  1. If that video didn't convince you, I don't know what will.... It better work or I may have to drive off the nearest bridge, lets see that bloody rattle rattle then! grrrr
  2. You were turning right at the lights out of the retail park, toward Burton Joyce or Gedling. I was in the left, gunmetal gray turning left. I was getting foam from BQ to stop pissing annoying rattles! Hello
  3. Haha, has anyone tried this? Looks amazing! http://www.rattlebuster.com/ I can't really imagine it working, especially as I have shitty stock speakers, but I'm tempted
  4. My window is dodgy aswell, it sounds like it is labouring a lot. It never 'just doesnt work', but it sounds like its dying. Sometimes it has failed ot come up, although you can hear it trying. I removed the doorcard today and the cable that hoists the window up is frayed, anyone else had this, or is it normal to be a bit frayed? At one point it looks pretty shitty, kinda frayed around itself. Doesnt loook good tbh.
  5. hah, what a coincedence! I think it might be the cable from the electric window mechanism, just taken the door panel off and its frayed....
  6. Just had a look round on that, seems as though its kinda hard work, though I did find this which some people were going to try... http://www.glasspolishshop.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=134&osCsid=54123d8c9fe99d8944544a1d54837008 It says £0.00 when you look at it, I dont know why as when you add to cart its £22.52 Might have a go, or just buy some new glass, that might be the cheaper option...
  7. Has anyone got vertical scratches in their driver side door window? Seems as though other ppl have mentioned this, just wondered if there was a common cause... Gonna have to take my door card off anyway sa the window sticks occasioanlly, usually when I'm in a car park trying to pay Cheers!
  8. hey Keron, I never did ask you - how much do you charge for a big old service? Pretty much the works, as I havent had the car serviced (personally), so I want a big check up. Being as the old history is in japenese I want to know whats been done aswell, so you might be able to offer clues there.... Also, if you serviced it, when are you around? Mon-Fri, or do you do weekends at all? cheers mate.
  9. Hey all, I've got a bad passenger seatbelt and am looking to get a a new one, does anyone know if there are any differences between the seatbelts for jspecs throughout the years? I'm a 97 facelift but have seen seatbelt for 94's, just wondering if they will fit ok. cheers! Mike
  10. What condition is the passenger seat belt in? Does it zip back nicely? cheers!
  11. Are the drivers side and passenger side different? I'm guessing they are...
  12. It was getting dark so didnt see properly, think I've seen you before - going over lady bay bridge, probably about 3-4pm 27th December 08, I reckon I've seen you before going down colwick loop road at a guess, so you probably go down that way a bit...
  13. Hey all, just looking to get the first service I've had done on the supe and was wondering if anyone had been to David Drew in Nottingham - if so, how good was the service? I'm wondering whether to go to someone who specialises in Supe's (which means driving quite a distance AFAIK), or David Drew or Inchcape Toyota in Nottingham. Any advice very welcome cheers!
  14. Hmm, no I haven't - might be an idea to get some pins then if they are not too dear, how much did yours set you back? cheers for the advice so far
  15. Nice, cheers for that - do you reckon I'm gonna need anything else? Can't see that I am, seems like I'm gonna need: Brake fluid Lithium soap base glycol grase Caliper refurb kit for each caliper 2 brake line grommets for each caliper I'm thinking the process would be: Remove calipers (going to plug up the brake lines if I can to stop fluid coming out) Do my stuff with calipers Refurb calipers with kit Use grommets to reattach calipers to brake line Bleed lines to ensure no air Fill up brake fluid Sound about right?
  16. Thanks for the part numbers - looking at the brake service manual it seems like I'm gonna need gaskets around the brake line - does these come with the kit?? I guess, does everything I need when removing the calipers, come with the kits? I don't want to take the calipers apart only to find I need some consumables I dont have! Also - what does everyone reckon to moving the car a few metres with no brakes? I guess I'd have to keep the engine off, as with no brakes and an auto box i wouldnt be able to stop very well! I could then use the park gear of the auto box to stop the car rolling, does that sound fine? I'm planning on taking my time with the caliper rebuild, going to get them powder coated I think.
  17. Anyone know where would I go about getting a refurb kit? I'm considering stripping mine down for powder coating...cheers!
  18. Hmmm, I think I'm gonna go down the powdercoat route - anyone got any advice on how to strip down calipers? Need to remove all rubber etc before sending them to be powerder coated.
  19. I don't like the chrome, too bling. So like I was asking - no-one had them done satin chrome?
  20. Yeh they do, I've just never seen them on the car....can't find any pics. Also not seen anyone do a satin finish, I'm worried the chrome is too 'in yer face'!
  21. Anyone here actually got polished calipers on their supe? Would be interested to see pics and know of anyones experiance polishing. I was considering painting mine but I want to either stay true to the original color or polish if I can't, and I can't seem to find the dark gray color the calipers are painted. If I were to polish the calipers, I was thinking of doing them a satin effect, not too loud, and then have a chrome supra logo on them. I think it would look spot on. Also, anyone got any advice on preserving the brakes after polishing? I presume if I just left them theyd quickyl get shitty, I'm assuming people apply some lacquer or similar? Not sure how that would look with a satin finish though... Just don't wanna ruin my brakes doing it They are UK spec.
  22. Cheers for the helpful info, I might use some tweezers to remove some of the obviously buggered fins and straighten any I feel I could, wont go OTT tho as I'd be there for a year and a half I reckon.
  23. Cheers for the info guys, like I said before I know almost nothing of intercoolers, just read a bit more and from what I can tell a damaged intercooler wont cause overheating or similar, but will impact performance and might cause detonation, does that sound about right?
  24. So its not likely to cauge damage by overheating I'd imagine then? Any idea on how much a new IC is? I'll have a look in the for sale bit, but if anyone has a rough figure would be nice to know, any point in getting an uprated one? Car is totally standard...
