  1. That’s interesting, I’ll see how that goes down with the insurance. Waiting on a call back from Lancaster. I said in another thread that these cars seem to be appreciating quicker than the insurance companies are comfortable with despite providing adverts, full spec, all receipts and many photos. That said, ours is just the VVT-i tiptronic, nothing as desirable as a TT6 or U.K. spec.
  2. This is the problem I am having with insurance companies at the moment, trying to get them to entertain an agreed value despite providing adverts, receipts and photos. These cars are increasing at a rate insurance companies appear uncomfortable with.
  3. I’m calling them on Monday. Update on Reis, they weren’t wanting to entertain my current cover or the policy price. Had to phone them up to get that answer. The car isn’t getting used so I am tempted not to bother until next year but that doesn’t feel a safe or clever option.
  4. All horrible suggestions from me I’m afraid. Can you opened the plugs up? If you can’t, try de-pinning each one, checking the connection is solid, clean it and put it back. Maybe look soldering if any cables are loose. What are the connections like on both plugs? Fractured cable? Has anything on the loom been accidentally pinched?
  5. I would hope anyone buying this (considering the for sale reason) would offer market price rather than bending the guy over without having the decency to offer a reach around or ask his name first.
  6. The Supra’s insurance is up for renewal. Contacted Sky, they couldn’t be bothered to get back to me and seemed really disinterested. Contacted Reis yesterday so waiting for a quote. Flux is currently £379 which is up from £300 last year. 3000 miles, garaged on private drive, agreed value, legal cover, salvage buy back and 23 years/maximum NCD.
  7. I’m not on FB but those photos couldn’t be lower res if he tried. Unless he can provide high res images and will tell you exactly what it’s made from I wouldn’t touch them. I know I’m a fussy tw@t but they look shyte.
  8. I assume you know how much a 3D printed panel will cost? For the smallest dash panel I wouldn’t mind betting you are looking at £500+. @Burna What would you charge?
  9. @baldy Can you help?
  10. When don’t they. The forum desperately needs a decent insurance company that is interested in being competitive for the members and providing them with the cover they need. Sky haven’t been like this for years as they quickly realised the forum is easy pickings.
  11. The Toyota crash bars use EN AW-7003 aluminium alloy, a zinc containing alloy Its the top alloy specifically formulated for its corrosion protection and strength (rated 4 out of 4 for both). The 7xxx alloys are apparently stronger than some steel alloys and resist cracking/tearing. Essentially they are ductile and not brittle unlike some decorative aluminium alloys that you can shatter with a hammer blow. https://www.makeitfrom.com/material-properties/1050-H14-Aluminum https://www.makeitfrom.com/material-properties/7003-AlZn6Mg0.8Zr-A97003-Aluminum
  12. Lovely Jubbly Matt, shouldn’t hang around at that price.
  13. rider is right. In today’s age of compo culture ("where there's blame, there's a claim") it is routinely and improperly sought without being based on the application of legal principles such as duty of care, negligence or causation. It’s an ethos which believes that all misfortunes, short of an Act of God are someone else's fault. “Suffering” is relieved by the receipt of a sum of money.
  14. New? Used? OEM? Aftermarket? A bit more information would be good as it will help others in the future.
  15. Rand Paul & Dr. Fauci Go Head To Head Fauci seems to be going with the Strawman whereas the real subject of the argument was not addressed or refuted.
  16. Don’t use Mr T unless you are desperate! Try TCB who are a forum trader - https://www.tcbparts.co.uk or if you want to try overseas there is https://www.amayama.com/en but you need to factor in shipping costs and import charges.
  17. Wow, what a blast to the past! Beautiful.
  18. LOCK STEP A world of tighter top-down government control and more authoritarian leadership, with limited innovation and growing citizen pushback In 2012, the pandemic that the world had been anticipating for years finally hit. Unlike 2009's HlNl, this new influenza strain — originating from wild geese — was extremely virulent and deadly. Even the most pandemic-prepared nations were quickly overwhelmed when the virus streaked around the world, infecting nearly 20 percent of the global population and killing 8 million in just seven months, the majority of them healthy young adults. The pandemic also had a deadly effect on economies: international mobility of both people and goods screeched to a halt, debilitating industries like tourism and breaking global supply chains. Even locally, normally bustling shops and office buildings sat empty for months, devoid of both employees and customers. https://archive.org/stream/pdfy-tNG7MjZUicS-wiJb/Scenarios for the Future ofTechnology and International Development_djvu.txt By 2025, people seemed to be growing weary of so much top-down control and letting leaders and authorities make choices for them. Wherever national interests clashed with individual interests, there was conflict. Sporadic pushback became increasingly organized and coordinated, as disaffected youth and people who had seen their status and opportunities slip away— largely in developing countries — incited civil unrest. 19. There is an easy way to stop that happening. All you have to do is cover yourself head to toe in Goose fat, then wrap your whole body clingfilm and put on a tinfoil hat.
  20. Wurth sell a decent two part plastic repair kit but you need the gun to use it and the patches too. Nice and expensive, I’d try to find a body shop that uses Wurth products.
  21. I get that, just in the interests of fairness and science it would have been nice to test a new CW SMIC and a new FMIC back to back. Out of interest how old was yours? Did Wez ever having a problem tracking his single turbo with the CW SMIC? That is so long ago now I can’t remember Did you try a WI set up to lower IAT’s?
  22. Brand new SMIC or the same one from your BPU days?
