The speedo converter is behind the clocks, its a small black box with a few wires coming out of it which I think are +12v, earth, speedo sender in, sender out etc... and there is one grey wire which says 'ecu' and this is the only wire which isnt connected to anything! My speedo works in mph and my odo and trip says 'MILES' next to it but the odo and trip still count up in kms??? Also the car is still limited and I have read that speedo converters sometimes de-limit your car also? Hope this helps, Coz im confused!
-
Anyone? Can anyone tell me what the grey wire is? is it to deristrict the car or is it to make the odo clock up in miles?
-
Just found a thread in the 'HOW TO' section opn speedo converters but just wanna cheack that ive read it right. I take the grey wire that is supposed to go to the ecu and I splice it into the 2nd wire on the ecu in the middle which is a pink wire, can someone who has done this confirm that is right? Also will this then make my supra clock up in miles? The odo has already been converted so that it says MILES and not KLM or whatever is said before.

Hi all, My 1994 NA has already had a speedo converter fitted but the milage and trip still counts up in kilometeres so I took the clocks out today to check all the wiring was wired in correctly. Upon removing the clocks I noticed that the grey wire from the converter wasnt wired into anything, according to the insructions on the top on the converter it says the grey wire goes to the ecu. Where exactly does this go and will it then make my supra clock up in miles?

I would do you a swap with mine? What is the system you have on it at the minute? I could do you a straight swap for my standard system in mint condition. also where are you based?

It was quite a good day in the end, had a bit of snow at about 1.30pm but only lasted 5mins and the track dried up nicely once they had swept it! managed to get a 14.8 in my NA which I was well happy with - considering it is standard apart from the backbox! There was a white supra TT there, very nice, was it anyones off here?
-
il be there cya there!

Yeah thats what it seems like to me but if you push the buttons in with the door open then the interior light goes off so the only explanation I can think of is it must be the rear hatch, Where is the button located on the rear hatch? anyone know? I had a look for mine yesterday and couldnt see anything!

The triangle is on all the time when the engine is started along with the light in the centre of the dash which indicates that a door is open. I have tried the error code trick and no ligts flash etc.... Where is the best place to buy a panel filter from then? I dont want an expensive one just something cheap that wont cuase problems and does the trick.

Anyone???

I have a 1994 NA supra and I have a few questions/problems which need sorting if anyone can help? 1. I am in the process of looking to buy an induction kit for the car but I have noticed that just before the airbox there is what looks to me like some sort of air sensor, when I buy an induction kit where does this sensor go? Does it need to be plugged into the air intake? An easy solution would be to just buy a panel filter but I have a few induction kits sat in my garage from old cars which I would like to give a try 1st. 2. The light in the centre of the instrument panel which is a red box with ! in the middle last week started to stay on constantly along with the red warning light that shows a door is open even when all doors are shut. The buttons in the door shuts which are on the door catch both still work as when you push them in the interior light goes off, so what can this be? any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

It sounded like a jet! unbeleivable! the best sounding car iv ever heard! It was that good! Was it you? I was the lad in the white NA
-
Yeah think im going to lrave it as it isnt much cheaper than the one in the link at the top and atleast i know that one fits! Thanks for all the help people! much appreciated!!!

Ive found this on ebay and just wondered what sort of gains can be achieved? Also is it cheap and will it make the car alot louder? What part of the exhaust is removed with it, doies it remove any cats or silencers? Thanks http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OBX-Exhaust-Manifold-Headers-93-98-Toyota-Supra-3-0L-I6_W0QQitemZ380001041048QQihZ025QQcategoryZ38786QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

New Supra owner with a few quick questions!
ben_stevo replied to ben_stevo's topic in mkiv Technical
So its just got a poor speedo converter? Am i right in thinking that It just goes behind your clocks in the sender wire for the speedo? Does this alter the odometer and trip aswell automatically? My milage says 70,000 but still reads in km, surely it doesnt have 70,000 kms so it must have been altered, right? The lights, even if I bang the dash they dont normally come on but every time I get in the car a different set of lights are off! Also I can find the downloadable schematic for the speaker brackets on that link, all I can see is a group buy for them, I know a joiner so he will come in handy! -
Hi guys, iv been a member on here for a month or so now but I have been looking for a nice NA. I have managed to find one and im really pleased with it but I have a few quick questions. 1. What size are the front and back speakers as they are pathetic and im going to buy some new ones! I would take them out or measure them but I dont know how to get the covers off! 2. My Speedo has been converted to MPH and the odometer says miles after the milage but it still counts up in KPH! How do I sort it? 3. The lights around the heater dials and where all the buttons are sometimes come on and sometimes dont and sometimes some come on and some stay out! Whats the problem there? 4. What fuel should I use? normal unleaded or super? 5. my trans code has the B in it which indicates that it has the LSD, is this rare or common? I am going to buy some speakers tonight hopefully so quick replys would be much appreciated. Thanks very much!

Depends what skyline it is? Only the r34 is 4 wheel drive.
-
Yeah but I know what id rather drive! Starlets look like pizza delivery cars! I had a glanza about a year ago and sometimes I was embarassed to drive it!

I had an RX7 before the astra but got fed up of its unreliablility, its pretty much the same with the astra! Always breaking, lights popping up on the dash every week, so annoying! I want a car that is reliable and ive heard the supra NA is, but I also do alot of miles as my missus is from newbury which is 200 miles from me in leeds and we visit her family quite often so it has to be comfy and not too loud (unlike the astra) aswell as not too bad on petrol. I also want something thats pretty quick though as I dont like to see w***ers in type r's etc blow me away at the lights! Whats the fuel consumption like on the NA? How much is a full tank and what does it do to a full tank miles wise? also what does it do to £10 as then I can compare it to the astra which does around 40 miles on a tenner.
-
Yeah my astra is modded, has VXR turbo and stage 1 remap, decat, etc... Yeah I must admit a supra looks alot better than the astra thats why I want one, 0-60 in 6.9 is still pretty good for a big car, bet it feels faster than what it actually is. I wish I could spend the whole £8000 that my astra is up for, Id get a TT then but I have to buy 2 cars out of this and I have limited myself to £4000 for the supra.
-
Makes me not want to get one now! Ive wanted one for so long and its dissapointing really, I thought they were alot quicker! I would get the TT but the insurance will kill me and running costs etc... Does anybody know any 1/4 mile times on a NA? Iv looked on you tube etc and on here and cant find anything! sub 15?
