  1. Numerous times, yes. I'm 100% sure it doesn't like the new connectors lol. I mean it's weird now it works great with the bended old ones , than i switch to the new ones and with the same battery and it runs awful.. And the ECU had time to learn after the reset as i've driven a lot from then. Also the new ones came with appropriate o ring connectors... so that's not an issue either. Thing that pisses me off is that i've drilled the positive part to fit the extra large bolt of the new connector and now i'm asking myself how am i supposed to come back even to an average sized connector without replacing that too..
  2. The new terminals have the same system as this one in the pic.(only a lot larger and very heavy). This is a genuine Supra battery terminal, which i can only seem to find in the US. Shipping is 120 bucks for 2 terminals lol..
  3. No mate, along with the smaller terminals i'll be buying a small batery for asian vehicles , just like the original one i had inside.
  4. Do they have small battery terminals like the original ones on the Supra? I cant seem to find. I want also to go back to a small battery for Japanese vehicles. Maybe you can add a link mate. Thks
  5. Ok guys bear with me a bit. One morning my original small Supra battery decided to die. As i was in a hurry i've picked up a normal sized battery, with bigger connectors and managed to fit the original connectors on to it by bending them. All was OK. After a few days i decided to replace the connectors with bigger ones as well to fit the new battery better. Now the car starts very hard( previously it started instantly as i switched the key) and everything inside is trembling and making weird noises in idle. What's funny is that it's the same battery that ran fine with the old bended connectors. I've changed a couple of batteries from then and same stuff is happening. The new connectors are brand new and well tightened. My question is where can i get original battery conectors for a 1997 Supra N\A , including the positive part thing which i've drilled a bigger hole for the new connector to fit it? I've atached a pic with what i would need(pic is of the old battery). I really want my car working like a few weeks ago. Thanks!
  6. Anybody know where i could find original Jap Spec battery connectors in case i've ditched mine?
  7. In the attachment for the MT, for the 6spd transmission it's recommended to use Toyota V160 oil or ESSO ATF DEXRON, which is easier to find but it's specs say that it is for automatic transmissions so is it safe to use on the 6spd?
  8. Nothing works... i give up .... Neither of the latches won't lock onto anything, pulling the leaver in the car (definitely weaken) will result in a ticking under the hood somewhere in the drivers upper part. I tried pushing the metallic wire connected to the leaver into the cable and managed making the leaver stiffen and go into closed position and than tried to close the bonnet but with no success... Guess i need to take the car somewhere this weekend or get someone to do something to it cause i need it on Monday and i'm also doing highway miles and don't want a broken windshield or killing somebody. Sheeeesssshhhhh.... unbelivable
  9. When i pull the leaver i can hear a ticking noise in the engine compartment ... meaning the cable is moving ok ? idk... i'll try oiling the areas in the morning, thanks mate
  10. I don't think it will matter if the mechanism won't lock mate
  11. I tried to simulate closing it with a tool, pushed the mechanism down as much as it can go but it popped back.. The release lever feels a bit weak but not completely loose. Still i can remember it wasn't as weak as this last time I checked.
  12. Alright ... Did an oil and filter change this morning... everything went smoothly ... till i tried to close the bonnet that is. The bonnet just wont lock... The piece of metal enters perfectly in the latch mechanism , lowers it but doesn't lock the hood pops back. Any help will be much appreciated thks
  13. Hey! I bought my first Supra from the UK a few months ago and it's great i love it (my first one and certainly not my last) Car is a non turbo 6spd facelift and according to the service record it's time for a air filter change also wanting to add a little grunt to it i was thinking of purchasing a Stock Replacement Air Filter from K&N , the thing is i vaguely remember reading somewhere to use only Toyota OEM filters on N\A's cause others may harm the engine of course this gives me a little bit of a hold back is this thing true? Thank you
  14. Once, i was getting ready to drive off on a green light and my engine stopped like i was releasing the clutch too early , than after starting the engine for the third time i realized it was dead, i pushed the gas pedal to the floor consecutively and it was just idling than all of a sudden it revived itself and never had the problem again and i'm 100% sure it was from the alarm system because it started acting strange just before.
  15. Hey there, this is my first Supra, just got it for a month and i am a bit confused... The car had an oil and filter change 4500 miles ago and i would like to know if it's time to change again or not... because some guys here say they do it after 3000 miles maximum but on a fluids dedicated thread at the oil part it stated "Interval = 9-12,000miles depending on use" so can anybody tell me how it's done correctly pls Oh and also the place where i will service it will use HERTH+BUSS consumables (air filters, oil filters etc) are this of good quality? Is it ok for my Supra( 97' SZ-R 6spd manual). Thanks
