  1. You do the maths. I just did. Assuming 83.9p to a gallon of Optimax (You shouldn't be using anything less!) your 300miles on £50 works out to 22.8mpg (59.59 litres or 13.126 imperial gallons) And if you DO happen to be using 'Tescos value fuel' at 78.9p per gallon, you're only shading 21.5mpg. (63.37 litres or 13.95 gallons) Sorry to shatter your illusions!
  2. Haven't we been through all of this before???? About a month or two back there were pics of this car at Detroit or somewhere similar. All the same questions were going around then.
  3. Sorry, Rosie, but I wouldn't let my dentist come near me if he's just been sampling the anaesthetic!!

    auto or 6 speed

Ermmm.....how difficult is it to lift off the throttle??? Mine goes 'PPSSSHHH' every time I do so.
  5. I can concur with what Alex said. It's what they call a 'Contract Repair' and you should use this term when negotiating with the insurers. It can take a bit of pushing to get it sorted but it will be a better idea than buying it back after they write it off. Insuring a J-Spec can be bad enough at the best of times, but have you ever tried getting a quote for insuring a written off J-Spec? Believe me, you should look into this before making a decision to let them write it off with a view of getting it back on the road. I had to let my baby go a year and a half ago because it got written off. but it all worked out better in the end. Heartbreaking to have to do, but it just wasn't worth getting it repaired after being written off. Glad you're still ok to tell us about it though. That's the main thing.
  6. Yeah, I know, I'm a pedant! Just the one glove box. The passenger airbag replaces the top one.
  7. Mine is a '95 GZ TT Aerotop and therefore is only 10 years old.(Obviously PRE-Facelift) WITH a passenger airbag. (Probably an option IanC, before you pick me up on the original question) Still drives great, looks great, Starts every morning (You know who you are ) and turns so many heads, especially in the summer when the roof is off you wouldn't believe it! I have a hard top and an Aerotop in the driveway, both TT's, both Autos. I paid over £3k in paint last year just to tidy things up a bit and a fair amount rebuilding my wheels and a few other bits and pieces. With that sort of outlay I could have bought whichever model of Supra I wanted. Well, just so as the chap who originally asked the question doesn't get TOO put off by the age thing, I wouldn't swap my aerotop for the latest top of the range most recent model of Supra if given the choice! It's a very different beast. I'm not quite so into the whole speed thing anymore, I just enjoy driving the car so much more, but it can still go pretty fast if I want it to. It's a personal thing I suppose. I love my aerotop! (I like being where I want to be with cars!!)
  8. How appropriate is that??!!

    Chavtastic

We liked your version better, Si!
  10. Looking at the cake I think it was a scratch after all!!!! happy birthday dude!!! Best that no-one tries to 'phone Rosie when she's doing the ironing!! (Cake looks yummy, I was only joking Rosie!)

    Greddy e-Manage

If it's just for the E-Manage unit on its' own, then it's not that cheap. It can be bought new for around that price including postage. Most prices you seem to be talking about here would include the Support Tool, injector harness, ignition harness, pressure sensor and sensor harness and maybe the Profec E-01 too. But the unit on its' own is not that expensive. I'll be getting mine for $295 + shipping. I won't be buying the Profec thing though.
  12. Funnily enough, Angie and I just test drove one last week. Very refined, comfortable and pretty quick. It was a black 2.0 93 Aero Turbo. Angie too just wonders about the image though. (This will be a work car though, not replacing the Supra with something like this!)
  13. Thanks for that Faye. We're stil having flurries of it here. Nothing heavy, but it ain't warming up much! Just didn't want her to get too far if she was going to have to turn back anyway.
  14. Angie has just left Norwich and is heading off to the Girleez meet which is just off junction 29 of the M25. (South Essex direction) She'll be travelling via Newmarket, then M11 past Stansted and M25 East to J29. There's some snow here but not loads of it. However, having just read Matt Harwoods post re the weather around Kent at the moment, I thought I'd just check out with you guys how the weather is looking along her route. She's capable enough but doesn't enjoy driving in the snow, especially in the Supe. So if it looks pretty bad, I'll car her to see what she thinks. Thanks in advance guys and girls!

    Why?

Probably been posted before, but here you go anyway.... Why? Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are flat? Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there is not enough money there? Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle? Why do they use sterilized needles for death by lethal injection? Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard? Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks if you throw a revolver at him? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Whose idea was it to put an "S" in the word "lisp"? What is the speed of darkness? Are there especially reserved parking spaces for 'Non-Disabled' people at the Paralympics? If you send someone 'Styrofoam', how do you pack it? If the temperature is zero outside today and it's going to be twice as cold tomorrow, how cold will it be? If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes? If it's true that we are here to help others, what are the others doing here? Do married people live longer than single ones or does it only seem longer? If someone with a split personality threatens to commit suicide, is it a hostage situation? Can you cry under water? What level of importance must a person have attained before being considered to have been assassinated instead of just murdered? If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches? Why does a round pizza come in a square box? How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on bigger suitcases? Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up every two hours? If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing? Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money into binoculars to look at things on the ground?
  16. Wasn't the warranty underwritten by an insurance company then? 2K is ridiculous for any warranty, you could do alot of work for that money anyway!
  17. Being a GT addict, I signed up and started downloading vids. The lap of le Mans (La Sarthe) in the Bentley Speed 8 is absolutely spot on! Also the intro movie from the Japanese version is cool. The Supe still appears about 3 or 4 times in the GT intros. Gotta love it! Only a couple of weeks to go now!
  18. You won't be listening to her again will you!!! Watch the lights...watch the lights.....
  19. ok then, This is Angie AND her car!
  20. Have a good 'un!! Hope you like your pressies.
  21. And I've still got one in the garage....
  22. Agreed. That would buy you an N/A, but not necessarily a good one.
