  1. ALmost called repost then, but in fact there was another similar (but worse) accident with an Enzo posted a while back. Here you go; http://www.websitetoolbox.com/tool/post/viatron/vpost?id=729965
  2. Cheers mate! Do you know, that's just what I was about to come up with. (Gets coat....)
  3. I did this one January in Minnesota. I was in a mini van and it was cold out - V. Cold - I'm talking about -40 to -45 degrees C! Well, this type of weather is NOT for walking in. With the wind chill that night at around -70 it can freeze any exposed flesh in about 3 to 4 mins. The car had stalled on a junction in the middle of nowhere. Nothing around but snow covered prairies. I got out and pushed the car to the side of the road. Then got back in to wrap up fully before trying to walk somewhere. As I put the handbrake on I stuck it in 'P'. Just before getting out to lock it all up and walk away, I thought I'd just give it a last go at starting. 1st time on the button. Knew immediately what I'd done and felt like a right numpty! Could've not made it that night through my own stupidity. On the bright side, at least I didn't call anyone else to come and laugh at me!
  4. just out of interest, what was the make/model of wheel that caused the problem?
  5. Yep, I see what your saying and it makes sense. Let me go away and try to work out what it was that actually happened. As soon as we removed the FCD it was all ok. I'll get back to you!
  6. Sorry, I was taking it for granted that a pressure sensor would be included in the install. We had a moment of head scratching during mapping when the E-Manage appeared to only see a max of 1bar of boost, but my mechanical boost gauge was seeing more than that. Hence it ran lean at higher boost. (E-Manage was fuelling for the 1bar it could see when in fact it was running at 1.1bar. I had left the FCD in situ with the intention of removing it later. Needless to say that came out straight away!
  7. Re. the boost cut. Make sure you do remove it before trying to map the E-Manage. Otherwise the Thor unit will hold down the voltage tyring to make the ECU only ever see under 1bar and this is what the E-Manage will also see. The unit won't then be adding fuel when beyond 1bar because it won't see anything higher than that. Then your engine might go bang through running lean. Just something I picked up along the way. Right, Mr C?
  8. It's a dummy serial PLUG. It plugs onto the end of the lead that you would normally plug into the laptop. Inside it there are some pins that are shorted out. This pin configuration is recognised by the RLTC unit and places it in 'learn' mode. This is confirmed by the green LED flashing slowly when at a standstill. (about 1Hz flash) When you've done your configuration run, you'll see the LED begin to flash in time with the wheelspeed. You can then remove the plug from the end of the lead. HTH
  9. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56784&highlight=Cod Reply No. 8. (Sorry mate) Still funny though.
  10. 2nd of April only for us I'm afraid.
  11. The Beatles - Daytripper/We can Work it Out. I guess that puts me with CJ's gang!!
  12. Happy Birthday mate! (Only just made it.....phew!)
  13. Paul, you just had to lower the tone, didn't you?
  14. Numpty? No way mate. Being macho is all very good, but it hurts when you bin it! (I actually had RLTC in my car when I binned it. Unfortunately I had left it set to 20% when I hit a slippy patch-DOH! Another lesson learnt!)
  15. No probs, mate. Looks different when you look at the quote in Alex's first post, doen't it?
  16. Sounds very like my experience a couple of years ago. But as I left the road there wasn't a hedge. In fact there wasn't much of anything except a bank - downwards about 10 feet! Car flew through the air and landed rear offside corner first. Bent the chassis, wrote it off. Be careful out there if you don't want to go from this: To this: (I got the salvage back and stripped it. Broke my heart.)
  17. That pic in Monte Carlo looks like a phothop though. You'd think they could do better. I'd still have the car though!!!
  18. What's the film you're copying? Madagascar? Hitch? There are a load of new films with a new level of encryption on them that cause this error. (I've seen it a few times) Are you using DVDShrink? Try googling the error message and you'll find full details and a list of movies that have this encryption. DVDShrink also has a forum, but I'd have to look it up. :edit: a scratched source disc can also cause this.
  19. Sorry mate - of a http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=56184&highlight=sheep
  20. Oh well. Maybe later in the year when the weather cheers up too then. Hope you get it all sorted.
  21. Sorry, but I read the thread TITLE: Almost got Beat by a fiesta - because of Snow!!!! An there was me thinking you almost got beat by a fiesta - because of Snow. Silly mistake I suppose!!
