  1. Hey guys! Hope you're all well. Purplestock's coming round again, the charity event I ran last year in memory of my girlfriend. This year benefits from cheaper admission, an even greater lineup (although nothing to top the sheer awesomeness of Le Chat Noir's set last year!) and warmer weather - if you can make it to Derby it would be lovely to see some of you. Full details are at http://www.purplestock.co.uk - and for those of you interested in such things, I've written a new blog post as well, entitled "Changing, moving on but never forgetting" - http://www.purplestock.co.uk/kerrysblog.cfm
  2. My wife caught me in bed with Fatima Whitbread. "It's not what it looks like!" I told her "Oh yeah?" she said "Well what is it then?" "It's a woman"
  3. Wild Child, eh? That's some impressive lurkage! Yeah, b3ta really ralllied round, I was blown away by the support I got from everyone there. The original thread where my friend broke the news is a shining example of how awesome that site is: http://www.b3ta.com/board/10050833 I still can't get to anywhere near the bottom of it with a dry eye though.
  4. I've got a friend who does professional CV writing - she did mine for me a couple of years back (and charged me for it!). I'll get her details and PM you mate
  5. Chesterfield? Nah, I was central Derby, now I'm north - Chaddesden. I've done a coupe of gigs in Chesterfield, don't really go there that much otherwise...
  6. Thanks for all the kind words fellas - I'm amazed so many of you remember me too; I wasn't exactly high-profile
  7. Thanks very much. Things are much better for me lately; the first half of this year was very bleak, I think if I'd carried on down the path I was on I'd have been dead or mental by Christmas. In May though, one of my oldest friends came to see me for the weekend; out of the blue everything clicked and now we're engaged! It feels right, doesn't feel like I'm letting Nina down, and BOY does it feel good to be happy again. Strange how life works out...
  8. Haha, yep - that's me! "Professor Kenny Martin" was too long for a user name on here but I didn't notice until after I'd created the account Are you a b3tard too then?
  9. Haha, thanks guys Hopefully I'll be back on here a bit more now... still haven't got back to another Supra, but maybe one day
  10. Pretty much as the subject really - it's been months since I was on here, I haven't really been on much since my girlfriend was killed last year and I'm prety sure not many people will remember me. How is everyone, anyway?
  11. Hope you don't mind me bumping this, think I posted it at the wrong time on Sunday...
  12. My band, Skullfunk, have recorded an EP, and made it available for free download. You need to register, but that's free too and takes 30 seconds. We've dedicated it to the memory of my girlfriend, who was killed in a car accident in May. http://www.skullfunk.com
  13. Charlotte: yes, loads of friends and family. My dad's virtually moved to Derby, he's been an absolute star.
  14. Hi guys, I know a lot of you on here don't know me, I've only been to one meet... I've been kind of hiding a bit lately, but I feel I need to post this. My girlfriend was killed in a car accident last month on her way home from work; she was returning after a night shift and was hit by an articulated lorry. She didn't suffer, for which I'm incredibly grateful. To say I'm gutted is such a massive understatement; after 14 years of shit relationships I'd found the one - Nina and I were so happy together, we'd just bought our first house, and got a dog, and there was never any shred of doubt in my mind that we would be together forever. She was only 26, it's so unfair. So please people, drive carefully; and if you're with someone who's making you unhappy, do something about it - life's too short...
  15. Haha! I've always been a bit wary of Beemers, with the whole image that goes with them and the "Beemer drivers are wankers" thing - I even said to the guy when I test drove it "At least although it's old the indicators won't have been used" But it's built like a tank! 113000 miles so far and looking at some of them on eBay, I reckon it's about halfway through its life
  16. Haha, okay okay, I get the point I'd just like to point out that it wasn't me who wrote my name in the dirt!
  17. As some of you may have seen, I sold my Supe a couple of weeks ago... I needed to get a cheaper car for a while, so seba and I did a deal I found a '93 BMW 520, and picked it up for £1800 less than I got for the Supe - so with the refund on my insurance I had a nice chunk of money to pay off some debts and start sorting my finances out. It's no flying machine, but it's nice to drive, rock solid, and with enough room to fit all my guitar gear in twice over! It'll do for now So, since I'm a member of the club for life I'll be hanging around on here if that's okay with everyone!
  18. I'll say - I didn't even have time to clean it! God, did he give me a hard time over how dirty the car was! Now I'm trying to find somewhere that will give me a decent exchange rate on those Euros... at the moment the best I'm going to get for them is about £200 less than I was hoping for
  19. UPDATE: Wow, that was fast... looks like it might be sold! I'm meeting seba in Northampton tomorrow, hopefully he'll be happy with it and we can do a deal. I'm really going to miss it, but as I said before, it's got to go. I've found an LPG Primera for £600, that'll be far cheaper to run!
  20. scotty71, don't worry I'm definitely going to go down the private route, I was just using them to get an idea of market value EDIT: Just read that article... scumbags! O_o
  21. Suprababe, that's what I'm thinking No matter how much I love it it's just a car, and keeping a roof over my head - and my girlfriend's, and my dog's - is more important!
  22. Scott, if I got £3k for it I could get something small for about a grand, plus I'd get a refund on my insurance, which was £800 last year, plus I wouldn't be spending so much on petrol. I've got a couple of loans and credit card bills from when I got divorced, and with the mortgage I've pretty much got no money for petrol or anything as soon as I've been paid O_o If I can end up with a couple of grand I could pay off one of the credit cards, and gradually start getting my head above water again - as it stands at the moment, I'm drowning! Jamie - good condition, needs a couple of bits doing (main thing is one of the rear brakes is sticking on slightly, I've got a complete set of rear brakes to fit but haven't got round to it yet). Mileage is unknown; the odo is reading 40,000km but I'm pretty sure that's not right. Mechanically it's sound though... EDIT: Plus I won't be terrified of leaving a crappy hatchback outside pubs when I'm gigging!
