Thats what I thought, but wanted to check. cheers!!

Hey all, currently I have potenza's on in 235/40/17 on the front and 255/40/17 on the rear, I'm thinking of getting Eagle F1 GSD3's but I can only find different aspect ratio tyres. I've found 235/45/17 for the front so thats a 5% increase in aspect ratio, is this gonna cause me an issue? I've found the same size rears so thats fine. Any advice on whether its better to go lower or higher? Lower I guess is stiffer, more road noise but better handling?? Cheers!

im kindof using both, the bits on the window mechanism seem to let me move the window back and forward, the blue bits seem to let me change the stop height. I think the problem is a mix of the two. It seems the opposite with me, winding the window down and up when the door is shut kindof messes it up a bit. How much did you tighten the blue bits? I'm doing them tight but it seems a bit vicious!
-
Yeh I kinda thought of that, but I'm lazy in a stupid way - i.e. the way that makes me not do things like that even if they save time in the long run. Well, I am after pissing around with a window for ages and its getting dark Oh god, I'm stupid!

Hey all, I've just replaced the driver side window motor and have had to refit the window as such, its playing havoc though! Basically it seems to be a right pain in the arse, either I have it too high (using the blue adjusting bits on the door) and it either a) always hits the hard plastic lip above the door, or b) sometimes hits that lit. If I have it too low the window has a big gap. Plus all the time I'm having to plug my doorcard in and out to use the switch on it to check the window, then wind it down again. Also, however good I get it, it always seems to leak a bit (I throw a measuring jug of water at the top of the glass and a bead dribbles down the inside). Any advice? As I actually used black sealent to re-seal the moisture barrier on after thinking it was all ok, then slammed my door shut (well, not quite slammed) and the glass hit that bloody lip again and didnt close!! GRRR! Any advice would be very gratefully received

Hi all, what do car manufacturers use to seal the moisture barriers on inside the doors? (I'm assuming thats what the slightly hazy plastic is) - is it just black sealent? Need to seal mine back on, they've come off...

Hey all, wondered if anyone has a few spare interior trim fixings and other bits such as seatbelt fixing bolts that they could give me? I'm sure I can part with a bit of cash if they are in good nick I've bolded the things I really, really want Things I want: The 10mm hex bolt used to fix the top of the seatbelt on, and the 14mm one used to fix the bottom on if you have it Those weird coathanger things on the top of the rear seat trim, the very small hook things Those white plastic clips used to fix two parts of the bottom rear seat trim panels Normal trim screws Short trim screws (the ones used on the top rear panel) Trim screw covers (the black disc's, both for the plastic trim and the doorcards) The black push rivet things used for some trim areas Any of the fixings used on doorcars, electric windows etc Any things such as above are very welcome, if you cant be arsed to sort through just send me a bag cheers!

ah well, just got a set of halfords bolts, one of them fits fine ubt will replace as soon as poss

Does anyone know if the small 10mm bolt that holds the top of the seatbelt in place is in any way special? Mines has sheared so I'm just gonna replace it with another but didnt know if they had to be special bolts at all.. they dont look it... plus, are there any torque specs fr bolts such as these? Never seen any and I'm wondering if I tightened it too much (doubtful, I was only doing it by hand) or if the bolt was just crap. cheers!

Ah right ok, I'd heard "potenza's were great" from a few people, obviously not the entire range! cheers for the info

Nice to know I'm not alone! Thanks for taking the time to make that reply up, really nice and compreshensive - I'll have a look into everything you've said. I was considering a cylinder stopper - wuold you say the brake improvement is quite noticable? Also I saw that braided brake lines may be a worthwhile investment, though I'm not sure how much they help. I may talk to Chris, it seems everyone rates him very highly. Though obviously the work done has a large effect, I'm interested to know if anyone has any rough figures for a getting a non-standard geo setup from Chris? They are Bridgestone Potenza RE711's. On the front they are 235/45 zr17, I can't remember the rear but they are all standard 17" sizes afaik.

Kinda hard to describe, the actual steering seems relatively good, though possibly could be a bit more responsive. I suppose I imagine it similar to comparing it to a newer cars brakes, for some reason new cars seem incredibly sharp on the brakes - going from an older car to a newer one you almost go through the windscreen! Its worth noting the Supra is my first car of its type, I did previously have a celica which I think felt a bit more responsive, that could be due to weight? When I think about it, I think the main part is that the I feel the car could feel better during the corner. It almost feels like it shouldnt be pushed as it might not handle very well, thats probably due to roll, but I'm a layman when it comes to these things so I might be misreading the signs. Just feels a bit sluggish... Well, hopefully that makes some form of sense? Cheers for the reply Cheers, I'll have a look into it

Hi all, I'm very new to suspension and geometry and I'm wondering if there was much I could do to improve handling on the supra on normal road conditions. The car doesn't lose grip or anything like that, and seems to get more responsive the more you push it, which seems kindof to me! Anyhow, I sometimes feel as though the handling is a bit sloppy, it would be nice to get a bit more feedback on corners. Also I reckon the roll could be reduced a bit. All I can describe it as, is the handling feels slightly...err....muted? Not as sharp as I reckon it could. My only comparison is newer cars to be honest, the handling just feels much sharper even though weight is similar. From what I read, checking geometry should be one of the things I should look into. Also it seems as though just changing the shocks is a good plan, anyone got any pointers? Thanks very much

And I thought I had something good then....

Hey all, just spoken to Matt @ Inchcape Toyota in Derby, they will offer a 10% discount to club members, I just mentioned the club and they agreed. They said its fine to post up that they will do so...so if its handy for anyone, I rang West Bridgford Inchcape as thats local to me but its closed, and I can't remember which Derby it went to (business centre or the other one), so prob best to ring: 08456018542, ask for parts, they will explain that West Bridgford has clsoed and all calls are being routed to Derby then they will put you through. As I said, I spoke to matt, they will also post at cost. A passenger seatbelt ending up costing me £53 which I thought was great.

might take you up on that, will try and get some better scans...

Hey all, I have some japanese service history for my car which I would like to get translated. Its 13 pages, though I don't need all the info, just would like a list saying dates, mileage and what was done during the service. Also there are some shipping documents (I think?) which it would be kinda nice to just know whats on them, important bits like dates etc. Some of the pages didnt scan too well, so if anyone does (extremely kindly!) try and translate a bit and the page is too bad, let me know and ill get colour scans up. If someone wants some cash for doing the whole lot properly let me know a price and I'll say yes or no Thanks very much in advance!

Hey all, just got a new seatbelt off the forum but I reckon its different from my current one. The frame surrounding the belt looks bigger, however I reckon it will still fit, though I have eyt to check. I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts on using a seatbelt different to the one that came out? Has anyone else fitted a different one before? Just interested, I might not fit it as I certainly dont want to risk injury by using an incorrect belt.

The seatbelt or the boot? -
how much for a driver side electric window motor, does that include the metal cable as mine is frayed...
-
Do you have a driver side window motor and cable? cheers!
-
will give these to anyone, just pay me postage and packing. The seatbelt retracts very slowly, although most the time it doesnt bother at all. i have no idea why but when pressing the red release button it retracts... the boot struts arent *too* bad, in the sense they might stay up for a little, but the outcome is always the boot on the head
