  1. Agreed, every carbon part ive seen has been spot on, the fibreglass panels on the other hand have been a lottery but you cant fault the carbon stuff.
  2. If you moved that sensor to the DP you would have much lower readings, those temps are pretty much what ive seen before on a cast manifold and sensor location, the sensors located in the DP are in the wrong place they are only useful for tuning etc but not for reading true manifold temp, ideally there should be 6, 1 in each manifold runner, that way you can tell how each cyl is running;) You are aware that at full chat your turbo hotside and manifold get so hot they almost go see thru arent you?
  3. Where is the sensor located dude? if its in the manifold or in the turbo the temp will be significantly higher than if it were in the DP, sometimes I think no guages is the way to go LOL then you cant be driven mad by them. Or maybe your mapper is crap !!! Ask ryan to take a look at the map or do some logs and send them to him. My egt's were similar with the Arnout manifold and GT35 but we thrashed it all day at Marham and all was fine.
  4. They are not cheap from Toyota I know that much.
  5. dude

    Would you?

Id get another 2K and go buy an 05 M5;)
  6. Whens the first test and tune you can do? Do you mean a webster test day as thats the best track prep you will get.
  7. When you gonna fit a big turbo??? Looks nice Mark should be pretty nippy!
  8. Just waiting on a mail back from Nelson and Ill start planning the build.
  9. The seat is fixed.....................................................for someone of normal height!!!!!!!
  10. http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/assets/images/pdfs/dynosheets2010/632-na-crw.pdf http://www.nelsonracingengines.com/
  11. Mark I dont think I will be able to get in or out the car till the summer, but we can still build it and Ill test it as soon as I am fit enough................................and it will have a 2 step !!!!!
  12. Thats expensive dude, Nelson Race Engines (one of the best builders) 633 carb to pan, twin 1050 Dominator carbs and the best crank and rods is $26,000 thats what we intend to go for altough I need to work out the weight of the car vs Cu in as Comp Eliminator is very complicated, I cant run turbo or supercharger in Super Mod and thats the class I want to run primerily as its heads up and no delay on the tree. Either way its still a steel body supra !!!!!
  13. Oh and you just cant compete with a 14:1 compression 10ltr chevy for sound on open headers !!!!!!
  14. There just arent enough cars to run a pro series, John Bradshaw is going elsewhere so it would leave prob 3 or 4 cars funnily enough all supras, it would be quicker with a 2j than the BBC but much more maintenance and id need a mapper etc at each meeting, im not allowed to run multivalve heads in the class I want to run and TBH a 6 cyl turbo is no good in a bracket class which I will also run in. So for me its fit a 1200hp monster big block and run Super Modified and Comp Eliminator maintenance on the BBC is miniscule compared to running a 1500hp 2J
  15. well sorry to say the jds looks dead in the water for a Pro car so it makes sense to go V8 and run in the 'proper' classes at 'proper' meetings, at the moment the intention is to fit a Big Block Chevy, prob 630 cu in+ (10ltr) and maybe run nitrous, car will be simpler and much more reliable but still run low 7's. As soon as I know for sure i'll sell the remaing parts for a 2J like virtual works intake with fogger system and VW ex manifold with new T6 turbo and harmonic balancer and head etc. Hope you guys still like it.
  16. The 2J is too tall for the majority of TVR's, you would need to have a massive bulge in the bonnets, even a Chevy motor needs a huge bulge in a Tuscan, just about goes in a cerbera though. Id like to stick one in a Z4, there would be no cutting etc.
  17. The place that sells em is Ike Engineering
  18. GET a cast 90 degree fitting, cut the snail and weld it on then weld the v band back on the new facing the front pipe, Si or Tommy can do it for you, but it needs mocking up on the car.
  19. And BMW the new shape minis come with it, prob £1500 in materials to paint that. Most average joes think the sup is a chav car anyway because of the spoiler and kits they have.
  20. Newman Cams could do you a set of NA cams.
  21. Get your money out James you know it makes sense, get Lee to sort it and pistonheads for 20K !!!!! Im in TR^ and Matt Munro mode and I wante sattelite, cover and loads of bits for my RV.
  22. Ok gonna prob regret this when the meds wear off.......................................£12.5K............................. takes it, I will discuss finishing it but it will need to be paid for before work commences or I may as well do that myself, its only the fact it will not sell this side of xmas that im not doing that.
