  1. "but no, we were on a duel carrageway and we may be cold or lost or mugged. (he actually had a point there, my luck isnt the best)" lol I sleep with my keys under my pillow and this story tells me that I'm right.
  2. Check that the pipe to the expansion tank isn't being restricted.
  3. I was in a pub in town watching this earlier. There were a load of Germans watching it upstairs and there were a good few English watching it downstairs where I was. At the end the Germans came out through the pub singing and cheering. Some posh English bloke who was totally wasted picked up a bottle of ketchup and fired it at them. He totally missed the Germans and it smashed off the wall beside some other English couple. The fella it nearly hit got up and floored the stupid drunken posh bloke. The whole pub started cheering, definitely the highlight of the tournament so far.
  4. Go for it, I think they're class.
  5. Can you use a meter to check the resistance between the wire you pushed back it and its contact on the plug?
  6. I've never checked the setup in the Supra but alt charge lights usually work by measuring the potential difference between the battery and the alternator output. Once the alternator starts to fail and the voltage generated drops the light should come on. Is the bulb for it working? If so it sounds like there's a problem with the ECU or something similar.
  7. You should probably post pics first so the lads know what they're letting themselves in for.
  8. I posted an enquiry in their parts thread and it was ignored so...
  9. There is, I used it to paint my calipers but I wouldn't recommend it. It came in an aerosol. When painting I didn't want to be too loud but I went too far in the other direction. I'll probably be repainting them gloss black over the weekend. So there ya go OP, gloss is the answer.
  10. Looks great mate, I'd love to have the skill to try something like that.
  11. Yeah, I'm interested to see how it works on his 400BHP setup. Wonder what sort of 1/4 times you could get?
  12. There's not a chance in hell I'd take my car within 50 miles of one of those music festivals. Took a car to the Fleadh in Listowel one year, lesson learnt.
  13. Thanks a million Rich for taking the time to post such a detailed answer, not to mention the photos. Now all I've got to do is track down a Bosch lamda sensor for the jSpec and I'm laughing.
  14. I don't have a picture, Rich8v said he'd post one though.
  15. Yeah, I'm going to order a new pump, they're relatively cheap. I'm using a restrictor ring I got off Chris Wilson, it's been working fine since I fitted it a year ago. I'd be looking at getting a boost controller right enough, what one do you have? I don't know if there'd be much benefit in me getting a ecu upgrade. Do you think it would make much performance gains on my limited mods?
  16. No, met him once and he kept going on about granny shifting and double clutching. I didn't have a clue what he was on about. Good advice. Looks like I only have to buy a new fuel pump and a set of plugs. No point buying and fitting a load of parts unnecessarily. I'll fit the S-AFC seeing as I have it here. Can it realisitally be of much use when dealing with a BPU setup?
  17. Good advice lads. Think I'll go get a Walbro and forget about the 550cc injectors. I must upgrade the plugs too, NGK BCPR7ES are recommended.
  18. Cheers mate, I'll take a look. Would there be no benefit in fitting 550s? I thought the 440s would struggle on higher boost, even with the stock turbos. If I don't chance the injectors then there's hardly much point fitting a Walbro fuel pump is there?
  19. Hi all. I'm going to have a go at getting the car up to BPU. Some of the work's done already but there is a bit left to do. I'll post my intentions so hopefully people can tell me if I'm going wrong anywhere or have misunderstood something. I'm going to try to do as much of the work myself as possible. The car's jSpec BTW and I've got 400BHP as a target, I'm not sure how realistic this is? The car's fully decatted and has a NUR-spec exhaust, I've fitted a 1.2 bar restrictor ring. I had Hybrids but they failed, I've now got standard ceramic jSpecs. From what I've read there doesn't seem to be much advantage in using Hybrids so I'll stick with the decent jSpecs which I've got. I've already got a HKS FMIC installed. I'm going to fit 550cc injectors. I've got an Apexi S-AFC I'm going to fit it myself and was thinking I'd get it set up professionally after I fit the bigger injectors. I think I'll fit a Walbro fuel pump as well. I'm not sure if there's a Fuel Cut Defender fitted. I think the previous owner said there was one fitted but I'm not 100%. Where would it have been installed? That's it really, let me know if I'm overlooking anything. All going well, I'll get the work done, get the AF setup and then get in dynoed by an independent 3rd party.
  20. Can anyone help with this. I'm having a lot of trouble sourcing this, does anyone know the part number for the jspec part? I'm also after a Bosch lambda for a jspec. I've searched around but can't find a part number or a site to order one from. -Cheers.
  21. Looks great. Looks awful low on the front for our roads
  22. I think they look great. The 5th one with the engine semi-visible is brilliant.
  23. All I'll say is don't get a cheap one. Had it in a few weeks and the delimiter stopped working, though it still converts. I'm going to buy this one from Thor Racing. It's not cheap but it's highly recommended on this site and I wish I'd bought it in the first place.
