  1. jeez that looks nice, shame i don't have the cash, if you end up keeping it and think again in six months give me a shout directly
  2. congratulations on the new car mate, hope you look after her I've been in the white one and it feels good on the road.
  3. sold and now i have a really bad hangover after drinking way to much to forget about it
  4. Hey, I was out for a drive today and I have a noise coming from the front, sounds a bit like a fan belt, but higher pitch and slightly different, does not seem to be related to the engine though as revving in neutral doesn't effect it & it doesn't happen when stationary. It's also only at lowish speeds and stops if you apply the brakes slightly. Could this be a brake pad sticking on or something like that? Anyone have a similar experience, I was hoping to sell the car this weekend, so hoping to find out what this is and make sure it's nothing serious.
  5. club trip to Japan? I'm in Anyone ever seen tokyo drift - the bit in the car park with all the cars and hot girls.. I sort of hope it's really like that. there are some pretty funny (a bit strange) stuff on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3JDGeQxwwg&feature=related
  6. to late http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=120265461301&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=002
  7. I would imagine this could be pretty attractive for a trader to run the club supra, with members donating parts and time, web votes used to make key decisions, but I think since the trader has a big stake in it drivers would have to be limited to make sure it was looked after :O we could have a second more standard club supra for members to rag around the track on events - what about that £2.8k messy one on ebay right now
  8. Honestly - owning a supra has nothing to do with my trash talk posts
  9. I may have linked this on barryboys to see if anyone agrees with me
  10. I was thinking about getting a spraying kit at one point too, i had a friend who used to do a lot of classic car work & side jobs in his garage at his house, but to be honest without a clean room - best case scenario your paintwork my look ok from afar, but will be full of grit and other particles, worst case as happened to me when re-spraying a front wing for one of my cars a great big huge fly will decide to land on it as it's drying!
  11. might want to re-size pictures a bit, it takes a while even on broadband for them to download.
  12. yeah - i thought i recognised that from a book on marine engineering a friend had (who shared some classes with me at uni), I found a web page on them while i was checking up in case anyone is interested hehe http://www.wis.co.uk/justin/deltic-engine.html
  13. haha.... watch the video a bunch of pretty nondescript cars driving at speeds similar to those out at the supermarket picking up groceries. there is a lambo though, but seems to be going slow too. couple of good comments in the video though.. e.g. 'this one has a 0.7 litre engine as standard.. like a lawnmower, but now it is 1.2 so should do 0-60 in under ten seconds' (i think this guy misunderstood what a 10 sec car is).
  14. I know i haven't confirmed and have just jumped onto this thread, but I would highly recommend Val Thorens from past experience, even if it means you get slightly worse accomodation or pay a little more. Les deux Alps - I never liked, it felt small & you need to get right up top to get any decent runs. The others highlighted I haven't been too. I personally like going to the big multiple valley resorts, if you get the full pass you can make some nice day trips right across the resort, with that in mind Val Thorens, Courchevel, Meribel would be good for les 3 valleys - I think Meribel should be cheapest (Courchevel is where all the Russians stay and is pricey), Val Thorens I didn't stay in, but have boarded in the area. The other big one is Paradiski- Les Arcs, La Plagne, Vallendry - I stayed in La Plagne for a week once, but to be honest that resort seems to have a shit load of traversing and it's a bit of a pain on a snowboard I would be wary of smaller less well known resorts, you can arrive to find the piste area is very small & in case conditions are not good you want to find somewhere that has a good mix of high & low areas facing different directions. The other place I love to go is just to hit Chamonix, you can pretty easily do this w/out paying through the nose for a package, book some low cost flights to geneva, book a chalet / apartment for the week, get a couple of hire cars and tour around the different piste areas - Chamonix has some very nice easily accessible off piste too.
