I was driving along, temp gauge was normal.
Started to feel excessive heat coming in from engine so I pulled it.
Just as I pulled in the engine died and the engien warning light came on and the temp gauge went up full.
Opened the bonnet. a pipe from the radiator had come off so
I'd been driving the car for about 10 miles with no water.
The heat off the engine was incredible and the smell wasn't pretty.
Waited for the engine to cool down and filled the radiator with water.
Tried starting the engine, no chance.
The starter motor turns over fine but there's not the slightest kick out of the engine.
I'm hoping to take off the head and have a look but I don't really know what signs of damage to look for.
Please help.
What should I look for?
Are there any tests I can perform to try to see what damage I've done.
Like I said the heat coming off the engine was really hot when I stopped.
What's the worst case scenario here?
Any help would really be appreciated.
