  1. Interesting, is the clue in Teflon or are all braided brake lines made of Teflon?
  2. This any help - https://www.parcelmonkey.co.uk/courier-services/parcelmonkey-international
  3. They are now a forum trader - https://www.mkivsupra.net/topic/246178-trader-application-tcb-performance-parts-ltd/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-3526128
  4. To further confuse matters, I went with CW’s recommendation and replaced the plastic impeller pump with a metal version. Give TCB a shout for the best price and also give https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/toyota,1995,supra,3.0l+l6+turbocharged,1278626,cooling+system,water+pump,2208 a look. They usually have a 5% voucher floating around on the net, their postage can be a little expensive and you have to factor handling charges and import duties et cetera.
  5. I believe hot air is less dense and holds less oxygen than cold air. This means turbos have to work harder, spin faster and compress more air to produce the same amount of boost it would at lower temperatures. Which would help explain why water injection kits work so well.
  6. So air velocity plays no part in lag? A larger area to pressurise will make no difference? A non-ducted FMIC vs ducted SMIC, both new condition, zero difference? With the greatest of respect Mike, unless a turbo and FIMC are properly matched I would have to disagree. Surely a small turbo with a large intercooler will flow at a slower rate due to having to move more air in the system. Could this set up not also have the potential to cause a drop in boost pressure?

    Wills

Our friend would have been so upset and angry at the outcome, this “unbreakable” will cost him a lot of money. I’m just glad he wasn’t here to see it. Money does some very strange things to people, especially when they expect it and don’t get it. Re your millions, your secret is safe with us!
  8. A non ducted FMIC will be worse that the OEM SMIC if condition is comparable. A FMIC will also add lag.
  9. Yes dude, still on the stock turbos. The slight blip on the boost plot is transition between turbo 1 and turbo 2. Pressure is around 1.1 as the OEM wastegate was doing the usual thing of being difficult to control beyond this. Tried to push them to 1.3 then 1.2 but weren’t having any of it. Boost creep saw regular spikes up to 1.5 which as you know would have killed the turbos quicker than anything.

    Wills

Just remember wills can be broken, an example below for you. A family friend passed away a few years ago who had started an Oyster farm. He built it up from the ground over 40 years and turned it in to a multi-million pound business. His son was completely disinherited as he had tried to put his dad out of business. His son asked for his inheritance early to “help him set up a business” but he neglected to be truthful with his dad and say the business was going to be direct competition with his and that he had already tried stealing customers he supplied. Due to this they hadn’t spoken in over 20 years. Long story short, when he died, all the money, property and business were left to the daughter and her children. Nothing to the son. The day of the funeral his son was seeking legal advice rather than burying his dad. Due to the son and the daughters greed, with both sides continually arguing via lawyers they lost out. The lawyers took most of the inheritance and by the time the arguments had been settled, what was left was split 50/50. This was despite his last wishes of wanting to leave his entire estate to his daughter, grandchildren and the will being “watertight & unbreakable”.
  11. If there is nothing wrong with them you could leave them but if original you know their age. I believe Rider had a crack with copper lines, might be worth giving him a shout and see if you can convince him to help with yours.
  12. Pretty much that in a nut shell. Think form over function. It looks nice but isn’t as good as OEM.

    Wills

You can do your own. It just depends if you could foresee anything being contested once you are gone. Even expensive wills can be broken with enough money.
  14. I would imagine the loss of hard lines could cause less pressure. Braided still expands.

  16. Nature of the beast when selling overseas unfortunately. People are going to be asking a lot of questions re export and import so best have your answers ready or at least be prepared to help investigate for your buyer if they need it. Your car is a blast to the past, bygone days. Nice to see something different up for sale, I forget they could look like this at times. GLWYS PS Any YouTube videos of her being used in anger?
  17. Wow! That is going to be loud. Is that what you want?
  18. I wouldn’t worry about a 4” system then, they are really loud especially if you don’t have any resonators fitted. A 3.5” or 88.90mm (to be precise) would be a lot more agreeable. What are you doing with the screamer pipe? Open or plumbing it back in to the exhaust?
  19. So about 860 ish at the crank. People were running 800hp through 3” exhausts around 10 years ago if not longer. The exhaust wheel on your turbo under 3” too. What is your plan for the car? Straight line 1/4 top speed runs or nice weekend blast with occasional track and 1/4 mile?
  20. What power level are you aiming for? Is this going to be a straight through system?

    Curry

Apologies Dunk, I should have been more clear. I make everything from scratch and have a base already made up to cut down on prep time. I do this when cooking Indian and I have tried the same with Thai, specifically a Yellow and Red but find this really changes the flavour. It’s becomes deeper which is nice but it is not as fresh tasting. I wondered if you found the same or if you knew of any cheats to keep the freshness, other than starting from scratch each time.

    Curry

Looks lovely! When cooking Thai do you start from scratch each time or do you use a pre-made base/paste to get you going quicker? Similar to the Indian.
