  1. I just need to go in a few more supes methinks, might have to go to some meets and see if anyone wants to taxi me around, anyone in Nottingham fancy that?
  2. Hmm, not sure tbh - I didn'd ask, should have...they didn't look 19, but I'm a bad judge of sizes Did you get that before you got the 265's? What he standard width anyhow?
  3. Hey all, looking to buy a supe soon though, having been in one recently I noticed its back end was wobbling around quite a lot when going over even small 'road features' (bumps, manholes and the like), personally I have a celica atm and am not used to rear wheel drive cars, have driven a few on a track before but its no comparison to the road. Is it usual for supes to wobble around at the back like this? It felt like it was slipping, like the back was on ice, or it was being dragged to one side, soon as u got over the thing it was having problems with, it was ok. Just felt quite odd....apparently it had wider than standard tyres on, could that be the issue?
  4. That sounds really cheap! My celica has slightly faded front and rear bumpers (I think the paint on the plastic fades quicker than on the metal, as they have both faded to the same shade), I was thinking of having them sprayed but was assuming it would cost quite a bit.
  5. Hey all, I'm relatively new here, just been sitting aorund and reading up on Supe's, I don't have one yet but am looking to sell my Celica and get one soon. One thing is, I have only been in one Supe so don't have much frame of reference - was wondering if anyone fancies giving me a drive in one any time I was wondering, are there any meetings where newbies might get shown round or be taken for a spin? I notice the Bubble Inn meeting is this weekend but I dunno if people are up for giving people rides, as its prob slightly cheeky to ask! Even if ppl don't wanna do that, its good to talk to ppl who know anyway just a thought
  6. Hi all, I'm thinking of gettnig a supe, spoke today to a mechanic who said he has heard of nothing but problems with all the import supra's not running properly on UK fuel, I've read a couple of times about the standard vs super unleaded debate and it seems most people say it doesn't matter. Also he said that parts were very expensive, while I image they will be more than UK parts, it doesn't seem they would be extortiante, not with the amount of import supra's in the UK. Just interested to hear peoples opinions.
  7. Really? I think it looks grey...
  8. yeh that is the one, though i saw it on autotrader. What does everyone think out of interest? Whats MSB? Thanks - nice bit of info
  9. haha, i didnt see that the forum you said was the classifieds, lol, sorry had a stupid moment - i assumed it was the regional forum for preston. yeh their website is arse, only reason i ask is they have a gunmetal part ex on autotrader, though I'm a bit doubtful about it, for one reason - it has a flamer kit, is it wrong of me to think that someone who puts a flamer kit on their car may have ragged it about a lot?
  10. yeh should have posted there, whoops - if any mods read tis can you move the thread? or i can cross post it. On a side note, done a search and cant find any posts regarding them, so looking for existing posts wont find me much
  11. Hi all, just looking at a car that a company in Preston called RPM imports has for sale, just wondering if anyone has used them and if so, what are they like? cheers!
  12. Does doing this reduce the stength of the parts much? I imagine it would do a tiny bit right - if you are filing done casting joints etc. Just wondering
  13. How large is the standard supe exhaust tailpipe? Just looking, sounds very nice and doesnt look too big at the back (I *hate* huge tailpipes), but I dunno how big the normal supe one is, as I dont even own a supe. I dont even know why I'm here
  14. How popular would you say gunmetal gray is? Though I could get another colour, I do love that one
  15. I'd be worried they were a bit toss, because I'd ask myself - why 6k? If someone could get more they would unless they were in a mega rush..surely? For example, on autotrader I saw a nice gunmetal grey TT auto for 5k, I wondered why it was that price, no mileage on it though so I imagine it was high.. Also, as for mods, I'm more into stock myself, I do love veilside skirts buts thats all I'm really fussed about, I'd prefer to do the major tweaking myself tbh
  16. £4k for a manual TT? That sounds very very cheap..
  17. Hey all, thought I'd get opinions on this: I'm looking for a supe and have 6k max to spend, as most people would, I'd love to get a 6 speed TT, but I think thats just not gonna happen with the cash I have, the way I see it I could either get an N/A 6 speed, or get a TT auto at the moment, possibly to upgrade it later. I do say possibly, as though I'd love to, my plans often dwindle to nothing So the question is, what are peoples opinions on which upgrade to do? Both seem pretty expensive. My guy feeling says get the TT auto now, maybe make it 6 speed later on. I want a good bit of speed
  18. Well cheers guys for the advice, I spoke to Sky insurance today and was very surprised to hear my insurance would only be about £690 on a JSpec TT Auto, so now the hunt is on! I also checked for a Celica GT4 quote, as from here its either a GT4 or the Supra TT, and I definitely know which I'd prefer (altho a friend of mine has said he reckons he would go for a GT4 above the Supra, not sure if anyone here has any opinion on that?) So yeh, I definitely can;t spend more than £6k, what I'm after is either a stock (or as close as I can get to stock), or very subtley (and tastefully) modded TT, be it auto or manual, JSpec or UK I'm not really bothered, going on your comments I'm not resisting the auto box anymore though, seems as though everyone loves it. So time to trawl the classifieds, but if anyone either has a Supra for sale that matches what I want, or anyone wants a Silver Celica 97 (UK spec, which is not very common at all) in very good condition (totally stock) then let me know! Its had very careful owners and I don't think will let you down
  19. Ok, so seems likes its a import jobbie then I guess, and an auto at that! Whats the auto like? Never driven one before, can't picture how it works, I've seen the numbers 1 and 2 on auto sticks before, is that the manual mode? I guess one question would be, has anyone here owned an N/A and a TT? I'd be interested to know what the difference in the feeling of speed and acceleration was between the 2, I can see 0-60 times etc but sometimes cars have a feeling of being slow when they actualy going pretty quick, so do you reckon the TT packs a lot more punch than the N/A?
  20. Hi all, currently I have a celica GT and possibly looking to get a Supra, the insurance seems ok (suprisingly, £768 for 12 months from admiral on a 95 twin turbo non-import) but I'm wondering a few things, having had a look at the classifieds section and Autotrader, UK specs seem slightly harder to get hold of and are more costly, is this always the case or maybe just a lull in the UK spec market? Also - anyone in here previously owned a Celica and now a Supra? I'd like to hear of comparisons, obviously much faster would be one I'm guessing, but would be ncie to hear nontheless. Gonna ring up sky tomorrow to get an import quote, as that would widen my market - are there any massive differences between a UK spec twin turbo and an import one? I'd read that the UK spec's were more powerful... Also - anyone got what I'm describing for sale? Have looked in classifieds but can't find what I want, I like the car to be relatively standard, certainly without body kits, and in good condition. I wouldn;t want to pay much more than £6,000 though so I think that maybe limit me a lot... Anyway - hello all!
