Well I'm still not sure...even if it doesnt really affect it I think it would look like there is something missing so my sprayer has been told to spray it hehe The unveiling of the new colour will be soon

The car is in the spray shop at the moment absolutely stripped so pictures would not help haha!! It has a wide arch kit so I'm thinking it would look a bit wierd without a spoiler...

Ok guys I need you to settle an argument..!! My husband wants to take the spoiler off while it's in the bodyshop having a respray, but I don't think it's a good idea...it must be there for a reason so I think we'll kill ourselves lol Can anyone who has taken it off advise how much (or if not?) it changes the car? I'm getting rid of a 1996 VW Golf that needs a bit of tlc. It would be perfect for anyone looking for parts/modifications for their own car. It is a 1.8 driver. The engine has an oil leak from somewhere and has a tendancy to stall when changing down gears but does restart itself straight away! the gear box works but is sometimes a bit sticky going in to second. It has 17" alloys with fairly good tyres on them. I have been told it has a few good modifications but I have no knowledge of golfs at all so these maybe good to someone. All the problems maybe really easy to fix but we have been offered another vehicle so it is easier for us to get rid instead of fixing! It has an MOT until March 2012 but the tax is up at the end of the month. It could be taxed and driven though so could be a good little car if someone has the time/money/patience to fix it. Evening all, Well as they all do after time our headlights look a state and all cloudy and have been polished to death! Does any one have any glass ones for sale or know if there is still anyone on here that I can send ours to and get them sorted? It is having a full respray in kandy next month so I don't want the headlights to let it down Thanks dudes

I'm really not being too kind Gareth, this car has been going to our local garages for services and mot's and all that for years and not once have they ever told us it was a; dangerous b; not running right To have you guys tell us straight away what's wrong and be able to fix it is just brilliant...other garages just have no idea about them, or even usually what they are!! When we asked the mechanic who does the mot's why it feelt so wobbly he said these cars were just like that...seriously you guys are worth your weight in gold when we own this car

Haha yes they are definately cardiff's own batman and Robin... The car was a bit of a state...the subframe was mangled from a previous accident, the turbo's weren't boosting hardly at all, loads of electrics needed doing, the brakes were shot...just a few of the things they have done for us!! I can't speak highly enough of them in my eyes their complete genius's

Just want to say the worlds biggest thank you to Craig and Gareth for all the stuff you have done for us over the last two weeks Drove home in absolute amazement at how different it all feels! You guys really do not realise how much we appreciate it...you have restored our love for the car when we were on the verge of selling it...now can't wait to spend the summer out and about in it Once again massive massive thanks...also to Keron for the fantastic deal on parts and anyone else who sent parts/advise... I don't know how many people on here have reptiles but just in case anyone is interested, I am now making custom vivs to order Practically anything you want can be made in to a viv so tell me what you want and we'll see what we can do! Wow you guys are so nice , thank you so much!! Where in Cardiff do you hang out? We've had a couple if problems with it since we've had it back on the road, the speedo is not working and the o/drive light randomly flashes for no apparent reason!! Neither me or my husband are any good at all with cars and people in garages seem to know this and scare us to death that the whole thing is going to self distruct and it'll cost a million pound to fix lol it's not really a very good car for us to own really but it's just so pretty lol

It's definately not the wheel nuts they are all find so we can rule that one out...I'm just going to get it to a garage and ask them to have a look, it's all so complicated lol Don't suppose anyone can recommend a good garage around Bristol/Gloucester/Cheltenham/Cardiff way? Itsso difficult to find one that doesn't do a sharp intake of breath when they know it's an import lol

Hello! I have a very loud banging noise coming from somewhere on the back of the car. It started only as the car went round a corner to the right but is now starting to do it going straight as well, however not constant! You can feel in when it does it on the floor of the car as I'm sat in it but doesn't affect the steering at all. We have put it on a ramp and checked all four tyres and wheel bearings, the nsr has a tiny (and I mean millimetres) bit of play in it so we can change that but is that was is causing the loud banging?! It is not the exhaust which was solid as a rock... I've been told it could be cv joints?! Is this likely?! I have no idea what these are so any info would be awesome!! The car has 140km on the clock and is used every day so by no means a 'show' car! It has been off the road for a year having bodywork done so wandering if something has seized up while it's been sat for a year Has anyone come across this before? Any suggestions very gratefully received!!

One of my other arguments was that in a car like the supra, in a crash, it would be extremely difficult to get a child out of the back, and would probably end up having the roof cut off, where as in the front, even in a fairly heavy front end smash it would be a million times easier to get a child out...the guy at work did not think this was true either and said I was just being lazy because I didn't want to get him out of the back all the time...

Ooh I was hoping there was a copper around lol Do you mean that the child has to be over 14 or 4'10" to be without a proper child seat in the front? So my son in a forward facing child seat is alright in the front if i chose him to be?

Okay, I'm still confused (feel free to call me a dumb ass lol) but it says the law does allow a child to be in the front with the exception of forward facing seats although it is safer for them to be in the rear seats... does that mean it is not illegal for them to be in the front just a matter of preference?

yeah it really is a perfect ft in the back seats...it doesn't wobble or rub on anything so I think it would probably be safe...worth asking though...it took us months to find a seat that did fit in there properly (I'm too stubborn to buy a 'family' car lol) and it was brand new out at the time so I presume recaro cottoned on that the new laws had to have kids in the back of sports cars and cashed in on it lol

there isn't an airbag at all in the front so it's not just disabled...

The recaro seats fit perfectly in the bucket in the back seat so Oscar could easily sit in the back but when it is just me and him I put him in the front with me...when I have my 2 children with me they both sit in the back in seats but I never thought it was against the law for them in the front...

yeah full size seat...he's 14 months so it's a recaro full seat...

Ok, Me and a guy from work are having a row I need someone with knowledge to settle it...he is saying that it is now illegal to have a child seat on the front seat of a car...now I've always had my son on the front seat of the supra because it has no air bag on the passanger side...plus I've been stopped many times by the police (huge problem with modified cars and poilce in my area, great pleasure in saying they have never so much as given me a warning, haha) and they have never said he needs to sit in the back, so... Is he for of bull or am I breaking the law?
