  1. You could try contacting RoSPA? http://www.rospa.org.uk/
  2. It's ok for a car that's doing over 150mph! I was pleased with it. The lens with the image Stability systemwasabout £360. You can get one without the IS system on it for about £160. I tried one for a month, but changed it for the IS model. The optics of the lens seems better quality in the IS lenses. HTH.
  3. I bought a 350D about 3 months ago. To be honest, I came down to a similar choice, Nikon D70 or 350D. In the end, there wasn't much to choose between them. Have you handled both of them yet? That can be important if you can't decide on the technical features of the two. I couldn't believe how much smaller and lighter the canon was. And as I was going to have it slung around my neck for a few hours at a time at Le Mans in June, that alone made my mind up. I also bought a 70-300 zoom lens with image stability. You can get bonkers pics at distance! Look at these: (Resolution reduced to be able to post them, but you'll get the idea!)
  4. That's quite true. Last year, we took all those pics in the Alps and in Monte Carlo in the last week of September/1st week in October specifically for the calendar, but when we got back we were too late and missed out. Voting had started at that point and it would have been unfair to ask people to vote again having already placed their votes. So we had to wait to submit some for this years calendar. I guess there has to be a line drawn. If you're one side of it, you wait until next year. If you're the other, you have a chance of getting in there.
  5. Yup. Apparently insurance companies rate it second behind the oil rig divers. The risks of these three jobs (courier/diver/bomb disposal) are huge, but couriers have the highest death and injury rates. Mainly because the other two have lots of professional training involved. To be a courier, you just need a licence. I was a motorcycle courier for over 3 years. Did almost 100,000 miles a year in all sorts of conditions, seasons and times of day etc. A few times I'd go to London 4 times in the same working day! (From Norwich) And people wonder why I won't ride a bike on the road anymore? I tell you, I've seen most things on the roads, and I got away with alot of very dodgy manoeuvres to get myself out of trouble at times. I think I've probably used up most of my allocation of luck! (Although I did keep a clean licence and in the 3 accidents I had was never badly injured) I'll get a bike for track days at some point though!!
  6. The rear overfenders would need redesigning to be legal in this countryas they don't cover enough of the wheels. S'pose they could use a nice set of Halfrauds mud-flaps!!
  7. They still make the Saleen S7, Alex. And it's quicker than a Mosler too!
  8. These race in ALMS. Saw an engine and 'box from a racing Mosler at a company local to me last year. They were building the headers for 20 of them and then shipping them back to the States. Apparently the straight-cut racing gearbox gives 110dB!! Monster.
  9. Write 'Sketchers' along the side of it and it'll look like a shoe!! :thumbdown

    elp !

I think Ian meant the bit after the ':' in his post IS what he's figured out about women over the years!!
  11. My username was simply my name for about the first 2 1/2 years on here. Then Angies mum gave me a birthday card with the dog (now my avatar) on it. I suppose it just came to me and I couldn't believe nobody had already used it. I once thought about calling myself Asian Dude. But that's another story.....those who know me will know why!!!
  12. or forgotten where you are? Click Sorry if it's a repost.
  13. Tell him the insurance company are under contract to 'indemnify' you following this damage. That means they have to put you in the same position you were in before the damage occurred. Therefore by definition, this can't be the end of the story. We can show them some other bumpers that have been done properly if you like! We're not too far away. Invite him to one of our meets!!!
  14. The guy in the second photo with his hand on the door reminds me of Bruce Grobbelar at that penalty shoot out a few years ago!!
  15. Ermm....am I missing something? Just tilt the seat in the way RedM says above.
  16. Did the Monte Carlo trip last year. Wouldn't like to do it if I only had one week to do it in though! You'll spend alot of your time just driving. We clocked up about 1250 miles each way just in France. I think our total mileage including getting to Dover was closer to 3000. We racked up a fuel spend in excess of £600! The Supe gets sooo much attention even in Monte Carlo where Lambos and Ferraris are commonplace. The Alps were my personal favourite, though. I'll be going back there again next year if I can make it.
  17. Wheatus - Hump 'em N' Dump 'em. Urge Overkill - Dump Dump Dump.
  18. Nope. Never parked in them and hope I never will.
  19. Borrowed one for two weeks off a mate. Couldn't live with having to rev the nuts off it to make it feel like it was picking up speed at all! And the noise! Can understand people liking them on a testdrive, but to live with it day after day....no chance. Not to mention that when you drive an S2000, you just blend in with the rest of the crowd in their RX8's, MX5's, Z3's/4's, Audi TT's etc. etc. We hardly got a look, unlike when you're driving a Supra. For a "posers' car", it really ain't much good for posing in!!!
  20. For those who want to see this race, it's on tomorrow, Friday from 2pm until 5pm onMotors TV, Ch 413 on Sky.
  21. Reeves Callaway built that just to prove that you didn't need something pushing a million RPM and weighing 2 ounces to go that fast!
  22. I find the autoglym synthetic chamois to be the best chamois I've ever used. Been using these for about 15 years now and haven't found anything to be better yet. A mate of mine is a chauffeur and they use the Autoglym plastic/rubber blade thing to get the bulk of the water off, but he has said that they've put some scratches on the cars when they've picked up a bit of grit. But then that would happen whatever you use I suppose.
