6 weeks, but before going to hospital I was in so much pain I was passing out not knowing what day/time it was, horrible stuff Also I once broke and dislocated my finger at the same time, so they had to pull it to pop it back into the joint before treating the break, ouch
  22. It's only 3 screws across the top of the windscreen and the whole assembly lifts out.
  23. If you have £150 max, maybe you should look at spending £75 for an amp and installation, and £75 for speakers. You could get some decent stuff secondhand. As others have said, http://www.talkaudio.co.uk is a brilliant site for all car audio advice Look at Alpine or Pioneer for amps, and Rainbow, Genesis, DLS, Focal, Infinity for speakers (think you could find secondhand for that sorta money). Of course there are plenty of other good brands It'd be best to get components if you can as you'll get a better soundstage
  24. Remove them, sorted I always heard they were to reduce airflow into the back seats so your back seat passengers didn't get blown about too much.... however due to the fact I never have passengers in the rear, I removed mind.
