  1. You will find it increasing difficult to find parts as Toyota and most of Japan have closed and stopped production due to the Coronavirus.
  2. Without a doubt. The W.H.O had the power to step in yet decided for political and financial funding reasons that it was best for all concerned to play the PC game and not declare a pandemic. The powers that be have seen this unfold since the early reports way back in December yet failed to act and get what would be needed in place. Now there are mutterings about opening everything back up to protect the economy, it just goes to show the world we live in is more interested in the bottom line of their bank statement. How the other half appear to be dealing with this... https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/11/disease-dodging-worried-wealthy-jet-off-to-disaster-bunkers
  3. The end of the world is nigh and with The Four Horsemen due to make an appearance stage left, leaving us in a post-apocalyptic mad max world where society has collapsed, what are your thoughts? Where is the world headed? Will money cease to exist? Will this be a chance for the powers that be to control the people further using more and more stringent laws to strip us of our rights and privacy? Should China be penalised for lying about the virus, incarcerating the doctors that initially tried bringing this to the worlds attention and then lying about their number of infected and number of dead? Conspiracy theories welcome too but please make them decent. Also if you want to post any facts please make sure they are from a credible source and cross checked as much as possible as there is enough misinformation out there.
  4. To be honest I find it all really easy, I just let my OCD off it's leash and it carries me along for the ride. It's the first time I have felt okay about not being okay The gaff is spotless, always is Bleach and Isopropyl have been my friends for a very long time! It's not just loved ones, it's my neighbours too. People need to box clever with this as our governments and the W.H.O aren't any use to us. Due to them playing various political and financial games they have all been caught with their pants down. As soon as this started spreading into the various Chinese provinces I knew we were in trouble.
  5. Get signed off with stress and anxiety, easy to play on that if the company you work for are pushing you back to work. You need to do what is safe and right for those around you.
  6. VIN plates can only be sourced via Toyota and if your car is a JDM import you are out of luck as Toyota UK won't supply one for a JDM car. I believe there are various nefarious ways to get this done and that there are many companies out there that would offer this service. Can't imagine their print will be the same or the stamped letters and numbers too as they are done the old fashioned way with tools and a hammer. My mind didn't stretch as far a thinking about the extra ££££'s to be made from changing an auto to a six speed, as rider said for the less uninitiated this becomes a new unforeseen pitfall and also dodgy ground as mentioned above.
  7. All his youtube videos seems to have been taken down too. There were a few posts on this build thread that seem to have been deleted. Shame as it looked like the car was finished, up and running. Jazz deserves a break as he had a lot of heartache with that car.
  8. Yep, my partner is immunocompromised so been doing it since the end of February along with wearing FFP3 masks and gloves. I don't use bags for life as they are plastic and hold all kinds of bacteria and this thing seems to live on plastic for the longest time. I have been using the old fashioned string bags from yesteryear and wash them after every visit. I'm doing it for five people so need to be on top of things. Can't be complacent. Bit of bleach on a cloth and wipe everything throughly before it goes into the house. No cardboard into the house either. Everything get unwrapped outside, cleaned and passed over the threshold.
  9. Careful getting them off Mark, they become really brittle and snap/crumble very easily. Are you sorted Kev? I have a pair I bought as spares for my kit from a guy on the Aussie forum a few years ago. I can pop them in the post of you want? Just shoot me your address
  10. You guys write that like there is something wrong with it?
  11. If you want geometry done properly get yourself and your car booked into see Chris Wilson for a bespoke setting. Well worth the time. He sets every car up the traditional way rather than trying to fudge specific settings to fit the car. With the lance settings expect the car to squirm a lot more in the front and as for the "turn in" characteristics
  12. If you want to colour match the OEM paint get yourself and a panel to a bodyshop that has a spectrophotometer.
  13. GTX3582R People look at putting that onto the Supra's, imagine the power to weight ratio on an old mini. Brings a new meaning to flying by the seat of your pants
  14. Save yourself the ball ache and paying through the nose. Just pick up a new set from Toyota. Although supply might be limited at the moment as a lot of Japan has supposedly shut down due the Coronavirus.
  15. Careful using Acetone, it can melt plastic.
  16. Ah he did take my advice! At least that is one less to have to worry about
  17. Have you fitted a 4 pin 30A relay? Take a look here - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/attachment.php?attachmentid=154220&d=1341391583
  18. It is a possibility that fettling of the lip maybe required as the wheel tyre combination may fowl the arch. Chris will be able to tell you if anything had to be done to his dad's car to get those wheels to fit. At least the ET's you have gone with are decent. I can't remember what suspension Mark put on the car or how low it was but I do remember it being on 19"s. Going that wide is always going to be a compromise and as the car is an auto you need to bear that in mind. A 40 profile will allow you to put the power down and provide a nice ride, going to a 35 this will decrease slightly and going to a 30...well I'd look at investing in a new spine and things will feel very hard on the rear. This is because high-performance tyres and low profile means that there is reduced tyre flex and the tyre is not able to absorb road shocks like the high profile tyres. You can always have the car mapped to run boost by gear on the Syvecs to help you get the power down. Syvecs has decent traction control too so that will be another plus as will an OS Giken 1.5 way diff if one wasn't fitted. You might get lucky and find it all comes together but I wouldn't be going into this expecting it to all be problem free. Tyres have the most direct influence on tramlining because they are the part of the vehicle that comes into contact with the road. Unfortunately anything that increases a high performance tyre's responsiveness also increases its willingness to tramline. Tyres with short sidewalls that develop lots of cornering power at lower slip angles are more susceptible to tram lining. But as you have said, making sure the geo is spot on is a must. E2A Kaan's car ran a 35 profile on the 18" rears but a lot wider at 345 - http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=5306
  19. This one is running Mickey Thompson ET Street 2 tyres - 305/45/18. Going with a 40 profile the positive rake won't be as pronounced, I would be surprised if you didn't have to remove the lip.
  20. I would imagine you will need a compatible fuel pump, fuel lines and injectors to run it.
  21. Not sure to be honest guys, quick google search on a phone and that is what came up. So I posted the link. Send them and email to see if they stock the others, can't see them just doing the fronts and not the rears unless these are new to the market and they want to see how they are received by the public.
  22. That is the main problem when going past a 10" rear. You have probably snookered yourself going that wide and wanting a 40 rear profile unless you want to import your tyres? 285 on an 11.5 will be too stretched and a 315 will balloon. Best sizes for a 11.5 rear are either 295 or 305. Were the wheels special order or could they be returned? Did you have your heart set on those widths? E2A For a 305/40/18 look at the Nitto NT 555 R or the Mickey Thompson ET Street but expect eye watering prices per tyre due to the exchange rate.
