  1. Maybe the MKVI, if there is one, will be an exclusive Toyota build that will be developed here.
  2. Taken from here - https://www.autoblog.com/2019/04/29/toyota-built-mini-nurburgring-replica-track/?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAJ8i3fRefRi4tWWOMX8A_gSEBydZWSJiiKLkYRNy2Qe2_vCPGGM_lPqFoPfGl7H4iQh1TjJ9zmkgMz231O1kGhT4B4nyNGl8XwsdJVy01xAnCSvOE1WljzQaXBrY72nhsreRmbEOkftw85KRldlEIMdRPtubhrclgg5klPJoAyPE Toyota just finished and opened a proving grounds facility in Japan with a Nürburgring-inspired racetrack as one of the main events at the complex. "Based on long experience of the Nürburgring Nordschleife, which is famous throughout the world for its grueling driving conditions, Toyota has designed an exacting test course that takes advantage of local topography and features a roughly 75-meter change in elevation between its highest and lowest points, as well as a wide range of curves and corners." Now, the test track isn't as long as the Nürburgring at only 3.3 miles in length, but Toyota was serious about trying to mimic the conditions. The whole course winds through a 2.5-mile wooded area filled with hills and elevation changes. Akio Toyoda said this in a statement about the test track: "With the aim of making ever-better cars, we have continued to make various efforts in 'feeling the road' and 'conversing with cars' through driving tests around the world. With the replication of severe driving conditions at the new test course, we intend to thoroughly hone every one of our models and develop the types of cars that epitomize the true joy of driving." Those are heady words for Toyota. The company has been serious about making its cars more fun to drive as of late, and this is one more example of that intention. This track is set to be a part of a larger complex that has various simulations of other roads around the world, in addition to a high-speed test track. It's said to have cost $2.68 billion to build, and while the Toyota Nürburgring is operational now, the entire facility will be ready in 2023. It's hard to tell much from the limited photography provided, but the aerial shot definitely reminds us of the rolling German forests at the Nürburgring. Now let's just hope Toyota follows through and gives us even more engaging cars to drive.
  3. What is the spec of your engine herbie? Complete NA or a mixture of NA & TT parts? What size are your injectors?
  4. I put on women's clothing and hang around in bars too but you don't seem to know that about me. As I said, HOVIS!
  5. You're telling me! I ain't even married...
  6. God that was hard to read, let alone digest. You are obviously angry, step away from the computer take a deep breath and count to 10. I'll play this game as I'm waiting on tea to cook. Do elaborate. I call Hovis.
  7. I guess if you measure success in life as an unbelievable car history then more power to you. I chose to measure success in a more natural way, caring and giving to others without asking for anything in return and none of it involving money. That shows how truly different we are. Are you threatening me with legal proceedings twinkle? Don't forget to screenshot your bigoted and prejudice remarks from the Brexit thread too.
  8. 'Cos this place is well shit, the forums going down hill. In other news, welcome Sweep. Looking to buy or a new owner?
  9. It looks like an overgrown electric shaver. I know i'm hard to please picky twat but I really can't see it being any good unless you take a razor to your head first. It will have to be used it daily to keep any stubble down and if you miss a day to two I would bet it's a nightmare.
  10. Yeah, that's the killer and something that always needs to be weighed up. That ashtray much have been a substantial saving on its own. Nice little haul, can't beat new OEM parts.
  11. Sometimes part numbers are superseded or a part is used on another vehicle so you get a different number. It always pays off to cross reference parts like this and it will be a lot cheaper than buying in the Uk too. Does that mean you didn't have any problems with your Amayama order?
  12. The difference in build quality will be night and day. Granted they are expensive, when I used to look at buying clippers I tried to figure what it would cost me to go to the barbers to get it done over one over two years. Back then it was twice a week at £5 per visit plus tip. So it's a substantial saving.
  13. Porsche trying to cut back on production costs? If I had the money to pick up a classic model I don't know if I could justify the outlay. What else are you interested in? You mentioned Supercar, what is tickling your fancy?
  14. You might be lucky and find one in the Jan sales. If you are using clippers at the moment why are you looking to change to something else?
