  1. Me too but I for one have first hand experience with this company, just see the disputes section. What makes this worse is that shortly after my dispute was opened my pm'ed box came alive:Pling: Unfortunately I didn't have enough evidence to back up my dispute due to being in Jersey and not seeing the car first hand, some you win & some you loose. I guess it's just the attitude that gets to people, lesson learnt tho Lee I'm so sorry to hear about this, and hope you get it sorted soon. I remember chatting with you about this build a while back, maybe a call to BBC Rogue Traders is worth a shot?
  2. Thats what I'd have thought, didn't JamieP have 256's fitted before his pt.2 thread started?
  3. 256, 264, 272 & 280 is the duration of the cam. Duration is the angle in crankshaft degrees that the valve stays off its seat during the lifting cycle of the cam lobe. Increasing duration keeps the valve open longer, and can increase high-rpm power. Wouldn't look at anything over 264 otherwise the engine will become too lumpy
  4. Sorry my mistake. I always thought that NA engines in standard form with a turbo dropped on weren't up to making big power without spending silly amounts of money, so not cost affective. As I said earlier my mistake.
  5. So as I thought, not cost affective and better to get a TT lump in the first place?
  6. Why cant you get them to finish the project and get one of the guys here to collect the car on their flatbed and take it to an 'friendly" MOT tester that won't cost you extra money. Not being funny dude but you have spent sh1t loads on that car surely as the customer it's your choice who does the MOT not theirs?
  7. So you could get say 600bhp out of a turbocharged NA engine?
  8. Could you not just find a "friendly" tester?
  9. TBH I wouldn't touch this engine with a barge pole. IMO you are best off looking for a low mile TT engine to transplant into your NA and work up from there. You are only getting 3 months parts only warranty on this engine, milage is unknown and at the end of the day it's an NA engine so further increase on the BHP is VERY limited.

  11. I think Ellis had one for sale a while ago. They usually sell for £40 if this helps http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=195760&page=15
  12. I'd say Paul's your man. Just a scenario to consider, if you were to sell the to someone in Uk, drive the car over & register it to yourself at the new owners address with the Uk DVLA. Once thats done just give them the log book to change into their name It might not be as easy as that but if it is, it beats taking a hit of 17.5% VAT(£744.86, based on asking price of 5K) and will almost certainly aid your sale. Another option could be to adjust the value of the car on the hand written receipt. Best of luck dude
  13. VAT is applicable on anything being exported from Jersey going to the Uk that is valued at £18 or over as VAT has never been paid on said item. This isn't as good as it sounds before anyone comments However, I was told by the local DVLA a few years ago that if a car is over a certain age then no VAT has to be paid on it going to the Uk providing the owner is leaving Jersey too i.e taking the car with them. They are always changing the goal posts as the Uk government are getting p1ssed off with people openly flaunting this. Best to double check but I'm sure these are ways around this When posting items from Jersey to the Uk if something is sent as a "Returned Item" it passes through Uk customs with out any problems what so ever!
  14. Only if VAT has never been paid on the car
  15. Click BPU and you will get your answer :EDIT: Too slow
