How long do you think that would stay there for?
  2. It's nearly 2 weeks away! How much time d'you need??
  3. Happy Birthday Rosie! Shame you're at work. You just aren't organised enough!! (Takes cover....)
  4. Is that the boat that was used in the movie 'The Island'?
  5. FFS! I posted this thread as humour! How can we ever know if the guy was joking around with the interviewer or not? And how can we seriously make anything like an accurate judgement on his intelligence based on his answer? All this discussion is completely futile. Just treat it as humour, it was meant as nothing else.
  6. Erm....that was only a joke on the recoil thing. I'm ex-forces myself and am all too aware of some of the arguments that went on around the time of the introduction of the SA80. (I left just before its' initial introduction) Apart from the fact that it didn't meet their needs, many of our special forces units would have refused to use it anyway.
  7. Yes, but our lads don't feel recoil because they're using SA80's!
  8. December 9, 2005 (CNN) While interviewing an anonymous US Special Forces soldier on his sniper skills, a Reuters News agent asked the soldier what he felt when shooting members of Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. The soldier shrugged and replied, "Recoil."
  9. Yep, I've definitely seen that one before. Pretty sure it's been on here in the past actually. The front is hideous, but it's supposed to look like the old Toyota 2000GT from the '60s, so I guess there's a reason for it being ugly at least! Not keen myself.
  10. Yep. The latter. Biggest, most profitable car manufacturer in the world. About time they made a new Supra, isn't it??
  11. 1.Heckler+1 2.Secondjump+Vic 3.DamanC 4.lambertpig ? 5.Soop Dogg ======>5A. Angie (You're in trouble now, Si!!!) 6.Rik ? 7.Digsy ? 8.Supragold ? 9.Ouch Got Me ?
  12. Don't know what the item is about but they just gave a headline: "The March of Toyota. Ready to take over the world." Will be on in the next 10 mins I guess.
  13. The Challenger will be nice if they put it into production. Until then (they reckon in this months Motor Trend) that'll be at least 2008 IF they produce it. To my mind, the only 'Coke Bottle' shaped car was the '68 to '83 Corvette. (Was the only one the Americans referred to as being that shape when I lived there! I owned a '75 L82) Cortinas were square sided, not 'pinched' in the middle, weren't they? I know my Mk4 ande Mk5' were. (Showing my age here!!)
  14. What about Zaks in Poringland? It's further into the village (heading away from the city)than the Railway Tavern. They opened up about 6 weeks ago. Large tarmac car park too. Not to mention that most of us should be able to find it!!
  15. On 28th December (Wednesday) at about 11pm, heading from 6th Ave towards 7th. Bright yellow with bling wheels too! Only one we spotted in NYC last week. I know we have one or two on here from the area, so thought I'd post it.
  16. Starting all over again now on Discovery+1
  17. We should be up for it. Think we need a new venue though as the one in Poringland has gone upmarket a bit. Or at least its' prices have! Tried it a few weeks ago and wasn't over-impressed. Any ideas?
  18. Not quite a repost but very nearly... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=51921&highlight=Bigger+Brother
  19. On behalf of my brother-in-law. Nissan 200 SX Touring Auto Coupe (1998cc Turbo) Metallic Burgundy/purplish. First reg. 15 01 1998 (R-reg) Full service history & related invoices. MOT 'til Nov. 06 Just under 125,000 miles UK car 2 previous keepers from new. (Current one is the 3rd) The car is original, with no modifications (although he has "de-bricked" the number plate, which subsequently attaches directly to the front bumper). The engine runs beautifully, especially since recent comprehensive service and MOT (Nov. 05). The SX has three nearly new Pirelli P4000 (or something), and one brand-new matching Pirelli P whatever. The bonnet, and front bumper has been resprayed (simply to tidy up stone-chips), as has the off-side, due to an clumsy idiot, a black metal box, and an MOT test. So basically the car is in exceptional condition and looks rather stunning with a good polish. Looking for around £3200
  20. A day late, I know, but happy birthday Gordon!
  21. Chilli, you seem determined to continue the auto vs manual thing, don't you? If you had been around this forum for any length of time you'd realise just how OLD the argument is getting. Just remember, the cars we're talking about in this thread bear little overall resemblance to what we drive on the street so how relevant is it to how OUR cars might perform? I think we can only marvel at how both of the cars involved have got to the stage they are at.
  22. Maybe if you're not a regular car buyer. I find that particularly with specialist cars that are anything older than about 8 years, I almost expect it to have had at least a partial respray. Yes, to some it can make them suspicious, but it can also be the sign of a very fussy owner. I have had parts resprayed because of small stone chips etc. In fact the paint on the front of my car is less than 2 years old, but I'll probably have it done again in 2006 because of a handful of stone chips.
  23. Don't try to remove the quarter lights. They're a nightmare to get out and the chances are you'll break them if you don't have the right tools and a lot of patience!
