  1. haha...yes all of that 90bhp will SURELY get us somewhere, slowly but surely. It will be helpful but I'm not sure if you want to stay on at Simon's whilst we both debate about colour and test fitting the kit and going over some paperwork if he wants to.. he told me to come by in the morning anytime (since I'm driving down from Aberdeen) and he'll spare me an hour. So if you can spare a moment, then I'll be grateful for the lift.
  2. I guess I just wanted options thats all. Doesnt mean that I'll follow to suit people's suggestions.. but hey, many advisors make victory sure! I think I've come to a conclusion in my head (not the paint) but a paint colour that is not too much in your face, but rather gives it a subtle aggressive yet classy look since the JDL kit gives that sort of effect compared to a veilside/do luck etc... I simply need the paint to match. I'm going to get rid of my spoiler too. so if anybody wants it, I'll sell it very cheaply as I don't think people will buy it anyway..(it came with the car) and its quite heavy, the gas struts can't support it.
  3. Hey George, thats right. just bought the JDL kit yesterday and it scheduled to arrive at Simon's on the 4th june. ready for our meeting on Sat 6th june. I would certainly recommend anyone to Simon's. Haven't met him in person as yet but he certainly makes time for his customers over the telephone as he is always busy!
  4. hi, I've also recently purchased an XS power exhaust and its really loud! I would be interested to know if anybody can find a silencer to tone it down. otherwise, its still turning heads!
  5. hey keith, got a recommendation from a club member on here to use a garage down in Ayrshire where his car is getting fixed as well. very reasonable price and also reputable in doing supras. he's done a couple of show cars for mags as well. still thinking about the paint tbh...I'm buying the JDL kit tomorrow!
  6. Hey Guigsy, please do! Look forward to it! I'm getting my car into the garage next sat. Thanks!

    Exhaust

totally agree! just had the XS power full exhaust not long ago and loving it... nice deep growl at idle and roar at full throttle!
  8. Hey guys, was wondering if anyone has got their favourite colour for a respray..I'll be sending her to a reputable bodyshop to have the JDL kit fitted plus a full respray in the next 2 weeks.. I'm trying to brainstorm on the right type of paint for this kit..can anyone help? or perhaps direct me to a uk website that shows the type of paint available? assume the following, clear headlights, indicators, side repeators and spoilerless... not sure about the wheels yet. Thanks for the help in advance!
  9. Hey, I was looking to actually get rid of those wheels altogether, it came with the car when I bought it. a set of 19s Zenetti wheels. not sure if anybody would want them. to answer your question..no, but there are places who will blast those chrome off i'm sure...
  10. Keith, really sorry haven't been able to check back on this forum but I'll have to make a pass on this one. Although I have my supra with me, I'm just kinda embarrass to bring it at the moment. Small dent on front bumper, cracks on rear spoiler and chrome wheels are peeling off. Car is going to a garage week after for full bodykit and respray (found one reliable thankfully!). might be best to meet up then. Sorry for any inconvenience.
  11. hey guys, thanks for all your comments.. clearly there's a mixed reaction and I agree with tricky ricky..individuality counts doesn't it? what about this supra?
  12. hey guys, just thought I'd ask the question about putting on some custom graphics/decals on a supra...doesn't have to be branded logos maybe some anime/tribal/flame graphics...thought the 3rd and most recent F&F movie showed some pretty good graphics on cars... any comments?
  13. My car came with 19's and i noticed the sliding from side to side sometimes at roundabouts and it can be quite scary..but for looks, you don't need to lower the car at all since it fills the gap between the arches. Will you need to lower your car if you drop to 18s?
  14. Hi people, thought I would resurrect this similar thread and ask if there are any Scottish events/car shows/meets during August 2009 and for the months ahead?
  15. Thank you yes that is a good point to note. Although aesthetically it will look nicer blended but I take your point.
  16. Ok guys. lets try to keep our topics objective to the subject and not off tangent please. But thanks to all who have contributed so far. A number of bodyshops so far but would like to see more. so please continue but keep away from other sub topics which may arise. Thanks!
  17. Hey guys, Was wondering if all of us who resides in Scotland can start to populate this thread with their recommended bodyshops/sprayers under this section of the forum rather than having the scattered-gun approach. I am in need of a good bodyshop/sprayer to fit a full kit plus respray on my car. prefer not to go down south if possible, much rather travel anywhere in scotland. What does everyone think about this? good idea?
  18. Hey guys, Was wondering if anybody can help me on this. Like to get a few folks who's been through a good bodyshop that had fitted JDL kit plus a full respray on a supe recently? I like to know how much did it cost you in total? Did you face any problems at all fitting this kit? I was adviced against blending this kit onto the existing body of the supe. Is this true? Thanks for the help in advance.
  19. Thought I would ask if this supe is a member on this forum...L700 DEE, saw this in Aberdeen. look very nice.
  20. JDL anyone? maybe not in silver but in a different colour altogether, I'm thinking deep bronze pearl...
  21. I think the JDL front bumper looks good, possibly with the whole kit fitted. agree?
  22. Kewl. Do you know if he's a member of this forum? Would be good to see some pics of his car.
  23. Yes I agree given the number of parts supplied with this kit. I can't afford to have the whole car resprayed as well as buying and fitting this kit right now so I thought i'd have the car fitted in the current unflattering silver till I've got enough cash! or I could just be patient (yet again...) and do everything in one hit! that could be months! saving up for a holiday somewhere in the Far East as well!!! this is perhaps the last 2 items before I say to myself: thats it! no more mods for a long time!!
  24. Hi folks, think I have made my decision and I'll be going for the full JDL kit. But I'm just not sure if this kit will look good in standard stock silver. Has anybody seen this kit on a silver supra? will be great to see some pics if possible. Thanks for your help!
