  1. Yep, got that right Digsy. Especially so if she drives a Supe!
  2. Was round a mates house at the weekend. He runs a picture framing business and once in a while he gets unusual objects to put in deep frames for people to hang on their walls. Anyway, on Sunday, he digs out this brake disc that has to be framed. Not just any old brake disc, mind. This is a carbon fibre brake disc off a Toyota F1 car and is signed by Schumacher and Trulli. Nice thing to have on your wall! I'll be photographing it this weekend before it goes in a frame, so I'll post some pics. Amazing thing to look closely at. It'll be going on Ebay to raise money for charity once it's been framed. If anyone is interested, I'll let you know when it's going up for auction.
  3. I always thought I had a good face for radio, myself. And yes, you do know what's coming next, but I have to wait until I get home from work to post that!
  4. Enjoy it mate. Looks great! Don't listen to this lot, you do your thing and be proud of your motor.
  5. Saw something similar in France this year at a restaurant. This was apparently an adult version. Bloke looks familiar, anyone know him???
  6. You're a sick puppy. :vomit:
  7. I read your post, Jake. He's got 17's fitted not 18's. Stock fitment (255/40/17) have an overall diameter of 636mm. Dastons new tyres are 255/45/17, giving an overall diameter of 661mm. This represents a difference in overall diameter of about 4%. You shouldn't really exceed 2.5% difference from stock anyway, but to do it on separate axels is probably a worse idea. May not actually come to any harm, but I'd ask if they'll take the tyre back as he'll be buying the rest of them in the future.
  8. Not sure the effect this might have on the stock traction control? The rear wheels won't be turning at the same RPM as the front if you put the correct tyres on the front. The difference won't be that great but it will be different.
  9. Going sweet, Ian! Still having fun.
  10. Yep, seriously! Top Speed Challenge at RAF Woodbridge a couple of years ago. I have it in a copy of Jap Performance somewhere......
  11. If you are on the drag strip, you're going to be putting your car under alot of stress anyway. Power braking will heat up the trans fluid, but so long as you let it cool off between runs, you shouldn't have any probs. How long you been driving Supes for Mikey? Had many of them to see what they can take? All of mine have run just fine and I power brake every run on the strip. My 1st Supe ran a 12.87sec 1/4 @115mph with nothing but a full decat. I reckon 2000rpm is about as far as the stock converter will go before the wheels start to spin though. None of the 4 autos I've had would let it go any further. Power brake away. Just don't hold it on the line for too long and let it cool down afterwards. Yes it puts extra strain on the TC, but then dragging puts alot of strain on everything - you're running flat out from stationary to 115mph ish. At least the TC is likely to break before the box! The auto box is surprisingly strong.
  12. I do worry about you sometimes, Digsy! Mind you, I do remember that music when it was in the charts! 'Magic' by Pilot, 1974 I believe?
  13. If it doesn;t work, mate, give me a shout as I have a pair of driveshafts from a Jap TT in my garage.
  14. Magnolia valve-spring compressor. Orange Screwdriver really. So I'm the same as Digsy and Chilli. Does that make us common among this 2%??
  15. This morning about 9.45 just coming into Bowness from Windermere, Silver J-Spec, 'P'-Reg (I think) I flashed the lights and we waved to each other. Anyone here???
  16. Great to see everyone yesterday and put faces to the names. It's a real shame we can't get over more regularly to these meets, but you're all welcome to attend any of our meets wen you're over on the mainland. Great day out and a fantastic bunch of people. Great to see you all. Thanks for making Angie and myself so welcome. Take it easy and we'll see you again soon. I'll post pics after I get back home on Thursday.
  17. Last Saturday Angie and meself drove all the way from Norwich to Stranraer in Scotland without seeing a single Supra anywhere on the way. In fact, the first one we saw was in Northern Ireland on Wednesday. Meantime we've seen loads of Porsches, a couple of Aston DB9's, the odd Ferrari etc. etc. Hopefully we'll sort out this deficit of Supes on Sunday at the Belfast meet. (See gatherings/Events if you're interested in coming!) So who was it said a while ago that the Supra was becoming a common car?
  18. I'm assuming it's the Chief (above) that's doing the organising. So then.....anyone else?? Sinbad, you about?
  19. Excellent!! We're over from across the water at the moment, so we can gatecrash this one if that's ok? Come on then, who else is coming?
  20. On the M1 near Portadown heading towards Belfast. About 11.45 am I was heading the other way in a black J-Spec but I don't think you saw me. First Supe seen since we left Norwich last Saturday!

  22. Yep. Even I could feel a set of donkey ears growing out of my head when you pointed that one out!!
  23. Erm....and for IanC who is viewing through oddly coloured spectacles, I said 'which' O-Rings when you asked me if I had fitted them on the 550s, meaning that there are a number of different ones on each injector. I then picked up an old injector to find the one on the nozzle was missing. Then found this to be the case on them all. At that point I needed no help at all to come to the conclusion that after fitting new 550s with o-rings, there had to be 2 in each hole! If I didn't know about the O-rings that were meant to be there, I wouldn't have fitted the new ones to my new injectors and ended up with two in each hole. The problem was that as I couldn't see into more than one injector hole, I couldn't see that when the old injectors came out, they left the nozze O-rings in the holes. Sorry, mate, just couldn't let you get away with that one in public.
