Help to resurrect the dead, automotively speaking of course!!
Supra-love replied to oxygene's topic in Supra Chat
You are correct there has never been a registered company under James according to company’s house and gov sites. He’s basically a sole trader going under a made up name. I think your best port of call is get legal advice and maybe call the correct authorities as it can be classed as theft, you’ve paid your bills and have the messages to prove this! Your not the only one that’s been affected mate so your not alone. People will have something to say because they have had work done by him which ended satisfactory, unfortunately none of it helps the situation in getting your car the way you paid for it to be, and doesn’t excuse what he’s been up to. I think even if he magically appears and gives you all the reasons under the sun why this has happened, it is a awful service and workmanship that’s been given, there’s no excuse for this to be fair, you’ve paid your bills for a full car to be finished and got a shell back. Although nothing anyone says can make it better at least we can support you by talking about it mate. -
Made myself a nice 4” stainless intake pipe and vapour blasted the cooling panel ready for paint today.

Fingers crossed for you bud, I can see you’ve been a member since 2003, so you’ve got a long standing in the club. Hopefully the club will help, they couldn’t help me with my issues with James. Although your story is different than mine, you’ve been and are being treated exactly the way I was. Got my fingers crossed for you mate, keep in touch via pm and whatnot -

He was recommended to me too and he wrecked my car mate. Had it’s for years too. Still fixing his f*** ups now. Massive lesson learned. Like @Bender has said I too have trust issues since my experience, I hope you get your engine and the rest of the car back! To be safe, I would make sure to get everything checked that he’s touched, extra money I know but mine was a danger to life and not fit for the road after he had it. Don’t want to see anyone in a accident. Keep the thread updated mate. Sent you a pm mate. -

Sounds great, if no club stand then we have to convoy in to have spots together! -
Simply Japanese will be returning to Beaulieu on 25 July, for an excellent day out that owners and enthusiasts will enjoy. Set in the parkland of the National Motor Museum, the rally is open to all ages and models of Japanese vehicles and is always a highlight of the events calendar. We will continue to run our Simply rallies in a covid-secure way in 2021. https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-japanese/ A few of us are already attending this year, if anyone else is interested we can meet prior to entering so the Supra members are together! gates open at 8:30am and the show starts at 10am finishing at 2pm. If enough interest I can try arrange a club stand!

She’s all ready to pick up Monday all dialled in and running sweet, be going to blackboots (chesham) in the next few weeks to get the full works height, cambers etc all geo’d up, finish the running in and then get her to romain for final tune!
-
Thanks dude! Yeah at least I’m still alive hey!
-
Exactly that mate, they said it could of been very dangerous, so glad it’s found and fixed. Everything going well now, all to do is dial in the sensor on the dyno and run her in fully, finally
-
So it’s my lucky day today, the engine is now running sweet as a nut all thanks to dc. I also thought I had a noisy rattle in the clutch area too, so got them to check that, they found the driveshaft to be loose causing the rattle against the exhaust area, and the steering rack was also loose, with the pas pipes kinked. They said when checking it all two bolts fell straight out the driveshaft mating point. Thank god they found these issues before something bad happened driving it.

Purring like a kitten now, with the new cam gears and arpbolts dc also adjusted the cam timing which improved the idle and give a better top end!

Sorry haven’t posted in a bit, had a tappy noise that needed looking into. Map sensor also failed on me runnin in which chucked fuel into her and messed the map up. So bought some nice bc cam gears + arp bolts, a new Syvecs 4bar map sensor will be dialled in on the dyno. Also got some good compression results. (In Bar) Oil and wear materials have been checked and are minimal, normal for break in. Sieved the oil and checked the oil filter element etc. Tappy noise was caused by slightly loose cam gear bolt (minor) but we checked everything over anyway.

No rubbing on the fronts with 30mm and no rubbing on the rears with 25mm mate but this is with nitron r1 suspension which is quite hard. Although mine is due suspension geo to adjust height and cambers etc after underbody was done. But after reading into it 25mm rear and 30mm fronts owners saying it’s perfect

Finally got round to giving her a well needed wash today! Fitted some of the pod kit too! Looks so much better already, now to remove the stickers etc and fit some more parts I’ve got waiting around
-
I think it’s from the thin running in mineral oil mate. Also the titanium springs and retainers and 264 cams possibly making slightly more noisy than stock.
