Sorry to post this here but it's not worth starting a new thread for it and it's somewhat related... How big of a mistake is getting 245/40/18 tyres for the fronts (8.5J rim) (stock suspension) ? Is there a risk of rubbing at full lock or something ? Thanks

Don't like the exterior. Would pay 100k+ ( pretending i was rich) for that spec with JamieP's exterior. Now that would break more hearts and bring more goosebumps than any 80k Gallardo out there.

Interesting thread. Any ideas what would be the rough estimate for the cost of building a new 2JZ-GTE engine ( without turbos) ?

That will be my first option. Might not look like before in the end but i'm sure a skillful mechanic can get pretty close to that.

Battery was flat, tried pushing it out of the garage, driver door was slightly opened and it hit something on the way out. Not even funny considering i've owned this car for 2 and a half years and i've never put a scratch on it until today, and what a first "scratch" it was. Hope the second one doesn't leave me without a door or something

The problem in this case is what if the two paintjobs don't match. I will probably have a temporary fix for this, straightening and spraying that area with closest matching paint until doing a full respray in the future.

I know the dent itself isn't major and it's placement makes it easier to fix then one , let's say in the middle of the door, but it still needs a respray in that area and paint is not easy to match Even so, it would be better than it is now. It breaks my heart seeing it everytime i get in the car. Interesting project mate, the R154 seems like a good alternative to the more pricey V160/V161. Luckily my Supra already has the V161, now the hassle is finding a proper engine

Well that crossed my mind a bit from the first moment i've seen what i've done to the car. It's funny because i was thinking about having a full respray in the future just for the sake of it before getting this dent Now it looks i really need it. It's going to have to wait anyway, NA-TT conversion is set in spring. Cheers mate

What can i say.. screwed up big time today and managed to get this on the driver's door Never had any bodywork issues until today (obviously it's a first time for everything), so don't know how to assess this.. How bad is it ? Paint is cracked obviously. Cheers

My search for a low mileage 2JZ-GTE for my SZ-R starts today. I've been dreaming about making this step, for some time now. Finally after numerous efforts i've managed to secure some cash for an A grade engine (hopefully). Requirements : Should be a complete, genuine JDM Supra engine(rear sump) with ECU, turbos, loom (uncut). Should come from a 95'+ Supra (preferably late non-vvti series), low mileage (preferably under 60k). For sellers in the UK ( if it's possible), i would prefer to see the engine running on the car before breaking it. Budget : 2000GBP at this time, excluding shipping which will be arranged personally and at self expense. Personally, if i had the funds i'd buy it. Too much headaches, ups and downs, time spent when building your own. Of course there is satisfaction that is your own work, but at what expense? Much more money and time spent this way. I personally think that is too far from stock mate. 9.5 on the fronts is going to tramline like hell. Even though it may look slightly better it isn't worth it IMO.