  15. Is it a daily or another toy? Any plans to mod it? Is that two MKV's I see? One behind the MKIV.
  16. Thats low even by your standards. It's crass comments like that, that stop people posting up on the forum. Give the guy a break, if you were joking then it wasn't funny. Talking about giving the guy a break, you've had one long enough Walter. Of course you would have bought an FT-1. Just like the imaginary Tesla's you owned. When I called Hovis on your car history in the Brexit thread, I decided to take a screenshot of your "most noticeable car history" signature. We will call this exhibit A. Dated 02/11/19. After a recent thread where Tesla was mentioned you decided to speak out quite authoritatively about them some way into the thread. Almost like you owned one... We will call this exhibit B. Dated 26/11/19. Spot the difference? No? I'll give you a clue. Electric vehicles. Whilst I'm at it, I noticed you're claiming that you are the recipient of unwarranted vile and abusive behaviour from Noz. You know how I love my evidence and proof. Do me a little favour, go and copy and past in this thread these terrible words naughty Noz has said. I am sure a moderator would like to see them so they can deal with this rapscallion. Was it when he showed you up as being such a Supra enthusiast for some reason you didn't know the difference between the OEM air boxes? Was it being called out offering poor advice on a 800hp engine build. Did that get your back up? You remember, the one where you stated to the OP you would be happy building an engine without billet mains. Your defence being you are happy to take a calculated risk. Stellar advice. Top marks. If you don't know what your talking about, as you clearly don't by your many posts and threads. Keep your tramp mouth shut! (Thanks Greg ). You never know, you might actually learn something. I doubt you will understand it but you can at least copy and paste it so next time the question is asked you can answer it. That way you can keep riding on the coat tails of others by quoting their advice and adding the complimentary "This" as a way to make yourself seem more knowledgeable. Ta ta for now
  17. I hated the headlights as they remind me of a fried egg but the back end is nice, as you say very reminiscent of the 80's. That said, when inside you can't see the outside and if you can your driving too slow. The 993 looked okay, 996 not so much but 997 onwards has been good. Even the 944 or 928 would be a bit of fun, not an investment though.
  18. Watch the market on the 911 turbo, once they bottom out they are a great investment. I'd love a 964.
  19. Maybe I didn't explain myself particularly well, if I didn't I apologise Ric How long before we see a swap both ways? Wait, that didn't sound as was intended, more of an offer of sorts. I'll try that again. How long before we see a Zupr4 swapped into the Z4 to make an aerotop? I am guessing this would be pretty straight forward.
  20. I thought that too but quietly hope it will make an appearance. The night racing and those glowing brake discs are fascinating to watch. That TS050 LMP1 was something else too.
  21. As I have always said I am comparing base model to base model. No it's not. One goes out the door with it's head removed wearing a BMW badge and the other leaves through another door with a couple of bumps and a false skin wearing a Toyota badge. Last time I looked, Astra is an Astra as an Astra is an Astra. If Toyota choses to offer a higher spec base model compared with BMW then that is their choice. This has always been about the cost of getting "into" the car when comparing base model vs base model. Like the costs of shipping the car from Austria to the USA?
  22. Yes, as I have said all along. I am comparing the base no frills model from each manufacturer. Yes but why when they are essentially the same car? Again, i'm going base model vs. base model. Why not? I just did. What about the states in the USA where tax isn't applicable or it has less than the UK VAT rate of 20%?
  23. Buying a base model BMW Z4 in the UK OTR (according to their website) is £37,115 Buying a base model Toyota Supra in the UK (according to their website) is £52,695 Buying a base model BMW Z4 in the USA OTR (according to their website) is $49,700 Buying a base model Toyota Zupr4 in the USA (according to their website) is $49,990 If you convert the price of buying a UK Z4 to buying a USA Z4 there is a £220.85 or $200 difference but if you convert the price of a UK Zupr4 to buying a USA Zupr4 there is a £15,580 or $20,458.43 difference. Ergo it costs you more to buy a UK spec MKV than it does as US spec MKV. It can't be down to tax and shipping, sorry. No way.
