I know it cant, im just saying its cured my boost leak and somehow with my boost running through the pipes all fine, it seems it has gone up a few notches on the gauge. Ok this is what i have, from what i can remember and i have had done: Full BPU mods including, grade 7 ngk irridiums Greddy FCD Full decat with ( i think) 1 Bar RR Full stainless Motoria exhaust FMIC , not sure on the make Boost gauge HKS SSQV Type 3 ( brand new model) Walbro fuel pump and from memory thats all i can think of but im sure i have forgotten something just out of curiosity which is the less restrictive cat ? just so i can put that back in to lower the boost a bit for the mean time (i hope)
-
yer i think its a 1 bar restrictor ring but dont hold me to that as my memory is like a sieve but yes i do have one.
-
Well i did think that but it was running fine before the boost leak was fixed.... or has it been buggered ever since i put it in ??? guess i will never know untill i get an electronic gauge in there, or get it dyno'd soon

Afternoon all Just got my car back from having a new BOV fitted due to my old one having quite a substantial boost leak I cant for the life of me realise why my boost gauge is saying im hitting just over 1.4 bar on stock turbos ?!?! surely this is totally bad for the twins ?? or so ive heard anyway... whats the best way to lower the boost as i know a boost controller wont do this. which cat is most restrictive 1st or 2nd ? any help would be great as id like to keep both my turbos running oh and i have a BPU Jspec auto TT 97 facelift
-
just asking around if any one has a 1st or 2nd cat pipe they fancy selling to me i reason being im currently running dangerously close to 1.4 bar on my BPU TT Jspec with stock turbo's and i would rather keep them from exploding. also just to ease my pain with passing the MOT in april. cheers for any help guys.

All done, fitted a new HKS ssqv this afternoon so i do not require one now. cheers for the help
-
yes, or so iv been told.... it has a plastic part that secures it to the welded on flange then the unit itself itself is alluminium. and no its a genuine HKS ..... problm solved now anyway as i have fitted an hks ssqv with silver fin very nice sound aswell. cheers for all your ...... help? i guess lol
-
No, unfortunately not, its not made from proper metal i beleive the old hks BOV's where made from a mixture of plastic and aluminium, so not much chance there.
-
I am in dyer need of any type of HKS BOV due to my current one leaking boost, the reason i need an hks dump vavle is due to my intercooler pipe having the welded on flange please if anybody has 1 then speak up, obviously i will pay cheers guys lee

Hey guys , as the tittle says really. I have a boost leak coming from the base of my HKS Racing type1 BOV, its pretty old as it is anyway. My sup is currently at my local garage getting the water pump replaced and they have told me the BOV is letting quite alot of pressure out of a small crack on the base near the flange. The dude at the garage says it needs to be replaced A.S.A.P but the welded on flange ( located on the inter-cooler pipe) will only fit an HKS BOV as others makes have a different style or shape fixing, now, I trust him as hes been superb with me in the last year with my supra. real question is.... would anybody like to sell me any type of HKS BOV? preferably an SSQV with purple fin ... i will only need the unit itself as i already have vac pipes and the flange (obviously) If not then can anybody recommend a reasonably priced retailer to purchase this. cheers guys

As gav has just said, i had the same problem and it turned out to be my brake fluid. Turns out 1mm missing from the reservoir makes alot of difference. top it up dude then see how you go........ even if it looks to the line
-
Just thought id give you a shout to see if you where on here as you passed me going the opposite direction direction down the dual carriageway. From the breif moment i saw you (was in my mates crappy astra ) Lovely looking example of a sup.

I agree with all of you to be fair, Bought it this afternoon for the 360 and i must say the graphics and some of the game play beat COD MW2 hands down. On the other hand its a typical EA FPS Where your enemy's just appear from nowhere and then there bodies vanish into thin air, id say the story mode is roughly the same as COD in places but the thing that really got to me was all the Stop Start cut scenes, its like I load the level then walk 100 metres doing nothing then bam !! unskipable 3 minute cut scene lol doesn't have the same fluidity as COD but im yet to play it online. so cant judge that yet. iv also noticed a fair few small glitches with the single player mode, like the inability to LAY DOWN !!! what's all that about ??? surely the have completely missed something there ?? and say for example you standing next to a wall with a platform on the top of the wall , you cant jump up there but you can magically use the machine gun up there just by standing next to the wall below it ?!?!?! they needed more time to sort silly things like that out. IMHO. All in all id say its worth the £39.99 or £42.99 if you want the armour stuff or whatever it is. Dont think anything will beat COD MW2 online for me , but im willing to try new things

thanks for the advice etc guys , just got it back from SPC and low and behold Mr Wilson does it again. water pump seals have gone so a new one has been ordered and will be replaced along with all coolant pipes and a new cambelt just for good measure. thanks for the Help guys

Love the choice of Alloy's dude i have exactly the same size etc and i can tell you they look pretty sweet on the sup, and yes in real life they do look rather big on a white sup. Iv always wanted to go smaller but Im too in love with my Jade R's, Can i ask where you purchased these from as I seem to be missing the centre cap for my drivers front, car came with the alloys in pretty bad condition to be fair, i really need them refurbed but lack of funds is preventing me from getting them done.

i think you may have just made me sleep that little bit better dude , im really starting to get worried as to what it is guess ill find out what it might be tomorrow. Dont you Just hate it when your pride and joy is hurting, really puts a downer on me seeing as its my daily drive and iv looked after her soo much its painfull to see her like this ( plays a little violin) also is it common with a leak that it will suck coolant in from the tank ? i seem to go through a tanks worth in about 2 days
-
Ok ill get them to check it out, cheers nic On the other hand how much would i be looking at for a new head gasket/repaired if thats the case ? im hoping to the heavens it isnt that.
-
Hey guys Sorry to be an ass, im sure you have heard lots of threads about leaking pipes etc I need some expert advise I have a coolant Leak coming from somewhere near the back of the engine Im going through a radiator and a tanks worth every 5 days or so, Now reading other threads it would lead me to beleive either a pipe is perished/lose/buggered or worse case its the water pump. I have also checked the oil and there is no sign of collant in there so that maybe lessons the possibility of it being my head gasket. When i start the car there is a steady drip of coolant coming from just next to the oil sump plug, i have looked as hard as i can do see where its coming from but to no avail, any advice what it might be ?? Iv checked all visible coolant hoses etc and there all tight and dry, iv heard something about a hose which site behind the engine ?? maybe this has come lose , im at a lose with this one. The cars booked in tommorrow at my local performance place which they will try and locate the problem but if it is the water pump (hopefully not) what will i be roughly looking at for a replacement and labour costs ? Cheers guys and sorry in advance if iv just put this in the wrong section oh and i have a jspec BPU Auto TT
-
Nice one boys, ill see what happens. oh and about the HID's they where in my old astra coupe and i did not have projectors for them so therefore they where illegal. thanks guys
-
oooo i think you might of just made me sleep better tonight then

Hey guys Bit of a random thread, I currently have 1st and 2nd Decats on my BPU supra its due for an MOT in early April I have quiet a trusty guy i go to whos let me off a fair few things in the past I.E HID lights and small things like that. Question is... do you think i should risk giving it to him with both decats on or is it worth buying/borrowing just the 2nd cat and getting it through ?? Im worried as i think he will pick up on it and make me buy a new one which im assuming wil be ££££ What do you guys rekon? Oh and just on the off chance if anybody has a 2nd cat for a Jspec auto TT they want to lend me for a few days, id be forever in your debt i will happily pay for the postage costs.
