  1. Threads like this make me spend money !! I think i've had enough of being NA.
  2. Hello there, I have a 2007 Peugeot 206 1.6HDi ( 110hp) that is out of the service period. My dad went to a garage to get the oil changed. Had 4L's of Motul oil with him for the change. I forgot to tell him the capacity is 3.5L ( from what i've read over the internet, can't find official values) and apparently the mechanic didn't know what he was doing either so he put all 4L's of oil. Checking the dipstick now shows the oil well over full line. I'm thinking of getting an oil sucking pump and get some of the oil out. My question is how bad putting 4L of oil in that engine is ? It's somewhat scary for me knowing i put 4,8L my Supra which is a 3.0L engine ... Thanks
  3. Mine too. At home and at work !
  4. IMO the Supra is a modern looking car. A mint Supra with a nice set of wheels looks nuts.
  5. I get the washer separately, at an extra price from the filter. When oil change time comes i get a Toyota oil filter, a washer and 5L of Motul oil ( my car only takes about 4.8L). EDIT : Oh and a funnel is a must I'd say
  6. Little update on this. I managed eventually to get to the block drain bolt from above, seems easier this way ! To my surprise, or not, my car takes less coolant than it should ! I hardly managed to get 6L of coolant into the system. The manuals states that over 8 ltrs are needed. But so the manual states that 6L of oil are needed for an oil change but my Supra takes only about 4.8L.. Anyway the heaters are blowing hot air, temperature gauge is normal guess i did a good job. I'll keep an eye on the coolant level just in case, knowing i put 2L less coolant.
  7. Will do mate. Here is a pic i found from a thread in 2007 with the location. For anyone else that might be interested. Going to get dirty now
  8. I see. Not a very big fan of working under a jacked up car but seems i have to do it from under. Cheers mate.
  9. In the picture i can see the area where the gearbox mounts to the engine, i've looked in that area and there is absolutely nothing. Is the plug only visible\accessible from under the car ? If so that is my problem ...
  10. Hi, I love DIY so after changing the oil and filters myself, i decided to go for the coolant as well. Problem is I cannot find the engine block coolant drain plug. I've looked and looked and cannot find anything resembling the drain plug, union pipe or rubber hose featured in this picture... Can anyone help with a more clearer location ? I mean it's on the left side of the engine ( driver's side on RHD cars), it's in the mid, lower part of the engine? It's under the shield ? Engine is a 2JZ-GE. Thanks
  11. The Supra NA has 213 ft/lb so about 290 NM! Considerably more than the S2000.
  12. Feel for you mate ... Hope you get it sorted. Glad you're OK though !

    failed mot

Unlucky mate.. I'm sure on Monday she'll run through MOT. As you said, you've waited 2 years, you can wait another 2 days now
  14. Problem is i don't have access to a garden hose. I'm thinking of draining the radiator and drain what i can by opening the drain bolt on the side of the block, BTW is that on the passenger or driver side ? Only thing resembling a drain bolt i can find on the drivers side. Then fill the radiator with water run the engine, drain all the contents and refill with coolant. Also, does this look like Toyota Red coolant ? Looks kind of pink to me.
  15. Just checked mate and it was at max. Looking again it's not that bad, as you said should be reasonably bright and it is. Being too bright wouldn't be good for your night driving either
  16. Cheers Josh. Wheels weren't expensive either. They were like 750 quid new.
  17. Few years ago, while being lost somewhere in Belgium and raining heavily, came to a stoplight. It switched to green, i wanted to go, but my engine died. Restarted it and tried to move, same thing. Restarted again, it was idling nicely, pressed only the acceleration this time, the car wasn't revving at all. Cars were starting to honk behind, turned on the blinkers. Stopped and restarted the engine for the 3d time engine and it went fine this time. Dreadful and scary moment. Had something to do with the immobilizer.
